Chapter 49: Making The Boss Surrender
Boss lowered the nozzle of his assault rifle and muttered, "What the fuck do you want?"
Klaus’s gaze shifted to the two gang members holding onto Ben, and he said, "Drop your pistols onto the ground and push them away with your feet."
The two gang members exchanged looks with each other, and one of them spat, "Who the hell are you to order us?"
Klaus moved his eyes to Boss and said, "It seems like they don’t care about this one as much as you do."
Boss didn’t react and asked, "Are you trying to act calm?"
Klaus blinked, surprised.
"Are you saying that I am scared?" He asked, unable to understand how he came to that conclusion.
"Of course. You must be screaming for everything to go your way," Boss grinned.
At the same time, the two pulled out their pistols and pointed them at Klaus with wide grins on their face.
If it was so easy to defeat them, they wouldn’t be one of the gangs controlling the night market for the Bruma Syndicate.
Klaus was aware of that, but it was still worth trying.
"Tell me who sent you and how many maggots came with you, and I may just let you go without doing anything," Boss stated.
Klaus let out a deep breath and mumbled under his breath, "I have no other option, huh?"
Veins bulged on his leg as he took a step forward with all of his ability.
’!!!’ Boss raised his assault rifle to barrage him with bullets with the other two gang members, but before they could even press the trigger, Klaus was already standing a step away from him with the nozzle of his pistol placed at the center of Boss’s forehead.
"Do you want to see which one of us can press the trigger fast?" Klaus asked, his voice calm and composed.
Boss’s eyes trembled in disbelief and shock.
’H-How did he do that? He was just standing there!’
"What the hell just happened?!" One of the gang members yelled with eyes so wide they seemed like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
"What is he? A superhero?" The other mumbled under his breath while rubbing his eyes with his pistol-holding hand, unable to make any sense out of the current situation.
Klaus smirked behind the mask while making sure not to show any of it in his eyes.
To the three of them, from the moment they had looked at Klaus, he was staring with his deep, black, emotionless eyes that seemed to pierce through their very being, and the feeling wasn’t enjoyable at all.
’What did we even do for a monster like him to come here?!’ Boss racked his brain as sweat drops beaded on his forehead and rolled down his face.
Seeing the fear in his eyes, Klaus asked in an unhurried tone, "How long are you going to make me wait for the answer?"
Boss shivered and stammered as he raised his hands in defeat, "N-No! I don’t!"
The assault rifle fell out of his hand and landed on the ground with a thud.
Klaus looked at it for a moment, and a sharp glint passed through Boss’s eyes.
’What a dumbass!’ He smirked and moved his hands to push Klaus’s hand away from him.
He swung his right hand at the right side of Klaus’s arms and got ready to kick him into the abdomen.
However, as his hand struck Klaus’s arms, his expression darkened because nothing happened at all.
The arm didn’t even move a centimeter. Rather, Boss felt like he was trying to push a wall with a hand.
"You still haven’t learned anything, huh?" Klaus mumbled and raised his left foot.
"I-I..." Boss stammered for an excuse, but he had nothing.
The two gang members watched the two of them with bated breath, their pistols already low.
Klaus stared into his trembling eyes as he stomped at the assault rifle on the ground.
The assault rifle shattered like a plastic toy, and cracks slithered away on the ground beneath.
Boss and the gang members’ eyes widened beyond disbelief, and the three of them grabbed their heads.
"What the fuck?!"
Their gaze shifted to Klaus, their brain refusing to believe what he had just done.
Boss stared at the shattered rifle. The confidence drained from his face. His legs weakened, and he swallowed.
"W-What... what do you want, sir?"
Klaus turned his gaze to the two gang members, and the instant he looked at them, they dropped their guns and raised both of their hands in defeat.
Ben, who had been supported by their other arm, fell to the ground like a wet towel, and the two looked at him with a horrified and annoyed expression.
"Are you trying to get us killed, you stupid unconscious bastard?!" One of them spewed.
A few minutes later, they woke up the unconscious gang members and told them to stand at the entrance to stop the members, who must be returning from the store after finding no one there.
Klaus sat in Boss’s chair, and before him knelt Milten gang’s Boss and the other two gang members.
"So what you are saying is that you don’t know anything about Ryan’s kidnapping?" Klaus asked in a distrustful tone.
Boss shook his head and placed his hands on the heads of the members kneeling beside him.
"I swear on Eddie and Jose’s heads that I don’t know anything about that! My gang doesn’t even do petty shit like that. We only take 20% of the stores’ income as protection fees."
Eddie and Jose turned pale, and the latter stammered, "Y-Yeah! Boss Mercy is right! We don’t even do that kidnapping, harassing, and all the immoral crap!"
Klaus stared at them with a deadpan expression and remarked inwardly, ’The fuck are you talking about? 20%? You are literally robbing them.’
He almost blurted it out before remembering the mysterious image he was trying to maintain.
He leaned forward and locked his fingers in front of his face as he asked with narrowed eyes, "Take a guess and tell me which gang would do something like that."
