Five cheerleaders wearing fitted sky blue jerseys with bright pink accents and skirts with the same colors stood on the stage, each holding pink or sky blue pompoms.

All of them were beautiful and had athletic figures, but the one at the center captivated everyone’s attention.

Sarin Kim had fluffy shoulder-length pink hair with big yellow eyes that made her look even cuter; her skin was milk white, appearing soft like cotton, and she had a slender yet well-endowed figure.

Seeing her made one feel the desire to protect her at all costs, and Klaus was one of them.

The woman standing there was someone he loved, and he was seeing her after three years.

His lips stretched into a smile, and he whispered, "You did it, huh..."

Right then, the loudspeakers across the stadium turned on, and the whole area was filled with music.

The cheerleaders raised their hands toward the sky and their dance began.

The first beat struck like a spark.

Sarin stepped forward with the other four cheerleaders, their shoes landing in perfect unison. Pink and sky-blue pompoms swept outward, catching the stadium lights as they spun in wide arcs above their heads.

They pivoted sharply to the left and then right.

A synchronized kick followed, skirts fluttering with the motion as the five girls formed a diagonal line. Sarin stood at the center of it, her pink hair bouncing around her shoulders as she smiled brightly toward the crowd.

The music quickened, and the cheerleaders crossed their pompoms over their chests before throwing them apart in a sudden burst.

They dropped into a low crouch, then sprang back up, turning together as they traded positions.

Sarin moved with effortless precision.

One step, the two and then a graceful spin.

She raised one pompom overhead while extending the other toward the crowd, and the four girls behind her mirrored the pose. For a heartbeat, the entire formation seemed frozen beneath the stadium lights.

Then the beat dropped.

All five jumped at the same time.

Their pompoms shot into the air before they caught them cleanly on the way down.

The audience erupted.

Klaus couldn’t hear the cheers over the pounding music anymore. His eyes remained fixed on Sarin.

It had been three years since he had last seen her smile. Yet somehow, watching her dance now, it felt as though no time had passed at all.

He could see that she had worked hard for her dream and probably already reached it. He had long stopped to check on it.

The routine continued, growing faster and more energetic.

The girls formed a circle, rotating around Sarin before breaking apart into two pairs. Sarin slipped between them, spinning once before dropping to one knee.

The others lifted their pompoms high behind her, creating a brilliant fan of pink and blue.

Sarin looked up, and for the briefest moment, her golden eyes swept across the stands.

Klaus’s smile faded into stunned silence.

’Did she see me?’ He asked himself, his heartbeat rising.

Sarin’s experience stayed the same as they were, and on the next beat hit, she sprang to her feet and continued dancing.

For a total of five minutes, they danced, and as the music lowered, they froze. Once it died down, they bowed toward the audience and then stepped off the stage.

The announcer’s voice rang across the stadium.

"A round of applause for the five bright cheerleaders!"

The crowd clapped instantly; the sound produced was deafening to say the least.

Klaus stared at the stage where his ex-girlfriend was just standing, and a reluctant look appeared on his face.

’Can I really do this?’ He wondered.

It was much easier to cut ties via a phone call than to say it to the face, more so when the person was someone you actually loved and cared about.

Klaus may have supernatural strength, speed, and senses, but he was still a human at heart.

Can I really send her away for my dream?

He could already feel himself go weak by glancing at her beautiful face; how was he supposed to do something so cold-hearted?

His hands snapped over to his face and produced a crisp sound before he rubbed his face and mumbled in his head, ’Man up, Klaus. By doing this, you can save her from dying during the apocalypse.’

Right as he said those words, a blue screen appeared before his face.

[Can you?]

He looked at it and frowned deeply.

’What?’ He asked inwardly, his eyes trembling.

[Can Host really save her?]

His expression darkened; the question was strange, but unknowingly, it had struck him right at his pride.

’Of course I can,’ he responded inwardly and gripped the armrests of his chair as he added, ’If I cannot even do something like that, what even is the point of choosing me as your host?’

He was already feeling quite sad from his own thoughts, and the system’s messages had transformed it into fury directed at himself.

[It seems I misworded my question.]

He furrowed his brows. ’What do you mean?’

[What I mean to ask is: Do you think she needs your help to survive the apocalypse?]

Unlike the previous question, this one didn’t feel like an attack, but it still left him confused.

Of course she needed him; how else was she supposed to survive...

Just as that thought ended, his eyes grew wide in understanding, and he asked the system, ’Is she also a renowned hero like Trina or Marcel?’

[No, she is not.]

His explanation returned to being somber, and he mumbled in a barely audible voice, "Why are you even asking me that question then?"

[Because she does not need your help.]

’Huh?’ His brows rose upwards, and he said, "Why are you beating around the bush? Say it directly."

[Sarin Kim is an awakened human, but she will not become a hero. She will be a villain, an Evil at that.]

His eyes widened, and he whispered in disbelief, "What...?"

’Sarin is one of the seven Evils?’
