Evander Lancaster had given his son to his mother-in-law with "careful consideration."

All this time, it had been his mother-in-law taking care of his wife, so both emotionally and logically, she should be the first to hold her grandson.

On the other hand, Sophia Hamilton had said not to allow his mother to hold the grandson, so by doing this, he was leaving himself with options.

Who knows when the little pepper might decide to settle scores, and if she finds out he let his mother hold the son first, it would surely stir up trouble.

So Evander gave the child to his mother-in-law, ignored his mother’s frozen hand in the air, and went back into the operating room.

In the corridor, Juliana Lancaster looked at her adorable grandson and couldn’t put him down.

People say that grandparents have a special bond with grandchildren, and when elders reach a certain age, they all adore children. However, Juliana also knew what was proper, seeing Violet Zimmerman wanting to hold the grandchild, she handed the baby over.

"Here, sister, you hold him."

"Oh, oh," Violet readily agreed, her lips and brows radiating joy. Although she once thought heartlessly about aborting her grandson, she couldn’t help loving him now!

In a wealthy family, their main concern is the prosperous continuation of descendants. The more children they have, the happier they are, without the worries typical of ordinary families.

After handing over the grandson, Violet approached Joseph Lancaster.

"Joseph, look how cute this child is, just like Evander when he was little."

Joseph gently pinched the baby’s chubby cheeks, his expression softened.

Seeing their oddly harmonious understanding, Juliana couldn’t help but furrow her brows. If she didn’t know clearly that they were brother-in-law and sister-in-law, she would have thought they were husband and wife.

"Here, you hold him too!" Watching Violet give the grandson to his younger uncle, Juliana grew even more suspicious of their relationship... seems like there’s something off here.

After placing the son in Joseph’s arms, Violet laughed as she said, "Since you don’t have a wife or child, hold my grandson and relish the experience."

After Violet spoke, Juliana finally let go of her doubts; it turns out the sister-in-law was caring for the younger uncle, she almost misunderstood.

Juliana found her own thought amusing, while across from her, Joseph asked, looking at the sleeping grandson, "Have you picked a name for the baby?"

"Not yet, we’ll choose one based on the Lancaster family genealogy when we return."

The "siblings-in-law" together gazed at the grandson, while Juliana, the maternal grandmother, became an outsider.

Sophia Hamilton had good appetite and wasn’t picky with food, so the baby was larger than average, weighing eight pounds and four ounces, as heavy as two standard babies.

Coming out of the operating room, Sophia was wheeled into her private resting room, fully equipped to facilitate care.

The IV drip was hung by Evander himself, and when he inserted the needle for Sophia, he was very focused.

After Violet and Joseph left, Evander persuaded Juliana to return too, staying behind at the hospital to care for both mother and child.

Under the effects of anesthesia, Sophia remained asleep, while Evander stood at the infant crib, smiling at his son.

"Wah... woo... wah..." As he slept, the baby suddenly started crying, mouth agape, and blindly licking to the side.

Evander hurriedly picked his son up, gently patting and coaxing him, "Don’t cry, baby, daddy’s here, it’s okay..."

Even though it was his first time soothing a baby, Evander was definitely a qualified milk dad, softly comforting him while lightly rocking him, as if he had previous experience.

Yet, no matter how he comforted, the little one just kept crying incessantly.
