Chapter 932
Chapter 932
Anton started wondering why the technology in this world had remained relatively unchanged, even though it was obvious that some of its more powerful wizards had been able to travel to different dimensions, including worlds with highly advanced technology.
After spending more time examining the armories, he realized that most of the wizards who brought back technological artifacts as loot had never bothered to study what made the gadgets work. Aside from learning what types of energy sources the devices used and recording people using them, they seemed to have little interest in understanding their underlying technology.
When Anton thought about it, he realized that, more than likely, the wizards already possessed powers that allowed them to navigate or even conquer those dimensions with ease, and probably thought they had little need for such devices.
The only things that would truly interest the wizards were those that could enhance their personal power.
Of course, it was only Anton’s theory. Once he was accepted by a wizard as a student and taught the skills that would allow him to travel to different dimensions, he might be able to learn more about the things he was wondering about.
After several hours, Anton and his four batchmates had only explored about a third of the armories, and those were only the ones open to general members. They had already seen that there were armories restricted to lower-ranking travelers.
Still, what they had seen was enough to galvanize not only Anton but also the rest of his batchmates. They could almost taste the adventures waiting for them among the stars.
Even after the sun had set, the five batchmates continued roaming around. They were delighted to learn that the city within the Traveler’s Haven home base in Remuth was open twenty-four hours a day.
After eating at one of the many restaurants, they headed to the visual library, as instructed in the booklet Oliver had given them.
The booklet of rules not only contained the regulations that novice travelers were supposed to follow. It also contained a general map showing some of the locations inside Traveler’s Haven.
Anton and his batchmates could only enter the first floor of the visual library because the upper floors were restricted to higher-ranking travelers. Even so, that was more than enough for them because the floor was enormous.
The first floor contained thousands upon thousands of crystal globes. Below each crystal globe was a description of the place that the traveler who made the recording had visited.
The five batchmates became extremely excited, but after examining several of the crystal globe recordings, they were a little disappointed. Apparently, the locations recorded on the first floor were only places found in their own world.
According to one of the wizards managing the visual library, the recordings of different worlds and dimensions were stored on the second floor and above. Those floors could only be accessed by travelers ranked higher than novices.
The floor manager also told them that, technically, they were not official novice travelers yet because they still did not have the badges identifying them as such. Those would only be provided once a teacher accepted them.
What worried them was that teachers had the right to choose their students. That meant there was a chance that what Oliver had told them—that a teacher would be assigned to them in five days—wasn't guaranteed.

That was when prospective teachers would be able to examine their profiles and choose their new students based on them.
Anton knew that the visual library floor manager was deliberately scaring them, and it was working. Before they started exploring Traveler’s Haven, the five of them had already considered themselves official members. According to the floor manager, however, half of newly accepted prospective members might remain without a teacher for months.
According to him, the record holder had been someone who was only accepted by a teacher after an entire year.
Anton internally shrugged. He was confident that a teacher would accept him immediately. His power and reputation were enough to make him confident of that. The portal scroll alone was a strong indicator of his importance.
After receiving that worrying information about teachers accepting students, Anton and his batchmates returned to their dormitory to rest.
The five of them couldn't sleep, so they spent most of the night studying the booklet Oliver had given them.
The next day, Oliver arrived early. Their archmage guide told them to have breakfast first but instructed them to return to the dormitory immediately afterward so he could begin the lesson he had prepared for them.
Once Oliver's lesson began, Anton and his batchmates learned a great deal. They were introduced to some of the intricacies governing the organization and its operations.
After their four-hour lesson, Mendel asked Oliver about what the visual library floor manager had told them. Their guide admitted that it was true.
Oliver told them that it was simply the way things worked and that they would have to accept it. At the very least, however, no prospective member had ever remained without a teacher for more than a year.
After Oliver left, the worry surrounding his batchmates about not being immediately accepted as students prevented them from continuing to explore.
To take their minds off the depressing possibility, Arnold asked Anton about his promise to show them the movies that had inspired him to become a multidimensional traveler.

Even though Anton would have preferred to continue exploring the organization, he eventually gave in to Arnold's request. He prepared the living room as a makeshift cinema, but he told them that they would watch only one film. Afterward, they would continue exploring so they could learn more about Traveler’s Haven.
He then let them watch Star Wars: Episode IV.
As expected, his batchmates thoroughly enjoyed the movie and managed to extract a promise from him that he would let them watch the second film in the series.
After leaving their dormitory, the five batchmates found the mission hall. Like the visual library, the only part accessible to them was the first floor.
The mission hall contained missions that travelers could undertake, and they saw that the first-floor missions were mostly similar to those offered to ordinary adventurers through the Adventurer Guild.
Thankfully, most of the members they encountered were amiable toward new members and did not hesitate to share general information with them as long as they weren't busy.
One of the receptionists told them that the missions on the first floor were missions that could be completed in this world. The missions on the upper floors required travelers to journey to other worlds or dimensions, and the majority of those missions involved gathering resources.
Since they could only access the first floor, Anton and his batchmates reviewed the available missions. They saw that most of them were indeed requests to gather materials, ingredients, and resources that wizards needed to create portals or conduct experiments.
What amused Anton greatly was finding a mission requesting that travelers hand over a Sunder Family portal scroll.
Anton called his batchmates over and pointed out the mission to them.
His batchmates read the mission and then turned toward him with questioning looks on their faces.
“My name is Anton Sunder, and the portal scrolls came from my family,” he told them.
“So, do you have portal scrolls?” Marygold asked.
Anton simply nodded.
“Can we see one?”
“Sure, but later, when we're back in our dorm.”
After that, they left the mission hall and continued exploring. Eventually, they found the zoo.
The zoo was enormous, and the section open to them contained exotic creatures that could be found in this world. Anton was glad that Traveler’s Haven did not imprison any sentient creatures.
They were intrigued, however, when they learned that there were sections containing creatures from other worlds and dimensions.
Sadly, those areas were not open to them.
