Chapter 877

Anton looked around for a while as he watched the first movie in The Incredibles films. As expected, everyone had wide eyes. The setting of the animated film was an alternate Earth around 1962, yet the technology displayed in the movie was already advanced enough to fascinate everyone watching.

He knew that another concept his friends might find strange was superheroes. The idea of people possessing extraordinary powers was normal to them. Wizards and warriors with powerful abilities walked among them, but the idea that people with such powers would become heroes who saved others from disasters and fought other superpowered villains simply because they believed it was their responsibility—as people blessed with extraordinary abilities—was an unfamiliar concept.

In their world, people with great power usually had their own reasons for using it. The idea of someone willingly taking on the role of a protector without seeking payment or reward was something they found difficult to understand.

At the very least, they understood from Anton’s explanation that the movie was called an animation and was primarily created for children. This helped them understand why the film looked the way it did—the unusual structures, exaggerated facial features, and colorful environments were designed to appeal to children.

However, even knowing that the movie was meant for children, everyone still enjoyed it immensely. Anton could see the excitement and joy on their faces as they experienced something completely different from anything they had encountered before.

After The Incredibles ended, everyone went to the buffet table that the manager of the Hall of Opulence had discreetly prepared at the back of the room.

They already knew that the food had arrived a few minutes before the movie ended because they could smell the heavenly aroma coming from the various dishes prepared by the chefs using the kraken tentacle meat.

“You were right, Anton. This is the best meat I have ever tasted!” Eric exclaimed with his mouth full.

The people eating beside them wholeheartedly agreed with Eric’s statement. Anton and Paul simply ignored him, as they were too busy enjoying the food in front of them.

Once everyone had satisfied their hunger, they continued eating to savor the unique and rare flavor of the kraken tentacle meat while discussing the movie they had just watched.

Anton’s friends talked about the world where The Incredibles took place. The wonder on their faces as they discussed the different technological devices shown in the film amused Anton. When he explained that the setting of the movie was actually decades behind the current era of the dimension it came from—and that the technology there had advanced much further—everyone found it difficult to believe.

It was not because they thought Anton was lying. They simply found it difficult to imagine such advanced technology without seeing it themselves.

The meal lasted for several hours. The manager of the Hall of Opulence was grateful that Anton allowed him and his family to join them for the feast.

After lunch ended, everyone complained that they had overeaten. However, they soon continued by watching The Incredibles 2.

Overall, Anton enjoyed spending time with his friends and watching the movies together. Afterward, he returned to his room to continue leveling up his ladder character.

A couple of days later, he was interrupted by the captain, who asked for more movies. Anton simply handed him two Mini Globes of Browser Sharing containing The Incredibles and The Incredibles 2.

He already knew that news about him hosting a movie night with his friends and eating kraken meat had spread. He was willing to share his movies, but he was not willing to share his kraken tentacle meat.

When the captain asked about the kraken tentacle, Anton pretended not to know what he was talking about and acted as if he had no idea what the captain meant.

Thankfully, the captain did not insist on obtaining any of the meat. Anton only had a couple of tons of it and wanted to save it for himself and his family. Once he reached Izmorta through his town portal scroll, he would be able to return home and share it with them.

Besides, the ship had several powerful wizards who could have taken the kraken tentacles if they wanted to when the two giant krakens attacked. If they had truly desired it, they could have killed the two krakens, allowing everyone on the ship to taste the legendary meat.

Another week passed, and Anton finally reached the maximum level of his ladder Necromancer character. He then transferred another piece of the Tal Rasha’s Wrappings set equipment from the game into the real world.

This time, he transferred Tal Rasha’s Lidless Eye.

It was also time for him to meet with his father and sister. When he joined them in the game created by Anders, he was extremely surprised to learn that Anna had discovered a loophole in the Diablo System and had shared it with their father.

Anna and Anders had reached the maximum level of their ladder characters a week earlier. They had experienced the transfer of twenty percent of their characters’ primary stats into their real bodies and had transferred what they considered the most powerful item they had obtained while playing the game.

They had felt the increase in strength that Anton’s Diablo System provided them with, and both of them were extremely delighted.

Anna had felt disappointed when her online friends invited her to play other games. Since she only had access to the Diablo II ladder season and could only use one character, she could no longer join them. She had to make excuses whenever they invited her to play something else.

With nothing else to do inside the game besides continuing to level their characters through the out-of-season multiplayer option, Anna decided to delete her ladder character. She expected the stats and items she had received to disappear.

To her surprise, they remained.

Even more surprisingly, Anton’s Diablo System allowed her to create a new ladder character.

Unlike Anton’s Diablo Panel, Anders and Anna only had a single character slot available in the ladder section of the Diablo System. After Anna deleted her max-level Sorceress, she successfully created a new character and chose a Paladin.

Both Anders and Anna were extremely delighted when they discovered that their ladder season had not truly ended. They did not know if Anton’s Diablo System would still allow them to transfer their primary stats and another item, but at the very least, they could continue playing the game.

In Anders’s case, he was hesitant about continuing. The main reason he played the ladder season was because of the stat increase and item reward. If no reward was given during their second playthrough, Anders told his children that he was too busy to continue playing the game purely for entertainment.

Anna, however, did not mind. She enjoyed playing with her newly found online friends even without any rewards.

The only thing they wanted Anton to do was check whether the loophole they discovered was allowed by his Diablo System.

Anton tried searching for information about the loophole using the browser section of his system. Normally, whenever he asked his system a question, it would respond by sending him a notification.

However, this time, his Diablo System remained silent.

“I guess since my system allowed you to do it, then it should be fine. As for the reward, my system did not respond, so the only way to know is for you to reach the maximum level with your new characters.”

Anna told them that she planned to continue playing. She also encouraged their father to do the same because she believed there was a good chance Anton’s system would continue rewarding them once they reached the maximum level of their newly created characters.
