Chapter 94: Clones Origin
Chapter 94
Liyu was slightly taken aback when he opened the Clone Archive and checked out the details of his lazy reflection. What he found was shocking...
Clone Name: Liyu (Can be customized by the Host.)
Clone Rank: S.
Sub Rank: Peak.
Former Titles: The Sleeping Immortal, Lord of Idleness, The Unmoving Sage, Heaven’s Greatest Slacker.
Core Personality: Extreme Laziness. Note: This clone despises making effort, especially what he considers unnecessary effort. Every action, every movement, every technique, every decision, everything he does... if he is forced to do it in the first place, then it must be performed with maximum efficiency and the minimum amount of effort possible.
Despite being utterly and completely unwilling to work or do anything, he possesses one of the sharpest analytical minds among all S-Rank reflections.
Innate Affinity: None.
Physique: Heavenly Efficiency Physique.
Grade: Divine.
Rank: Emperor.
Effects are listed below:
1. 100% Qi Utilization.
2. Heavenly Insight.
3. 100% Stamina Efficiency.
4. Several S-Rank buffs and effects while in Serious Mode.
Current Mode: Lazing Mode. (As always.)
Daily Habits:
Average Sleeping Time: All day.
Average Cultivation Time: Unknown. Did he even cultivate?
Average Time Spent Thinking: Excessively High.
Average Words Spoken Per Day: Extremely Low.
Dislikes people and hates mingling, since even that is considered troublesome.
Origin:
In another world overflowing with ambitious geniuses, Heaven’s Chosen, and countless unmatched experts, there existed one cultivator who was completely devoid of motivation. He skipped lectures, skipped tournaments, skipped meetings. Important or not, he skipped them all. He skipped celebrations, skipped cultivation, skipped cultivation retreats. Whenever someone asked why he lived such a life, his answer never changed; it was always the same two words: "Too troublesome."
Because of this, countless people viewed him as weak and frail. They believed he was nothing more than a talentless nobody who had somehow been accepted as a disciple by one of the Immortals.
That misconception, however, only lasted until disaster struck. And every single time a catastrophe powerful enough to shake the Heavens and fill every living being with despair descended upon the world, he would lazily rise from wherever he was sleeping, walk forward, resolve everything with a single technique or legendary art, then immediately return to sleep before anyone even had the chance to thank him.
Eventually, no one questioned his heavenly laziness anymore. Instead, whenever calamity descended upon the world, everyone simply prayed that he would wake up.
Greatest Achievement:
Slept through the invasion of the Ten Heavenly Sects. Awakened from his slumber, cleared every disturbance, then calmly returned to his peaceful sleep.
System Evaluation:
Do not mistake this clone’s laziness for weakness. Among all forms of genius, efficiency is perhaps the rarest. This clone has completely mastered that concept... along with an absolutely terrifying level of laziness as well.
Liyu couldn’t help but feel as though this was completely rigged. This clone of his was already at the Peak Mini Rank of S-Rank; only one final step remained before reaching the Absolute Mini Rank, meaning his rank as a being was actually even higher than Liyu’s own.
Perhaps Liyu understood why after reading his origin and the absurd abilities granted by his physique. His mouth practically watered. 100% Qi Utilization combined with 100% Stamina Efficiency... that was simply ridiculous. Absolutely broken.
Coupled with the many other abilities the profile didn’t even bother explaining in detail, this clone might actually be stronger than Liyu himself.
Liyu suddenly couldn’t help but grin. This was great; another jackpot. He had just obtained yet another jackpot. His smile, however, slowly dimmed as he remembered the clone’s greatest flaw: Extreme Laziness. Wasn’t this basically the same as that Slumbering Tortoise he had refused to tame because the damn bastard was far too lazy?
It seemed this guy wasn’t much different.
Liyu looked over. Sure enough, one of the clone’s eyes was already completely closed, and the other remained only half-lidded. It looked as though the bastard had already fallen asleep while standing.
Wait... he actually had fallen asleep, hadn’t he?
"Rise," Liyu ordered. The damn clone didn’t even move. Liyu’s eyes twitched. *I might need to set this guy’s head straight.*
However, before he could even do anything, the other clone immediately noticed the twitching in Liyu’s eyes. As someone possessing Absolute Obedience, he instantly understood what his employer wanted.
