Chapter 931

Thankfully, during the five-day stay in the dorm room assigned to Anton, Oliver was there for most of the day, teaching him the basics of being a member of Traveler’s Haven.

Even though Anton wasn’t allowed to leave the city- the city that belonged to the Traveler’s Haven organization- he wasn’t a prisoner in his dorm room. He was allowed to roam around the enormous complex that consisted of the countless buildings that made up Traveler’s Haven.

First of all, Oliver introduced him to the people on the floor where he was staying, which basically meant that they were his batchmates. The issue was that there were only four of them, making Anton the fifth and final member of their batch.

“A batch would usually contain an average of five people. In the grand scheme of things in Traveler’s Haven, your relationship with your batchmates isn’t significant, but it’s still a good idea for a novice traveler to form connections. Usually, your batchmates are the first people you become acquainted with. I’ll be guiding the five of you,” Oliver said.

Anton’s guide brought him to the sitting room where he would meet his batchmates. When he arrived, he saw two men and two women waiting for him.

Based on their appearances, Anton guessed that his batchmates were in their mid-to-late twenties.

After Oliver introduced Anton to everyone, their guide left to give them time to get acquainted. He said that he would return in a few hours to teach them more about the rules that novice travelers needed to know during their stay in the organization.

Anton was a little happy that he wouldn’t be alone. Having a group of people around would at least keep him from getting bored while waiting for their assigned teacher to acknowledge them.

Oliver had basically just told everyone their names and left the responsibility of actually getting to know one another to them. Because of that, Anton introduced himself again, this time in greater detail.

His batchmates were Mendel, a twenty-four-year-old merchant’s son and a citizen of Remuth; Luisa, a twenty-six-year-old scholar from one of Remuth’s universities; Arnold, the son of a minor noble, also from Remuth; and Marygold, a twenty-eight-year-old seamstress, also from Remuth.

Anton could understand how Mendel, Luisa, and Arnold had passed the exams. They appeared affluent enough to have received the education necessary to answer the questions.

Marygold’s story, however, was different. She told them that she had been an orphan before becoming a seamstress.

After Anton introduced himself in greater detail, he thought his young age gave him an excuse to ask questions that some people might consider intrusive.

He directly asked Marygold where she had learned the knowledge that allowed her to answer the exam questions.

Marygold simply smiled and told him that when she was younger, her neighbor had been a tutor to nobles and possessed a massive collection of books in her home. Because Marygold helped the old tutor every day with chores such as cleaning and laundry, the woman had allowed her to study her books.

Thankfully, Marygold didn’t seem to mind Anton’s question. However, she did ask why he believed that he was still a Supreme Rank wizard. Based on what the wizards from Traveler’s Haven had told them about the rebirth process, it should have taken Anton anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to regain his wizardry rank.

“Oh, I’ve already regained it,” Anton admitted.

His statement left his four batchmates flabbergasted.

“How old are you again?” Mendel asked.

Anton reiterated his age.

He also informed them that he had already been a Supreme Rank wizard for a year.

Anton told them about some of his past experiences, which took a few minutes. Afterward, Arnold commented that his past sounded like an epic tale.

Anton admitted that it was.

The four didn’t doubt his story since Anton mentioned that Traveler’s Haven had already confirmed his background. The organization had a reputation for uncovering the truth about anyone or anything they investigated.

When Anton told them that his family owned the cinema, the blank looks on his batchmates’ faces reminded him that the movies still hadn’t spread to this continent.

He explained the movies to them because they were the cornerstone of his desire to become a multidimensional traveler.

From what Anton had gathered from Norberto, the Invincible Rank wizard who had conducted his final interview, most of the people accepted by Traveler’s Haven were adventurers at heart. They possessed a deep desire to travel to different lands, worlds, and dimensions.

That information made Anton happy. It meant that the people within the organization were, in a sense, his true kindred spirits.

He told his batchmates that his family’s legacy bloodline magic allowed him to open a window to another world and that his movies came from there.

He had to explain the concept of movies to them, which immediately intrigued the four of them. They eventually managed to extract a promise from Anton that he would let them watch some of the movies that had inspired his desire to become a multidimensional traveler.

After their conversation, they went outside to eat at one of the many restaurants inside the organization.

One of the benefits of being a member of Traveler’s Haven was that necessities such as food and drinks were provided free of charge.

They reached a nearby restaurant and continued talking while they ate.

Anton thought that, at the very least, his batchmates seemed easy to get along with.

When they returned to their dormitory, Oliver was already there waiting for them. He handed them thick booklets containing the basic rules and regulations that every member of Traveler’s Haven was required to follow.

Afterward, Oliver told them that they had the rest of the day to study the rulebook and that he would return the next day to teach them more about things that weren’t covered in it.

Anton and his new batchmates promptly ignored Oliver’s instructions and simply roamed around the city that was Traveler’s Haven.

They were amazed by the sheer scale of the facilities.

The armories, which consisted of several buildings, contained all types of weapons, armor, and other gadgets used for battle. They came from different worlds.

Anton’s jaw dropped when he saw that some of them could rival the technology he had seen in science-fiction movies.

The problem was that the items were displayed behind glass cases, and they could only learn how some of them worked by reading the descriptions posted in front of each item. Novice travelers were not allowed to touch any of the items in the armories, especially those considered extremely dangerous.

What truly amazed Anton was the fact that the technology behind some of the items relied on completely different energy sources.

Some gadgets operated using mana, some used electricity, while others relied on energy sources Anton had never even heard of.

What was chaos energy? Or fate energy?

Some of the gadgets required those kinds of power to function.

The best part was that there were crystal globes that functioned as monitors. They could display recordings demonstrating how some of the more unique items worked, provided that visitors paid for the service.

Since Anton felt that he had enough funds, he spent some of his mana stones to watch demonstrations of the gadgets that interested him.

Some of the items worked exactly as he expected based on their appearances and the descriptions he had read. Others, however, surprised him greatly when he watched the recordings of them being used.

Everything he saw in the armories made Anton realize that his decision to join Traveler’s Haven had been the correct one.
