Chapter 895
Chapter 895
Second Officer Liemdal and Supreme Baturin told Anton that, because of the relationship they had developed with him after assisting with his trade with the Meronoma elves, the captain and Supreme Olemena had each given them one of Anton's creations, including a Tablet of Defensive Spells and a Tablet of Support Spells.
Liemdal said he had been thoroughly enjoying the items because they made his quarters much more comfortable. He added that using the Frozen Orb Air Conditioner together with the Fire Wall Stove allowed him to adjust the temperature of his room exactly as he pleased.
The officer also appreciated that he no longer needed to hire a wizard to recharge the items. He simply replaced the mana stones whenever necessary, and to his surprise, even a single low-level Mana Stone lasted for quite some time.
Supreme Baturin admitted that he intended to dismantle the items to study them and that they would most likely be destroyed during the process.
Anton merely shrugged.
"I expected something like that to happen if my creations ended up in the hands of wizards."
"Aren't you worried that other wizards will be able to copy the mana structures inside your items?" Baturin asked.
"I honestly don't mind," Anton replied. "I created these items to make people's lives more comfortable. If other wizards can copy them—or even improve upon them—then all the better. There's nothing wrong with making everyday life easier. That's why I focus on creating lifestyle magic items. I don't want any of my creations to become tools of widespread destruction."
"Are you truly comfortable with that?" Baturin asked. "If your magic items are copied, you're giving up an enormous amount of potential wealth."
Anton simply shrugged again.
"To be honest, ever since my magic awakened, I've realized there are countless ways for me to earn money. Through my access to a dimension centered around art, my family has built a successful business, and we're already earning more wealth than we need. If I ever require additional funds, I can easily clear a high-level dungeon by myself. My father and sister can now do the same. I doubt my family will ever lack a source of income."
Anton was amused when Liemdal informed him that the captain had approved a cosplay convention to entertain the wealthy passengers aboard the ship.
"That means some nobles and wizards will probably come looking for you over the next few days to learn more about what you call a cosplay convention," the second officer said. "I believe the idea originated from one of your friends. It spread among the young nobles, who have become avid fans of your movies, before eventually reaching their parents. Since many of them have grown bored during the voyage, they think the convention will help relieve the monotony."
Baturin snorted.
"Only wizards below the rank of Archmage who choose to associate with nobles would waste their time on such entertainment."
Anton smiled at the old wizard's obvious disdain.
He knew that many powerful wizards—especially those who had reached the highest levels of magical mastery—could not understand why anyone would devote time to entertainment instead of pursuing greater magical power.

Still, Anton also knew that someone as old as Baturin possessed enough wisdom to understand why people, even wizards, eventually sought enjoyment. The old wizard was merely venting his frustrations.
After all, those who had lived long lives—or accumulated enough wealth that they no longer needed to struggle—naturally searched for new forms of excitement. Anton believed that was also one of the reasons the elves had become so fascinated with movies.
He theorized that the difference between the long lives of elves and those of powerful wizards, as well as wealthy nobles, was that wizards always believed they needed more time to pursue greater magical power. Because of that, they rarely had the opportunity to concern themselves with life's smaller pleasures.
Anton assured Liemdal that he would politely assist anyone responsible for organizing the cosplay convention.
The truth was that he had very little else to occupy his time.
Aside from spending a few hours each day playing his Diablo games and several more hours socializing with his friends, he mostly surfed the internet, watched movies and television shows, and read novels. His boredom was precisely what had motivated him to improve his magic items.
After Liemdal and Baturin departed, Anton returned to thinking about further improvements to his creations.
He considered developing a more elegant method of turning his magic items on and off instead of relying on ordinary mechanical switches. However, he eventually decided that the switches had become something of a signature feature that distinguished his creations.
He also thought about inventing entirely new magic items, but he was already satisfied with the lifestyle-oriented devices he had developed. He had no interest in creating offensive weapons, and as far as defensive equipment was concerned, his tablets already fulfilled that role.
Instead, Anton concluded that the best use of his time would be creating original spells based on the abilities from Diablo II.
He knew he had to begin with the fundamentals if he wanted to do it properly.
Simply recreating spells that already existed—such as Thunder Bolt or Acid Bolt—would accomplish nothing.
His goal was to design entirely new spell structures inspired by his Diablo II abilities. More importantly, he hoped that once such spells were successfully created, they would be recorded within whatever part of his existence housed the Diablo System rather than among the standard spells stored in his mind.
If that happened, then even if Izmorta's rebirth process erased every conventional spell he knew, the spells connected to his Diablo System would remain untouched.
At this point, Anton was confident that the rebirth process itself would not affect the Diablo System.
During the past few weeks, he had spoken extensively with Supreme Baturin about the wizards of Izmorta. According to the old wizard, the rebirth process no longer affected those who had reached the Invincible Rank.
Since Anton believed his Diablo System possessed power comparable to—or perhaps even greater than—that of a Divine Rank Wizard, he doubted it would be influenced by the rebirth process.
His new concern was the opposite.
What if the rebirth process failed to affect him altogether?
If that happened, there was a possibility that Izmorta's magical organizations would refuse to recognize or accept him.
Anton simply shrugged.
If that problem arose, he would deal with it then.
For now, there were several standard spells he wanted to recreate through his Diablo System, including the Cleaning Spell, Underwater Breathing, and several others.
He decided the best place to begin was with the Cleaning Spell.
Fortunately, the spell existed in several levels of complexity. Anton chose to start with the simplest version—a cantrip-level Cleaning Spell.
He spent the rest of the day carefully studying its mana structure.
By the time night fell, he finally paused his research and headed outside for dinner.
He visited one of his favorite restaurants aboard the ship.
Only a few minutes after he sat down, Paul and Eric arrived to join him, exactly as he had expected.
Anton had no idea how his friends' information network worked, but they somehow always seemed to know where he was anywhere on the ship.
A few minutes later, more of their friends began arriving one after another until the table was filled with cheerful conversation.
After dinner, they persuaded Anton to spend a little more time with them.
He happily obliged, passing several enjoyable hours playing his guitar, singing songs, and teaching his friends more music from Earth.
