Chapter 934: Her Good Fortune
Julian Ford walked out with Finn Chandler, holding her hand tightly, and her heart felt warm, just like the warmth in her palm.
Meeting Julian Ford was truly her luck.
Now, she was full of confidence about the future, thinking that no matter what happened, she would face it fearlessly!
Serena Sullivan had arranged to meet Finn Chandler. These days, Serena was either in the hospital or resting at home. She was eagerly hoping for a child, something Finn was aware of.
This kind of matter is hard to advise on; she just hopes Serena is successful in having a child.
As a pregnant mom, a woman who wants a child, the two of them headed up synchronously in the mall, planning to browse the maternity and baby store.
For some reason, when they entered this mall, it felt different than usual.
There weren’t many customers; upon reaching the second floor, apart from the store staff and the two of them, the number of shoppers they encountered could be counted on one hand.
Serena found it strange and asked Finn, "Is the business of The Ford Corporation’s mall really doing this poorly?"
Although today wasn’t a weekend, the quietness felt odd to Serena.
"Maybe the economy is down this year."
Finn didn’t pay much attention; this was the mall she had visited in Solaria when she met Julian Ford a few days ago.
It seemed there were quite a few customers there at the time.
"Forget it! Fewer people is still a good thing."
Finn said, reaching out to link her arm with Serena’s.
Previously, when they went out shopping, she wasn’t sure she could openly link arms with Serena, afraid they’d end up in the news headlines, upsetting Ethan Grant.
"Have your mom and sister been reaching out to you lately?"
As they entered the maternity store, Serena asked Finn.
Finn shook her head, "No!"
Upon hearing this reply, Serena’s brow furrowed slightly; it was surprising that Mrs. Chambers and Pearl Chambers hadn’t come to bother Finn.
"That day, Julian came over and took me away; they haven’t contacted me since."
"Maybe they’re scared!"
"Maybe they know they can’t benefit from me, so..."
Finn said, her smile growing stronger.
She suspected whether she was truly born to Mrs. Chambers! But she does resemble Pearl Chambers!
"If they can’t gain anything, they won’t disturb you."
Serena followed Finn’s words.
She always sensed something was off somewhere!
If Mrs. Chambers and Pearl Chambers were this easy to dismiss, they wouldn’t be them.
The two changed their mind so quickly to agree to Finn marrying Julian Ford merely because the marriage could bring them greater benefits.
That they would give up on pestering Finn was a wild dream to Serena!
"However, they did send me a lot of messages."
Finn said, pulling out her phone to show Serena.
After all, they were her biological mother and sister. Finn claimed she hated them and wouldn’t be involved anymore, but she hadn’t even added their numbers to her blocklist.
Deep down, Finn was still reluctant to let go of this familial bond.
If she truly wanted to let go, she wouldn’t have obediently listened to them all these years.
Serena took Finn’s phone and flipped through the messages, finding them as expected; Mrs. Chambers and Pearl Chambers were calling Finn "heartless and ungrateful" in the texts.
They either wanted Finn to hand over some shares or expected The Ford Family to give a sky-high dowry.
And then, they claim it’s for Finn’s own good.
"Once you finish, help me delete them."
Finn hadn’t read a single message.
She hadn’t deleted them because she needed to see them.
"Sure!"
Serena had almost finished browsing, and as she was about to select all to delete, she noticed a message from Pearl Chambers.
