Chapter 164

Lazy Rayden looked at the beasts with a half-lidded eye, although his second eye, which seemed to be almost completely closed, showed a hint of irritation before he spoke.

His tone was blank, with not much emotion, yet almost all the beasts that were planning to launch themselves at him froze when they heard him speak: "I will give you a chance to run and stop disturbing me."

He looked up slowly, his sleepy gaze somehow looking dangerous before continuing: "Because trust me, if this continues, you might force me to get serious."

A hand held his yawning mouth as he continued: "And trust me, none of you want to know what your fate will be if I get serious."

Lazy Rayden said this in a slightly serious tone as he looked at the beasts with his half-lidded gaze. He let loose some of his aura, which, despite being calm, radiated immense chills down the beasts’ spines.

For a few seconds, the beasts thought about turning their backs and fleeing in all directions, but just as they wanted to turn around, they halted as they realized something: there was only one of the humans, while there were thousands of themselves.

There was no way the guy would be able to deal with all of them together, which meant that they would be able to take the win.

They outnumbered him greatly, after all, so surely they would be able to deal with him without much stress. The beasts got back their courage as they prepared to deal with Lazy Rayden.

Seeing the beasts, despite his warning, still planning on jumping on him made Lazy Rayden’s eyes twitch: "This is really... really too troublesome."

With that said, the first beast rushed forward and struck at him. With one hand, Lazy Rayden caught the beast’s claw and twisted it with such force that all the claws jutted out. The beast, feeling overwhelming pain, was about to scream in agony when Lazy Rayden struck with his hand once more.

Just one slight chop to the beast’s neck... and the beast’s neck was twisted beyond belief. The beast never even got to lament its pain before its death. All of this happened in what seemed like a blink of an eye. The rest of the beasts that were planning to lunge forward all halted as their eyes filled with fear and dread.

Lazy Rayden calmly took a simple battle stance: "Since you aren’t going to leave, then I suppose I can only end this by killing you. Okay then. Come at me in bunches so I can kill you all fast. I need to get to sleep fast before a troublesome fellow comes back to give me other tasks."

He beckoned for them to come forward with his hand, and yet despite how harmless he looked, the beasts found themselves taking a step backward instead of lunging forward.

They didn’t know why, but their instincts were screaming that they needed to run as fast as possible, as far away from this guy as possible. Or else... they were dead.

The beasts were still hesitating when they felt something move into their midst. And what happened next... made the dread brewing in their minds triple over.

Meanwhile, not only were the beasts that were facing Lazy Rayden the ones feeling fear, but the same could be said about the unlucky sets of beasts that had decided to go after Dead Eye Rayden.

Their own sorrow was even far much worse. They were being torn apart before they could even get close to the guy, who carried a large metallic object that continuously rained down attacks that were far too fast to be evaded.

And the weapon that he was using seemed to be shooting a bunch of them at the same time, meaning, with their positions and displacement, some of them were supposed to go off course.

And yet... none of that happened. Every single bullet hit its target. It was almost as if the man’s accuracy was at the god-tier level. He never missed.

And as the beasts continued to push forward and continued to die one after another, they started to have a bad feeling about this, and they wanted nothing more than to turn tail and flee back into the inner forest.

At least they would be able to keep their lives if they fled. But they knew that they didn’t dare to do such a thing. After all, if they managed to try that, the four-spiked gorilla, who could be said to be the one calling the shots of the entire battle, would undoubtedly kill them.

He would rip them apart for their cowardice. But they weren’t cowards. It was just that fighting this dead-eyed human was making them feel like prey, tied down and waiting to be shot at.

And the worst thing was the fact that no matter how they tried to evade, they were never able to escape his attacks. He was always able to land the hit, wiping them out in bunches.

The eyes of the beasts slowly started to show worry as many of them died in bunches. And yet, they were only able to continue pushing forward because of the fact that their numbers were still rather large.

So, sooner or later, they believed that they would be able to get close to the human and wipe him out. So they pushed forward, no matter how much the path forward seemed like the entrance to hell itself.

While the beasts were feeling fear and dread, Dead Eye Rayden was far more composed as he continued to shoot his machine gun while using his affinity to accelerate each of the Qi bullets, making them strike with ten times their initial force.

This caused attacks that normally would have only pierced a beast’s body to totally decimate them and tear them apart entirely. And those beasts with rather high defense, the ones able to tackle more than one bullet, well, Dead Eye Rayden only did what he believed would solve the situation.

He attacked with multiple shots. And due to his 100% accuracy, they all hit the exact same place. Once an attack struck the same place over and over again repeatedly, it was bound to totally destroy it.

And that was exactly what happened. The beasts that proved too difficult fell after multiple shots.

And the worst thing about all this was the fact that Dead Eye Rayden not only had 100% hitting accuracy and the Velocity Affinity that allowed him to strike with up to ten times the initial force alone, but he also had something else.

