Chapter 880

The Melinda arrived at the Islands of Meronoma. This time, Anton didn’t cause any trouble. He simply waited with the other passengers for the ship to dock at one of the island’s many ports. He didn’t even join the passengers who excitedly rushed to disembark.

Of course, Anton also wanted to feel the land beneath his feet, but his longing was not as strong as it had been when the ship arrived at the previous island.

“Why didn’t you fly toward the island?” Paul asked him.

Paul, Eric, and some of their friends were with him, looking at the islands from one of the many decks that overlooked the port.

“I don’t want to cause any trouble, so I decided to wait.”

In truth, one of the ship’s Invincible-rank wizards had spoken with him regarding flying toward the islands. He had warned Anton that the island was home to powerful elves and that its formidable defenses would activate if someone suddenly flew toward it without notifying the citizens.

According to the old wizard, one-third of the island’s population consisted of elves, and they were the rulers of the islands. Since the elves were prideful, the ship mostly conducted trade with the humans and other races on the island, such as the halflings.

Anton was also warned not to display his enchanting abilities disrespectfully. If he truly wanted to sell his creations, he needed to take it seriously and price his items accordingly.

That meant no more toy wands for children.

Because the island was home to elves, Anton wanted to explore it. The issue was that the elves of these islands were different from the typical elves, who were often standoffish and reluctant to engage in even minor dealings with humans.

Anton knew that with his movies, he could potentially form a relationship with them, just like what had happened with the forest elves in the northern forest of Ormunda.

The problem was that the ship would only stay on the islands for three days. That was nowhere near enough time to build a relationship with the elves.

At the very least, the old Invincible-rank wizard who spoke with Anton told him that the elves of the Islands of Meronoma had opened certain areas for travelers to visit. They were essentially approved tourist destinations.

Anton would simply have to be satisfied with that.

Once most of the passengers had disembarked, Anton, who was now alone since his friends had returned to their families, also left the ship.

Looking at the different races gathered at the port, which was far more diverse compared to the previous island that was predominantly human, Anton couldn’t help but feel a little excited.

The races were typical of their kind. The elves were tall and beautiful, the halflings were adorable due to their small stature, the dwarves were stout and rough, and the other races displayed traits that matched their usual characteristics.

Anton avoided the typical tourist activities happening around the port and directly walked along the road he believed would lead toward the center of the island.

After a few minutes, he finally left the port and entered the main city that surrounded it.

However, the city was a human city, which disappointed Anton slightly since it looked no different from the cities he could find on the Gale Continent.

Still, he continued exploring.

Eventually, he found a street filled with shops. He entered what appeared to be a store selling weapons and armor.

It was a fairly popular shop, as several customers were examining the weapons displayed on the shelves. Most of them looked like adventurers or mercenaries, which made Anton realize that the Islands of Meronoma were much larger than the previous island.

More than likely, there were dungeons here.

Even if he was interested in exploring them, three days was far too short.

The items in the shop consisted of both ordinary and magical equipment. The normal weapons and armor were casually displayed on the shelves, while the magical items were stored behind glass-protected cases.

Based on the mana emanating from the glass, the enchantments protecting them were quite powerful. Customers interested in magical items needed the assistance of a salesperson.

Anton left after a few more minutes because the items in the shop did not interest him. He also wanted to check out some spellbook shops.

Even though he would undergo the process known as Rebirth once he joined a magical organization in Izmorta, it wouldn’t hurt to have spells that he could use after he was allowed to memorize spells again.

On second thought, Anton decided not to waste his dwindling funds on spellbooks. He didn’t know what kind of magic system the Izmortans used, so buying random spells might be pointless.

Anton entered a magic item shop instead. He was curious about what kind of items he could find.

He was slightly surprised when he saw that the person managing the counter was an elf. There were also several customers inside.

He browsed through the items on display and was surprised by some of their effects. Based on what he saw, most of the magical items were either created by elves or made by humans attempting to imitate elven craftsmanship.

What surprised Anton the most was their prices.

They were astronomical.

Suddenly, he thought about his Mithril Tablet of Magic Defenses. He still had a few left and wondered how much he could sell them for.

He approached the elf at the counter.

“The prices of your items are so high that I can’t afford any of them. I need funds. Can you check how much my item is worth if I sell it to you?” Anton asked.

“Sure. Are you one of the passengers from the Melinda?” the elf asked.

Anton nodded.

He handed the elf one of his Mithril Tablets of Defensive Spells and explained the four spells that could be activated using the tablet.

He had to provide detailed explanations about how the spells worked, how to recharge the mana battery, and the lifespan of the mithril tablet.

Although the elf tried to hide his emotions, Anton noticed his growing excitement.

That meant the tablet was valuable.

Anton then told the elf that his magic tablet was one of the few surviving tablets from the war between the living and the undead on the Rendindura Continent.

The elf invited him to the back of the shop so he and his colleagues could examine the tablet more closely.

Anton agreed and followed him.

He was led into a private room while the elf spoke with a passing colleague about what he needed.

Once they were inside, the elf told Anton that another colleague would arrive soon to help inspect the tablet.

A minute later, they heard a knock on the door.

When the elf opened it, a servant entered carrying a pitcher filled with some kind of fruit juice.

Anton enjoyed the delicious, ice-cold drink while he waited.

Soon, another elf entered.

The elf was an extremely beautiful and elegant woman who, in Anton’s opinion, looked like a queen.

However, that thought didn’t mean much. After all, if an elven woman made enough effort, almost any one of them could appear queenly.

The male elf spoke with the woman, and from what Anton could understand, their conversation was about the tablet’s abilities.

After a while, the elven woman turned toward Anton.

“Excuse me, Sir Wizard. Are you Supreme Anton Sunders?” the woman asked.

Anton was surprised. He simply nodded.

“That means you are the creator of this tablet. My name is Invincible Noreshanae. Are you willing to sell this item to us? You are aware that we will do our best to determine the concepts behind the spells on this tablet if you sell it to us, correct?” the beautiful elf woman said.
