Chapter 120: I Won
Chapter 120
Meanwhile, Yuexin herself was beginning to realize that her movements were getting slower and slower; several waves of pain assaulted her nervous system, but they weren’t coming from the occasional slashes she received from Xueyi during their clashes... rather, they came from something she was already familiar with.
She was being poisoned. She frowned, for she hadn’t inhaled the poison at all; she had made absolutely sure not to breathe any of it in, yet that didn’t seem to be remotely close to stopping it from invading her body.
Xueyi struck with Tiger Tear, and Yuexin managed to block it, but before she could counterattack, another violent wave of pain shot through her side, causing her to stagger for a second.
Just a second, but that single second was more than enough; Xueyi’s dagger flashed, leaving behind a bloody gash that tore open Yuexin’s side as fresh blood splattered onto the ground.
Keeping the same warm, playful smile on her face, Xueyi calmly explained the situation Yuexin was in, after all, it was obvious that she still didn’t understand how her poison worked. "It wouldn’t matter whether you inhale it or not,"
Xueyi said cheerfully, "breathing it in isn’t necessary. As long as you stay inside this poison, it will continue to be absorbed into your body." She smiled even brighter, "It enters through your skin, your ears, your nose... every opening on your body, and even through your pores.
Staying inside here for these two minutes already means your body is filled with my poison. Your strength should already be weakening, Sister Yuexin; you should give up. There is no way for you to win this battle."
Yuexin, however, wasn’t ready to lose; she let out a slow sigh before her gaze gradually sharpened. "I see... so I can’t escape the poison. In that case... I’ll just have to take you down before you take me down." The moment she finished speaking, she moved.
Using the Flowing Surge together with both her Water Qi and Blood Qi, her attacks reached an astonishing level; every slash she delivered forced Xueyi to guard seriously, and with every collision, Xueyi’s gaze gradually hardened.
The cheerful smile that had remained on her face throughout the battle slowly disappeared as she finally began taking the fight completely seriously. She had already won this battle; all she needed to do now was wait.
Wait until the poison weakened Yuexin so much that she wouldn’t even be able to lift a finger anymore; when that happened, victory would undoubtedly belong to her. Still, she first had to survive Yuexin’s final desperate assault.
The two fought with incredible ferocity; as their battle continued, Xueyi couldn’t help but think that if Yuexin were even two stages higher than she currently was, she might truly have had no hope of defeating her.
She really is a monster... well, she had always known Yuexin was a monster, but even so, she wasn’t going to lose this time; she would make absolutely sure that she won this battle.
As the two continued clashing, the poison relentlessly weakened Yuexin while continuously sending waves of pain through her body; the more pain she endured, the less efficiently she was able to fight.
And because her combat efficiency continued dropping, she was struck more and more by Xueyi’s poisoned daggers; each slash not only tore open her flesh and caused physical pain, but also injected even more poison into her body.
The poison accumulated, her strength weakened further, the pain intensified, and the vicious cycle continued over and over again. It went on for a while until Yuexin’s movements gradually became sluggish under the relentless pain overwhelming her body.
Her blue eyes dimmed slightly as she received multiple strikes from Xueyi’s poisoned daggers; they came fast and without mercy, leaving behind countless tearing, slashing, and piercing wounds all over her body.
She coughed out a mouthful of blood before looking at her hand; it had completely turned purple. And it wasn’t only the skin on her hand that had changed color; the same could be said for several other parts of her body. They had all turned a deep violet, the poison making it nearly impossible for her to move them properly.
Yuexin gritted her teeth and switched her blue sword from her right hand... which had been completely engulfed by the poison... to her left hand; that arm also bore the marks of the poison, but it hadn’t spread through it completely yet.
The one eye that was still blue slowly changed to red; she had been hurt enough to draw upon an even deeper power from her bloody self. The moment she opened her eyes once more, she struck.
Xueyi was immediately taken aback as she faced Yuexin again; she was stunned beyond words to discover that Yuexin had somehow become even stronger than before. Her mind screamed only one thing: "Impossible! How the hell is she still able to fight after being poisoned this badly?"
All that poison should have been causing unbearable pain throughout her entire body; if Xueyi were the one in Yuexin’s shoes, she wouldn’t even be standing... she would have passed out long ago.
But Yuexin... not only was she still standing, she actually seemed to be growing stronger the more she was hurt. And that wasn’t just Xueyi’s imagination; as the battle continued and Xueyi inflicted more and more injuries upon her, it became increasingly obvious.
Every time Yuexin was wounded, she became stronger; yet Xueyi wasn’t spared either. She was repeatedly struck by Yuexin’s relentless assault, and every blow that landed became heavier, more painful, and more dangerous than the last. It was almost as if the more she hurt Yuexin, the stronger Yuexin became.
"She is... a monster," Xueyi thought with growing dread as she suffered more and more injuries while managing to inflict so few meaningful ones herself. Fortunately, her poison was helping offset the disadvantage; after all, it wasn’t merely injuring Yuexin, it was continuously weakening her as well.
