Chapter 864
Chapter 864
Anton, Paul, and Eric joined some of the other young people from the Bottom in roaming around the ship, trying to find something enjoyable to do that would not cost them any coins. Anton was being considerate toward the others since he knew that, unlike him, they did not have a single coin to their name.
Because of that, they mostly spent their time moving from deck to deck, trying to find the best views. However, it was futile since the only thing they could see was the endless ocean. Eventually, they decided to stay on a relatively unknown deck in the Middle Section and spent hours singing songs while playing the instruments they carried with them.
With Anton’s trusted guitar, which had been with him for a long time, he entertained everyone with songs from Earth. He mostly chose songs that best showcased his tenor voice, particularly rock songs from the eighties on Earth. Anton was a good singer, so everyone enjoyed their time listening to him. Once he grew tired of singing, he passed the attention to the others, who also started singing songs that were popular in the places they came from.
After spending a few hours simply hanging out with the other young people, Anton decided to treat everyone at one of the many restaurants in the Middle Section of the ship. While they were eating, everyone talked about their excitement about reaching the ship’s next destination, the Islands of Rokutua. The ship would arrive there in about two more weeks and would stay for three days to rest and resupply.
Anton told everyone that he planned to explore the entire island.
“That would be difficult to do in just three days. The Island of Rokutua is a large place,” one of the young people said.
At Anton’s request, four tables were placed side by side so everyone could eat together. The restaurant was more than willing to accommodate him since he had already given them a deposit of several tens of gold coins.
“It would be difficult if I explored the whole place normally. I plan to use magic to do it, like flying around,” Anton said.
“You can fly?!” one of the girls asked with a surprised expression.
“Yes. I’m a Supreme Rank mage. Why wouldn’t I be able to fly?” Anton casually replied while continuing to eat.
His words fell like a bomb among them, bringing silence to the group. Anton looked slightly surprised by their reaction.
“Didn’t you all know that? I thought Paul or Eric would have shared that information with everyone by now,” Anton said.
Paul smiled awkwardly.
“We didn’t tell anyone because we thought you didn’t want something that important to become known to others.”
“Why would I want that kept secret? The ship’s management already knows, and I never asked you to hide it,” Anton said, causing Paul to simply shake his head.
“How old are you again, Anton?” one of the young people asked.
“I’m twenty.”
“You’re only twenty, and you’ve already reached the Supreme Wizard Rank? Why would you join a magic organization in Izmorta? Don’t you know that if you do something like that, you’ll have to start from scratch?” another young man asked with disbelief written across his face.
“I want to learn how to travel to different realms, and based on my research, the Izmortans are one of the few groups capable of providing me with that ability. Besides, I’m still young, and I consider myself talented. Even if I have to start from scratch, I believe I can regain my rank in a short amount of time,” Anton said nonchalantly.
For several minutes, silence reigned among the group. The idea that they were eating with a powerful Supreme Rank wizard intimidated most of the young people there. However, when they saw that Paul and Eric continued behaving normally around Anton, even to the point where their behavior could be considered disrespectful if one took Anton’s rank into account, they finally realized that Anton did not care about his status, separating him from others.
Paul and Eric’s crude jokes with Anton made everyone understand that nothing had truly changed. Anton was still the same person he had been a few minutes earlier, before they knew he was a Supreme Rank wizard.
In truth, most of them considered themselves lucky that Anton continued spending time with them. Normally, someone as wealthy and powerful as he would never lower himself to spend time with a group of commoners. They also learned that although Anton was supposed to have a noble title, Paul and Eric had shared that his family had once been ordinary farmers.
The fact that Anton was extremely generous and had treated them several times already was what made them feel fortunate that he had joined their group.
Everyone believed that the luckiest members of their group were Paul and Eric. The two had openly talked about the things Anton had already treated them to, including the luxurious restaurants in the Noble Section and the entertainment venues there.
At first, some of them believed that Paul and Eric were simply taking advantage of Anton. However, they stopped thinking that way after learning that Anton had reached such a lofty rank in wizardry and had even participated in the war against the Undead Coalition.
Someone like that would never be fooled by a couple of hillbillies like Paul and Eric.
After dinner, Anton invited them all to go swimming at one of the most luxurious venues in the Noble Section. Normally, it would have been difficult for them to enter such a prestigious place, but the fact that it was already two in the morning meant that the swimming pool was likely empty, allowing them all to enjoy themselves.
They knew they would not encounter any resistance from the ship’s crew or the pool’s managers. They would not dare offend a Supreme Rank wizard like Anton, and their assumption turned out to be correct.
They spent the entire night enjoying themselves in the swimming pool area until the sun began to rise. Afterward, they all returned to where their families were staying to rest and inform them that they were safe.
Anton returned to his rooms and began leveling up a new ladder character. The next character he chose was the Barbarian. He decided to complete the Diablo II characters he was less interested in first and save his favorites for last, which were the magic casters.
After the Barbarian, he planned to level up the Assassin, followed by the Amazon.
After a couple of weeks, Anton managed to reach the maximum level with his ladder Barbarian and ladder Amazon characters. He could have reached the maximum level for his ladder Amazon character sooner, but he took breaks to spend time with his friends and enjoy the different sections of the ship.
What Anton did not know was that some nobles had filed complaints regarding him and his friends roaming around the Noble Section, even though Anton was the only one who was officially allowed to do so.
If it had only been Paul and Eric accompanying him, the nobles likely would not have cared. However, the fact that there were around twenty young men and women in their group made them highly noticeable.
The problem was that even though some of the nobles making complaints were influential individuals, with some even being high-ranking wizards, they could not do anything against Anton.
The moment they learned that Anton was a Supreme Rank wizard who had reached such a rank at such a young age, they understood that they were beneath him in terms of status. Adding the fact that the captain had informed some truly important figures that Anton was a major contributor to the war against the undead and that his family was responsible for providing the now-famous portal scrolls, Anton had become untouchable on the ship.
The captain told them that they should be grateful Anton was not a troublesome person because if he were, dealing with the situation would have become a massive headache for everyone.
