Anders told his children that he had decided to level up his new Diablo II ladder character, the Barbarian he had created after deleting his Sorceress character once she reached the maximum level.
Even if nothing came from it, he admitted that playing the game would allow him to relax. Basically, their father would treat it as a form of entertainment after working hard.
“I probably won’t be too diligent about it since I’m truly busy with other things,” Anders told them.
Anton thought there was a good chance that the loophole Anna had discovered within his Diablo System would truly give them a huge advantage. During a ladder season, which usually lasted for three months, they would be able to level up multiple ladder characters, allowing them to transfer the stats and items they gained from the game into the real world.
Even if the loophole applied to him, Anton knew that a single ladder season was not long enough for him to level up more than eight characters. Normally, the fastest they could reach the maximum level with a ladder character, if they were fully dedicated, was around two weeks. However, due to Anna and Anders’s schedules, they wouldn’t be able to maintain that pace and would more likely need three to four weeks to level up a single ladder character.
That meant that during one season, both Anders and Anna could level up at most three Diablo II ladder characters.
The only reason Anton was able to level up his ladder character faster than normal was because of what he called the “on-screen” option. It allowed him to play the game as if he were sitting in front of a computer.
Because of that, leveling up his character was much more convenient for him compared to his father and sister, who had to be physically transported into the game to level up their characters.
This current ladder season was especially convenient for him because he had nothing else to do. He was stuck on a ship in the middle of the ocean, and the journey would last for more than a year.
Based on his calculations, Anton would likely experience two ladder seasons during his journey to Izmorta.
Anton wondered how his system would help him reach the Invincible Rank. After experiencing several Diablo II ladder seasons, he would accumulate countless stats, making him incredibly powerful. However, was that really all he needed to break through the barrier between the Supreme and Invincible ranks?

“According to the information I received from my spies, the wizards of Ormunda and New Drennor are still having great difficulty figuring out the system behind your scrolls. Apparently, out of the twenty portal scrolls our family sends them, they usually waste around ten for experimentation. Since you’re giving us thirty portal scrolls every month, I decided to increase the number we submit to the wizards by another five. We’ll only keep five for our own use. I traded the extra five for resources that Oakswood can use,” Anders explained.

He had allowed his father to manage the scrolls for a long time and was only responsible for providing Anders with thirty portal scrolls every month.
Raymond was the one receiving the thirty portal scrolls that Anton sent through the ship’s transport chest, so the wizards of Ormunda and New Drennor were aware of how many portal scrolls Anton could produce within thirty days.
Anton then told them that he had managed to acquire several tons of kraken tentacle meat and would send it to them once he reached Izmorta.
“I remember how delicious the kraken was!” Anna exclaimed.
Even Anders had a look of longing on his face.
“If I get the chance, I’ll try to get more. I’m sure the ship will be attacked by other sea monsters,” Anton told them.
“Is the ship doing okay?” Anders asked with concern.
Anton assured them that they didn’t need to worry about the Melinda. Its battle capabilities were far beyond the ship they had used when traveling from Rendindura to the Gale Continent.
He told them that there were several Invincible Wizards on board, and there was even a rumored Semi-Divine Wizard among them. Based on what his friends theorized, the wizards planned to establish a stronghold branch in Izmorta.
The portal scrolls made that plan much easier. Compared to establishing a permanent gate, which the wizards of Izmorta would never allow, the wizards from Ormunda and New Drennor could use the portal scrolls because the amount of mana released when they were activated was extremely small. This meant their usage would be almost impossible to detect.
Anton reminded his father and sister that everything he had told them was only a theory created by young people and was likely influenced by their overactive imaginations.
“Are you not talking to the other wizards on the ship? Based on your status, some of them should have tried to befriend you and shared the plans they had for when they reached Izmorta,” Anna said.
Anton blushed before laughing.
“I don’t really mingle with the other wizards. The captain told me that the older ones find me…too young. I usually spend my time with my friends, and all of them are young commoners. Even the nobles avoid me because I gained the reputation of being a commoner lover,” Anton told them.
Anders shook his head. He knew his son well, and this was exactly how he expected Anton to behave.
“That’s ridiculous! Without your portal scrolls, any plan they have regarding establishing a connection between the two continents wouldn’t be nearly as easy!” Anna exclaimed.
Anton simply shrugged and told his sister that he didn’t mind if the other wizards and nobles on the ship disliked him.
He explained that, for the nobles, it was slightly hypocritical because they still enjoyed the movies he shared with the ship every month. In fact, the nobles were the main customers of the cinema the ship had established.
As for the wizards, Anton told his father and sister that they were aware of his intention to join a magical organization in Izmorta. From their perspective, that meant he was distancing himself from the magic systems of Ormunda and New Drennor.
Anna immediately pointed out how ridiculous that was since Anton had never actually joined any organization in Ormunda. The honorary student position given to him by her magic academy did not count.
Anton told them that he understood the wizards’ way of thinking. He then explained what he had learned about Izmorta’s magic system, which alarmed both his father and sister.
They repeatedly asked him if he was certain that he wanted to undergo what they called a rebirth.
Anton assured them that his Diablo System would most likely remain unaffected. His system was far too powerful to be influenced by any ritual from this world.
He also admitted his theory to his father and sister: his Diablo System might be operating within a hidden part of his mind, separate from the part of his mind that allowed him to use the standard magic of this world.
He explained that, because of the Izmortans’ rebirth process, he would likely lose his progress with standard magic. However, he admitted that his progress in that area was extremely limited.
In fact, the number of spells he had memorized could be counted on his fingers.
But his Diablo System would remain untouched.