He had the Eagle Vision. It allowed him to see something that would have seemed far away and blurry as clearly as if it had been displayed at an extremely high megapixel resolution.

Despite the fact that the forest was dark since the sun had now set and night was fast approaching, throwing the place into slight darkness and making it hard to see clearly, with his Eagle Vision, he was able to see everything very clearly.

With all those abilities combined with his own maneuvering ability, which could only be called superb, he was able to keep the distance between himself and the beasts and strike them over and over again while maintaining a calm, steady presence and heartbeat.

It wouldn’t even seem as if he was in a life-and-death battle. It was almost as if he was having fun and not battling.

Dead Eye Rayden shot down another set of beasts, and his gaze turned slightly dark. "The boss wouldn’t be happy about this," Dead Eye Rayden thought.

They were supposed to be cultivating. But these beasts had interrupted them, and because of that, the mission the boss had given him was failing.

That was something Dead Eye Rayden couldn’t accept. So he attacked faster, dealing his cold wrath upon the unfortunate beasts below.

While Dead Eye Rayden and Lazy Rayden were causing carnage in their second round of the war, at the far side, the first reflection, King Rayden, was locked in his own battle.

With his mastery of swordsmanship and years of experience, he moved like a phantom, cutting down more and more of the beasts. His gaze was calm and composed, his hand flashing out in every direction like a grim reaper that had come to collect souls.

And the souls this green-haired reflection had come to collect... were the souls of the beasts that had first dared to invade and wage war against them.

King Rayden was an excellent swordsman, knowing numerous battle styles and understanding the ways of the blade far better than many.

With his years of experience, talent, and speed, which was simply put, unreasonable, he was able to take down more and more beasts while suffering very little damage. He was so fast... striking like lightning and agile like the wind.

The beasts could only watch in despair as they attacked faster, putting more and more of their effort into trying to deal damage to King Rayden, but he was just too fast and strong for them to corner.

They soon started to feel like they had made a very, very bad decision by going after this green-haired demon instead of facing the other two. What the beasts didn’t know was that their fate would have been the same as well, if not worse. Their worst decision was coming here to begin with.

As King Rayden killed more and more of the beasts, his expression slowly changed to one of slight worry as he looked around. The beasts were still many.

And what was worse was the fact that as time went on, only the stronger sets would remain, after all, they were harder to deal with. And so the group, King Rayden and the other two reflections, had decided to take down the weaklings first, namely those in Arc One and Arc Two.

Soon, they would be able to wipe those sets out, leaving the Arc Three beasts as the only ones left. And those Arc Three beasts, which corresponded to Qi Refining Realm beasts, would be troublesome to deal with.

After all, the gap between the Qi Refining Realm and the lower realm before it was simply huge.

And that wasn’t the only problem the group was dealing with. Not even close. The second problem, and probably the biggest problem the group was dealing with, was none other than the fact that their Qi reserves were not limitless or bottomless.

Sure, they had an insanely massive pool of Qi due to the original’s influence on them. To put things into perspective, a peak-stage Qi Gathering Realm cultivator had around 100 to 200 Qi beads in their dantian.

And yet, the original and his clones had ten times that amount at the start of the Qi Gathering Realm. Simply put, they had 1,000 Qi beads at the very first stage of the Qi Gathering Realm.

Meaning when they got to the peak stage themselves, they would have a staggering 10,000 Qi beads to draw Qi from. That was simply beyond enormous. Probably around then, their Qi reserves could truly be said to be bottomless.

But right now, they only had 1,000 Qi beads within them. And due to the fact that they had been engaged in brutal combat for almost more than an hour now... probably two hours, they were close to running out of Qi. Well, not yet.

But the Qi they had stored clearly wouldn’t be enough to deal with this massive beast horde. And since no one was cultivating to restore their Qi, they would run out of Qi sooner rather than later.

That was the main concern bothering King Rayden. If their Qi ran out... it would be their death sentence. Well, since no one was coming to save them.

The original, even if he were here, would probably say something like: "You are my reflection. Prove that you are great and the strongest." Blah, blah... something along that line for certain. So yeah, they were stuck in this dilemma.

And as the one in charge, King Rayden felt the weight of responsibility weighing heavily on him. He sighed inwardly before continuing his attack on the beasts. He would keep thinking. If things got out of hand, they should still be able to make their escape. Hopefully. Probably. Maybe.

King Rayden slashed down another beast, which seemed to be a hybrid of a wolf and a monkey. But then... his senses picked up a warning signal. One word screamed through his instincts: danger.

His body tensed up almost immediately as he crossed his daggers and twisted his body, raising them in front of him.

The very next moment... a crimson flame punch slammed hard into his guard.

BOOM!

King Rayden was sent flying like a ragdoll through the forest.