He naturally assumed that the lazy clone had offended his employer through his disrespectful attitude. Without wasting even a single second, he attacked. A small wisp of air seemed to brush past Liyu, and almost immediately after that came a deafening bang. It was so loud that Liyu’s ears rang.
He slowly turned his gaze and beheld the place where the lazy clone had been sitting. It was completely decimated. Several trees around the area, including those stretching far into the distance behind him, had all been blown apart... totally destroyed. Seeing such destruction, Liyu couldn’t help but be surprised.
He knew the clone was powerful, but to achieve something like this in less than a second... that was simply terrifying.
He then turned his gaze toward the direction where the attacker had been standing. The figure wore his face; it was the hitman clone. He was holding what looked like a compact rifle, with wisps of smoke slowly rising from its barrel.
"That should teach him a lesson," the clone spoke before turning toward Liyu and giving him a firm nod, as though he had just completed another successful mission.
Liyu’s eyes twitched. Did this bastard just try to kill himself...? Well, not exactly himself, but it was still another version of him.
Of course, Liyu wasn’t too worried even if the lazy guy had been hit. After all, lazy or not, he was incredibly powerful. No, scratch that; he was monstrously powerful. And after reading all those absurd descriptions in the Clone Archive, there was no way someone like him would die from a single attack. Still, that shot had been unbelievably fast... fast enough that Liyu himself doubted he could even react to it, let alone dodge it.
"Hey... you really need to learn how to take it easy," a lazy voice echoed through the area.
Liyu instinctively turned toward the source. The lazy Liyu was casually lying on an undamaged tree branch not too far away. He looked exactly the same as before, completely unscathed.
The dark-clothed Liyu raised an eyebrow before speaking: "Actually, if I had truly intended to hit you, you would surely be dead right now."
Hearing that, the lazy Liyu slowly opened one of his closed eyes before lazily glancing toward the hitman clone. "Really...?" he asked in the same sluggish tone.
"Yes. No one escapes my shots without getting hit."
The lazy clone simply closed his eye again before speaking: "Yeah... yeah... I admit it. So just let me sleep in peace."
"You are being far too disrespectful toward the original," the hitman retorted. "Get down from that tree and show proper respect. Otherwise, I won’t hold back with my next shot." He calmly raised the rifle once more.
Before he could fire again, however, he suddenly felt a hand resting on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw Liyu standing there, his expression calm as ever, carrying only a faint smile. "You’ve done enough. Trust me, I’m more than capable of handling him myself. He’ll learn one lesson today: none of my clones get to mess with me."
However, before he straightened out this lazy clone of his, there was something else he wanted to check first. He scrolled away from the lazy clone’s archive and opened the profile of the second clone instead: The Hitman. Judging from both his actions and personality, he was already the perfect killer.
Clone Name: Liyu (Host may customize the name.)
Clone Rank: S.
Sub Rank: Mid.
Former Titles: Dead Eye, The Silent Calamity, One-Shot Executioner.
Core Personality: Absolute Obedience.
This clone views the Host as his one and only permanent employer. Orders are meant to be executed immediately, without hesitation, without unnecessary questioning. Outside of combat, he speaks very little. Disciplined to the core, he conducts himself with absolute precision.
This clone believes every mission has only two possible outcomes: Completed or Failed. Unfortunately, failure has never existed within his vocabulary.
Innate Affinity: Velocity.
Classification: Extremely Rare.
A rare affinity capable of multiplying the velocity of absolutely anything the wielder uses. Whether it be a stone, a tree branch, a weed, a sheet of paper, or any other object...
as long as he uses it as a projectile, he can increase its speed severalfold.
At his hands, even an ordinary blade of grass can become sharp enough to slice off the head of anyone foolish enough to underestimate its wielder.
Special Talent: Firearms. This clone possesses what can only be described as an almost infinite arsenal of firearms capable of firing bullets and explosive rounds formed entirely from Qi. Since the Host possesses an immense reserve of Qi, these Qi bullets are practically inexhaustible.
Coupled with the Velocity Affinity, it becomes nothing short of a nightmare for anyone unfortunate enough to stand at the receiving end of his shots.
Primary Space: Infinite Armory. Forge and summon weapons directly into existence without producing the slightest spatial fluctuation. Every single piece of clothing, every accessory, everything this clone wears functions as a perfectly concealed storage space for his countless weapons.