Yuexin’s situation had become strange... almost comical, if it could even be described that way; the more injuries she received, the stronger she became, and the more blood that flowed around her, the more alive and powerful she felt.
And because of that, she could be said to be unbelievably powerful right now; but the poison had already spread through nearly her entire body.
It continuously weakened her, limited her, and tormented her all at the same time; because of that, despite the overwhelming strength she possessed, she was only able to fight with barely thirty percent of her true capability.
She frowned as another violent wave of pain crashed into her, nearly causing her to black out; still, she forcefully suppressed it and sharpened her mind once more for battle. She knew one thing for certain: if she didn’t defeat Xueyi before the poison completely consumed her, she would lose.
Xueyi herself felt as though her entire world had been turned upside down; Yuexin wasn’t collapsing, when she should have collapsed a long time ago.
Instead, she continued dealing terrifying attacks that were far too fast to evade completely, and every strike she landed carried frightening power; Xueyi was wounded over and over again.
Her body was beginning to weaken, even her mind was starting to feel exhausted; for the first time, she truly felt that she might lose. *How is she still fighting with all that poison inside her...? She really is a monster!* Xueyi couldn’t help but scream those words in her mind.
As the battle continued, it became clear that the winner would be decided by only two things: if Xueyi could endure Yuexin’s assault long enough for the poison to completely dominate her body, then Xueyi would win; but if Yuexin managed to incapacitate Xueyi before that happened, then Yuexin would be the victor.
As for who would win, only time could tell. Several minutes later, Yuexin suddenly collapsed onto one knee, desperately holding back the urge to cry out in pain; her eyes had changed back to blue, and her body had almost completely turned purple.
Only her face still retained its original complexion, though even that was slowly beginning to turn violet as well; the pain she was enduring had become unbearable. It spread through her bones, her muscles, and her organs; every single inch of her body screamed in agony.
Standing on the opposite side, Xueyi had already distanced herself from the monstrous Yuexin, her heart racing wildly inside her chest; she didn’t look any better. In fact, somehow, she looked even worse.
Her skin had been sliced apart in so many places that she was covered in her own blood, looking like a bloody corpse... the only exception being that she wasn’t dead yet; but she had surely come terrifyingly close to it.
She looked at Yuexin, who seemed to have finally reached her limit. "She is a monster..." she couldn’t help but mutter, her eyes filled with both fear and respect. Still, she was certain that if not for her Poison Qi completely invading Yuexin’s body, she would have lost this battle.
After calming herself down, a smile slowly appeared on her face: "Well... as hard as it was, it looks like I have finally won this battle." She looked at Yuexin, who, despite her miserable condition, still didn’t seem willing to lose: "I’m sorry, Sister Yuexin... but it is over now."
With those words, Xueyi gathered a massive amount of her Poison Qi before executing one of the Beast Arts: Bear Pierce. The attack surged toward Yuexin; its speed wasn’t particularly fast, almost as if it was deliberately taking its time, savoring victory.
But considering Yuexin’s current state, there was simply no hope for her to survive it. Xueyi grinned: "I won."
Yuexin slowly closed her eyes; Li Xie’s teary gaze flashed through her mind, then came Li Jie’s exhausted expression, and finally, Li Feng’s unwavering look of determination appeared before her.
They had all pushed themselves to their absolute limits before being defeated; if she allowed herself to lose before doing the same, she didn’t know how she would ever be able to live with herself.
The moment that thought finished crossing her mind, her resolve sharpened; when she opened her eyes once more, both of her blue eyes had turned into glowing blood-red orbs.
She had completely dived into her bloody nature, drawing upon its fullest power; Yuexin felt an intoxicating surge of strength explode throughout her body. At the same time, her mind became filled with only one overwhelming thought: *Kill. And drink.*
Those two desires consumed every corner of her consciousness; she wanted nothing more than to kill and drink the blood of her prey. And in this situation, her prey was none other than Guan Xueyi.
Yuexin tightened her poisoned hand around the hilt of her blue sword; taking a battle stance, she spoke calmly, though her breathing had become heavy and labored: "Flowing Surge... Sixth Form... Raging Tide."
The moment those words left her mouth, a vibrant crimson arc was created in the air; every drop of blood that had been spilled... both hers and Xueyi’s... instantly transformed into Blood Qi, flowing toward the attack and strengthening it even further with her own power. The crimson arc shone brilliantly; then, it was unleashed.
The instant it shot forward, the Poison Dome surrounding the battle stage was violently shattered apart; the piercing strike that had been rushing toward Yuexin collided head-on with her attack. Then, in the very next moment, it was completely swallowed by the overwhelming crimson arc.
The attack exploded forward with terrifying speed, rushing toward the one Yuexin had already deemed as her prey: Guan Xueyi.
Xueyi’s purple hair was blown violently backward as her heart began pounding frantically, as though it wanted to burst out of her chest; her mind was consumed by a primal fear unlike anything she had ever experienced.
She stared at the crimson arc of destruction rushing toward her like a raging tide of death itself; her trembling mind held only one absolute thought: _If that hits me... I will die." She gulped; her entire body froze in place, paralyzed by fear.
