Chapter 872

For the remaining time before the ship departed from the Island of Rokutua, Anton focused on leveling up his newly created ladder Assassin character. Compared to his previous ladder seasons, Anton knew that his current leveling speed was extremely fast simply because he had nothing else to do while aboard the ship.

The more than year-long journey from the Gale Continent to Izmorta would allow him to complete two ladder seasons. Anton knew that for both seasons during the voyage, he would have no trouble leveling all eight Diablo II ladder characters simply because he was spending most of his time on the ship.

During the current ladder season, Anton had already reached the maximum level with three characters: the Warlock, the Barbarian, and the Amazon. After reaching the maximum level with those characters, he could feel himself growing stronger because twenty percent of the primary stats from those characters were transferred to his body in the real world.

He had also transferred the Hellfire Torches for the Necromancer, Assassin, and Barbarian. He had already transferred the Hellfire Torch to seven of the eight Diablo II characters. He only needed to transfer the Hellfire Torch for the Amazon character, and he would have the complete set.

Anton’s Diablo II system only allowed him to stack eight Hellfire Torches, one for each Diablo II character. That meant that after acquiring the Assassin’s torch, he would need to think of other items he could transfer from the game into the real world.

Anton considered simply following through with his promise of giving four of the eight item transfer slots to his father and sister. This was despite the fact that Anders and Anna had already told him that he did not need to give them his items anymore since they now had access to the ladder season and could collect items for themselves.

When he thought about it, sooner or later, he would be able to obtain all of the most powerful items. When that time came, the ability to transfer items from the game to the real world would no longer be as important.

After several hours of leveling his ladder Assassin character, Anton exited the game and went to the deck to watch the ship leave Rokutua. He did not bother any of his friends since he knew they were probably still busy helping their families and taking note of the supplies they had purchased from Rokutua to support their lives aboard the ship for the rest of the journey.

Anton knew that the families of his friends who had managed to obtain one of his toy wands were extremely happy. They had been able to earn a large amount of gold coins by selling the wands to the wizards of Rokutua and the ship. Some of them told him that the gold they earned from the sales was used to purchase items from the Rokutuans, both for consumption during the journey and for selling once they reached Izmorta.

Soon, the time for departure arrived. Anton watched as the ship sailed away from the Island of Rokutua.

Although he was somewhat unimpressed by the island since it did not have many diverse attractions, he still cherished the rest it had provided them during their time at sea.

Soon, Anton could no longer see the land. Suddenly, he felt a little foolish. Before reaching Rokutua, he had planned to return to Ormunda and visit his father and sister once they reached solid ground, since he could only use the Town Portal scroll while on land. The fact that he had completely forgotten about it made him wonder if he was becoming senile.

It was an exaggeration, of course. The main reason he forgot was simply that it had not been a priority.

After a moment, Anton shrugged. It was not that important since he could still communicate with his father and sister through his Diablo System. He could even meet them once they entered the game.

Even though Anders had told his children that he would use the pair of magic earrings to summon them if he needed to speak with them, they still scheduled a meeting at the end of the month.

The meeting was simply for them to talk since each of them could now enter the multiplayer option of Anton’s Diablo II system independently during the ladder season and level up their own ladder characters.

After a while, Anton returned to his room and continued leveling his ladder Assassin character.

The next day, Anton assumed that his friends would still be busy with their families, so he decided to continue focusing on leveling. Whenever he became hungry, he would leave his room and go to the nearest restaurant to eat. Afterward, he would return and rest by either watching a movie, a television show, an anime, or reading a novel.

For the next few days, no one disturbed him since Anton had already arranged with his friends that he would notify them of his availability by using one of his Raven summons.

When the day arrived for him to meet with his family, his earring lit up, informing him that Anders had created a game inside the multiplayer option of Anton’s Diablo System and was waiting for him to join.

Since Anton had been idling his time while watching a sitcom, he entered the multiplayer option of Diablo II through his Diablo System, found the game his father had created, entered the agreed-upon password, and joined.

Anders and Anna were already waiting for him inside Atma’s Tavern in Lut Gholein.

Anton found it amusing that they had chosen Atma’s Tavern as their meeting place. It was the most suitable location for them to gather. The Rogue Encampment was dilapidated, the Kurast Docks were humid and smelled unpleasant, the Pandemonium Fortress was simply creepy, and Harrogath was far too cold.

“I received news that the Melinda had reached the Island of Rokutua. I thought you would return to the Rose Manor once you reached land,” Anders said.

“I explored the entire island and forgot. I only remembered after the ship had already departed Rokutua,” Anton replied with a shrug.

Anna laughed at his response.

For the next few hours, the three of them talked about what had happened in their lives while Anton had been aboard the ship.

Anna had been busy studying, but she had not neglected dungeon delving. She wanted to increase the level of her primary Diablo II character, the Sorceress.

She had not encountered any issues during her delves simply because she had become powerful. Her Sorceress class was supported by her Paladin class from the regular multiplayer option and was further enhanced by the spells she had memorized from the standard magic system.

Because of her frequent dungeon exploration, her progress had been fast. One result of her delving was that she had saved a large number of mana stones, meaning she no longer needed financial support from the family.

Anders simply shook his head when he heard what Anna had said. Anton knew that their father had already accepted the fact that his children had become powerful enough to support themselves.

Anton also knew that the main reason his father had accepted this reality so easily was that he now had a new family to support. His new wife had two children from her previous husband, who had passed away, and she was currently pregnant with Anders’s son.

There had not been much change in Anders’s situation. Anton and Anna’s father was still busy establishing Oakswood City, and it would take a long time before the place became truly stable.

“By the way, Father, remember that I can now bestow a Diablo II class to a third person. Do you want me to bestow a class to one of my step-siblings?” Anton asked.

“Not yet. They are both too young. Maybe in a few years,” Anders replied.
