"Serena just dialed Ethan Grant, but before the call connected, her phone was smashed, and shortly after, Ethan rushed over."

Julian Ford, who has been in a meeting, doesn’t know what happened outside.

Finn said again, her voice calm.
"She?"
Julian Ford was ready to ask if "she" referred to Mrs. Chambers or Pearl Chambers.
It couldn’t be Serena!
"Something bad happened, Mr. Ford."
As they were talking, the door of the meeting room was pushed open, and a secretary hurried in to report the situation to Julian Ford.
Events transpired suddenly, and he disregarded whether Julian Ford allowed them to disturb him.
"What’s going on?"
Julian Ford asked calmly.
"President Grant’s bodyguards have smashed our mall."
The secretary stated the first matter.
Julian Ford looked at Finn doubtfully; Ethan Grant smashed his mall?
"And there’s more!"
The secretary softened his voice, "Police are downstairs, they’ve brought Miss Flinch."
"Understood."
Julian Ford stood up, taking the jacket from his chair.
"Who did you push down the stairs?"
"Mrs. Chambers."
This time Finn didn’t call her "mother," just "Mrs. Chambers."
"Let’s go."
Julian Ford took a step forward, Finn reached out to grab his hand, "Will you protect me?"
"Yes!"
Julian Ford replied firmly.
"If it really was me who pushed her..."
"It wasn’t you."
"Hmm?"
"Would you be so foolish as to push someone down the stairs in public?" Julian Ford replied, "And that person is your mother."
Julian Ford’s words steadied Finn’s heart, which had been floating uneasily in midair since the incident.
The feeling of having someone to rely on is truly a comfort!
Julian Ford took Finn to the police station personally.
He asked Finn about the whole incident on the way there.
Initially, whether Mrs. Chambers fell down the stairs because Finn pushed her could have been clarified by checking the surveillance footage, but unfortunately, the camera capturing the staircase was unusable.
Other surveillance spots did capture the quarrel between Finn and Mrs. Chambers.
On top of that, Pearl Chambers insisted in front of the media that it was Finn who pushed Mrs. Chambers, making the situation tricky.
Given Julian Ford’s status and with the best lawyer hired, he posted bail and took Finn home first, but further investigation was needed.
If the situation escalated, Julian Ford’s resolve to protect Finn could be disadvantageous for both him and The Ford Family.