Combat Style: Extreme long-range elimination; slightly long to mid-range combat when necessary. Avoids prolonged battles whenever possible.
Philosophy: "If the target can still approach me, it simply means they haven’t fallen yet." This clone’s eyes perceive everything: from distance to wind flow, to turbulence within the world’s energy, to the probability of impact, along with countless other variables. To him, missing simply isn’t a possibility.
Greatest Achievement:
Accepted a contract to eliminate all one hundred thousand Overlords of his galaxy. Mission completed.
Total Contracts Accepted: Over one hundred million.
Failed Contracts: Zero.
Confirmed Misses: Zero.
Successful Kills: All.
Origin:
In yet another reality where great nations no longer feared armies, but rather special individuals capable of wielding Aether... the very force of the universe itself... a power that granted extraordinary abilities beyond imagination, there existed a single assassin whose name disappeared from every historical record.
Not because history forgot him, but because no one survived long enough to remember it. Kings bowed before him, empires and Overlords hunted him, and entire worlds tried to replicate him. Every single attempt ended in failure.
His greatest achievement wasn’t merely his countless victories; it was the terrifying fact that no target had ever... and would ever... escape his grasp after he accepted a contract.
There was an old saying: whenever Dead Eye marked you as a target, the best... and only... thing you could do was prepare your coffin. Among all assassins, only he stood at the absolute pinnacle.
System Evaluation:
Really efficient. He would undoubtedly be an extraordinary asset. This clone has mastered the use of firearms to such a terrifying degree that every other marksman appears insignificant beneath his gaze.
Liyu couldn’t help but blink as he finished reading the second clone’s complete profile within the Clone Archive. Even he had to admit, he was impressed. This guy’s achievements really didn’t fall short compared to those of the lazy fellow. Speaking of the lazy fellow, Liyu believed he needed to make one thing perfectly clear to all of his clones: he was the one in charge around here.
Immediately, he sent a wave of mental disturbance through their Mind Connection. The lazy Liyu’s eyes suddenly snapped open as he glared toward Liyu... well, calling it a glare was probably an exaggeration; the bastard was simply far too lazy to even glare properly.
"First you made me lose everything, now I’m stuck with you, and you can’t even let me sleep. What do you want?" he asked. One eye remained completely closed; the other was only half-lidded. Hearing his clone complain so casually, Liyu couldn’t help but reveal a dangerous grin.
"Nothing serious. It’s just that you’re pretty rude. Just like this guy already said. As you know, I’m the one in charge here. So you should show me a little more respect."
The lazy Liyu merely groaned before giving a lazy nod.
"I heard you. Can I sleep now?" he asked, already preparing to return to sleep. However, another wave of mental disturbance slammed directly into his mind. This time, he frowned. Well, at least Liyu thought it was a frown; it was honestly difficult to tell whether the guy was annoyed or simply too sleepy.
"I’m still speaking. You don’t get to sleep until I allow it."
The lazy Liyu let out another exhausted sigh. "So... what do you want then?"
Liyu’s grin widened. "Defeat me, and you can sleep for as long as you want afterward."
The lazy Liyu raised an eyebrow. He remained silent for a long while. Finally, he slowly jumped down from the tree. His feet touched the ground without making even the slightest sound.
He slowly opened one eye completely; the other remained shut. That alone told Liyu everything he needed to know: this damn brat was underestimating him, and by quite a large margin as well.
"I accept your challenge. So let’s get this over with already." He sighed before quietly muttering, "Too troublesome..."
Liyu’s eyes narrowed as his grin widened... not the grin of a normal human, but his signature lunatic grin. He even clapped his hands together happily, as though he were about to enjoy a grand celebration rather than a fight. "You’re pretty confident in your abilities, aren’t you?"
Liyu’s pupils gradually narrowed into slits. His fingers elongated, transforming into razor-sharp claws. His teeth lengthened into deadly fangs. His hair grew slightly longer and considerably thicker. His grin only widened further.
"You must be strong, but trust me, you have absolutely no idea how strong I really am. And today, you’ll be both unlucky... and lucky... to find out."
The moment those words left his mouth, a terrifying wave of Primal Qi burst outward. The surrounding air itself became primal, and everything within the area suddenly felt vastly more dangerous.
For the very first time, the lazy Liyu’s expression changed. The battle between the original and one of his own clones had finally begun.
