Karl Stemonsen was driven to a dead end, so he went all out.

This outcome, though not unexpected, was completely beyond Gao Yang’s expectations.

Grand Ivan, truly a divine person!

America will certainly eliminate Grand Ivan and must eliminate him, but before finding all the nuclear bombs hidden by Grand Ivan in America, the country will absolutely not act rashly.

Primarily out of fear.

Thus, people like Cerberus are in a tragic situation. They want revenge, but America is absolutely not going to intervene, so they plan to take revenge themselves. Unfortunately, America still won’t let them act.

Who is to blame in this matter?

No one is to blame.

The deceased CIA agent wasn’t wrong; he was executing orders. For national interests, he had to ensure Karl and his team could not seek revenge on Grand Ivan because America could not afford either the consequences of failure or success.

Were Karl Stemonsen and his team wrong? From the perspective of national interest, they were wrong, but personally, they were not wrong at all. Seventy-six lives were gone; he must seek justice for his brothers. They were oppressed and ostracized, and when they planned to act on their own, they were directly killed. In such a situation, how else could they respond but rise in resistance, especially as they didn’t know whether the so-called state secret was true or not.

The matter of Grand Ivan planting nuclear bombs in America could only be the highest secret level. CIA operatives don’t know the specifics, and Karl Stemonsen and his team certainly aren’t qualified to know.

Who’s at fault? Only Grand Ivan is; he’s the notorious arms dealer, a big villain.

This world doesn’t lack big events happening; just some are known to people, while others will never be known.

The tragedy of Karl Stemonsen and the entire Red Team is that they are merely tools, small figures, and when personal pursuit conflicts with national interest, only they can be sacrificed.

Gao Yang is one of the few people in the world who knows what happened, and in some detailed matters, he knows the most thoroughly because he led and pushed the occurrence of all this.

Karl Stemonsen and his team must be eliminated as dangerous enemies, but now Gao Yang no longer needs to worry about them; America will personally intervene to end it all.

Thus, Karl Stemonsen and his team are doomed.

Now the question is how to get through the immediate crisis. Although Karl Stemonsen and his team won’t massacre ordinary people and don’t seem intent on killing him, there are many armed police outside, and Karl and his team inside won’t possibly surrender. If things really escalate to a shoot-out, one must be cautious to avoid accidentally getting shot in the crossfire.

So Gao Yang simply lay on the ground and moved a few steps to hide in a bullet-proof corner.

Joseph bent low and ran briskly to Gao Yang’s side; then he lay down too, whispering in Gao Yang’s ear: "Should we help take them down?"

Gao Yang thought for a moment and whispered, "No, it’s none of our business; just keep watching carefully."

Joseph whispered, "I observed those who came in close-up; they’re from different units. The one leading was CIA, took a shot to both shoulders, and now he’s dead with a headshot. The others are city SWAT from Houston; their leader instructed not to fire. It seems a hastily assembled team has communication issues. Now those people are all dead, each with a headshot; these guys strike lethally, not considering any left for reserve."

Gao Yang whispered, "They’re America’s sharpest blade; once drawn, someone dies, leaving no room for them isn’t in their nature."

At this moment, Karl Stemonsen was methodically putting on a bulletproof vest he took off a corpse, holding a submachine gun.

Maybe to avoid injuring restaurant guests, the first batch of SWAT who charged in used only submachine guns, no other weapons, because submachine guns have higher accuracy and weaker penetration than rifles, higher speed and more power than handguns, no bulletproof vests on Karl’s team, making them suitable to control the situation nicely.

With only the submachine guns, Cerberus members naturally have only submachine guns to use. Karl took an MP5, slung another MP5 on his back, cycled the cocking handle, and shouted: "Ready, let’s fight our way out!"

People died, decisions made; there’s no turning back now. So Karl immediately became decisive; no longer a decadent and angry man but the most formidable military commander.

After loudly proclaiming to fight out, Karl Stemonsen suddenly said: "We have to flee, but we’re out of money."

He said briefly to his men and then shouted, "Now! This is a robbery; everyone take out your wallets. Only cash; no valuables other than cash. Please cooperate!"

With the dozen deaths, no one in the restaurant dared to not cooperate.

Gao Yang was quite surprised; surrender was impossible for Karl and his team, so they’re about to engage over a hundred SWAT outside. In such circumstances, Karl’s momentary decision to rob because fleeing without money wouldn’t work showcases either deep cunning or overconfidence, given they must get away alive with the loot.

Mike took a bag and shouted at the cashier: "Take out all the cash, quickly!"

The cashier, trembling, opened the drawer, handing over small stacks of bills. After Mike stuffed them into the bag, he asked patrons to voluntarily place cash in the bag.

"Thank you, sorry, thank you, sorry."

Mike thanked and apologized while collecting money, apparently not yet comfortable being a robber and feeling guilty.

Gao Yang routinely carried large amounts of cash, so when Mike approached, Gao Yang was already prepared with approximately Three Thousand Dollars, perhaps the most cash in the restaurant.

Mike wasn’t going to take Gao Yang’s money, but seeing Gao Yang holding out the money, he hesitated, then walked over, softly saying, "Thanks, sorry, deeply sorry."

Gao Yang tossed the money into the bag without saying anything.

Mike wrapped up the bag holding the guns and stuffed it inside his jacket; then he told Karl: "That’s enough."

Karl took a deep breath, then shouted: "Everyone! Raise your hands, head out front, or get shot dead, move! Move faster!"
