Chapter 19: Miss Stephanie is getting emotional
"Now that can work, but there are still a lot that could go wrong. Some members of the board have not really liked me because of my strict ruling since the beginning of the company, so they would be so stern to get me out with this opportunity that they have gotten," Stephanie said calmly.
He had already dug into the history of the Hydra company and knew exactly why this would be a problem now.
In the past, when Hydra Oil was the single best company in the whole world, Stephanie was almost invincible. In her company policies, it was clearly stated that nobody had the right to question or even try and remove the pioneer of the company, as the pioneer had the final say.
People did have a problem with it, but what could they do? They immediately kept investing in the company. After all, the main thing people were after were the profits.
But then all it took was one wrong decision and she slid down to 50 from first. It was like she was heading to bankruptcy in a single year.
Stephanie was panicking. Investors were pulling back. It was all chaos, and even the ones that were left started to riot, saying she was not really a good CEO and pioneer, and that the policies were just meant to protect her and allow her to mismanage the company under the heading that she was still very young and had no experience yet.
But Stephanie was relentless. She made promises that she would change the company policies if only the investors stayed and gave her just one year.
Because no matter what, she needed them more than ever.
And that was exactly when a young man by the name of Steven saw potential in this young woman and invested a total of 8 million dollars into her company, which at the time was a large sum of money.
Being so famous for making the right call and spotting potentials very early in the stock industries, investors immediately started flocking in.
And in no time, Stephanie was no longer at the verge of bankruptcy, but she still had a lot to actually do.
The company was still down to about 50, and despite the influx of money they were still going even further down, showing the fact that she needed to act fast and outbest her competitors.
But that was when Miss Stephanie finally showed her talent and made her investors not need to invest again in their entire life.
She literally came back to the top twenty in less than a month, and within one month more she was in the top ten again.
The news had blown up the media back then as she broke several records—firstly as the youngest CEO to have ever made it back from near bankruptcy, and secondly as the fastest ever growing company in the last decade.
A record she just recently lost to an upcoming company in the field of gadgets.
That was what even skyrocketed her popularity, getting her up to 5 million followers on almost every one of her social media pages, including Instagram and TikTok.
Even fan pages created after her name were getting up to 500k followers. But the main lesson is that that very decision she made in desperate times had actually come back to bite her now.
Because as the case was now, the board had the right to fire her as the CEO and even temporarily cease her status as the pioneer if she defaulted in any aspect.
That was very bad and very illegal—except for the fact that it was actually indeed legal.
This was exactly the desperate promises she had used to draw in investors back then, not because she was in a loss, but because she strongly believed in her abilities and had to go down that route.
Sometimes in business you just had to take risks, and hers actually paid off—except for the fact that it was finally coming back to bite her now.
"Look, I know what you are scared of, but don’t worry. I have planned this out beautifully. Look, I have all the proof here. Don’t worry, I would print them out tomorrow and you can use them," Logan said, giving Miss Stephanie his phone to take a look.
Miss Stephanie looked at the phone curiously, and within moments confusion and relief spread on her face.
"Oh my God, this is so, so detailed and good. Where did you even get this from, and how fast did you even do this? It’s really quite shocking. I mean..." Logan cut her short before she could even continue.
"Well, I do have some little connections and tip-offs. After all, I was a little close to Andrew, so I had access to something that normal people would have never actually had access to," Logan said with a smile.
"So immediately I discovered, I immediately began compiling my research because I had actually expected it long ago but didn’t want to tell so it wouldn’t look like I was causing a commotion between you and your son. But now things got this serious and they succeeded, I cannot let anything happen to you," Logan said with a sigh.
"I’m so sorry for not telling you earlier," Logan sighed yet again, hoping he was playing his part well.
There was no way on earth that he was even going to start telling Stephanie that an AI on his phone compiled everything there in just 4 minutes. It was obviously too detailed for it to be done in just four minutes.
"Thank you so much, Logan. I’m really, really grateful. Like, I just can’t thank you enough. I had already begun to fear that every single thing was going down—everything I had worked so hard to build in 20 good years of business," Stephanie said as she immediately began to lose her composure, tears slipping down her eyes.
"No, please don’t do that. I really couldn’t watch you go down like that. It would have been truly heartbreaking," Logan said as he stood up from the bed to embrace Miss Stephanie.
Miss Stephanie immediately gave in, crying even harder. It was like finally she had seen someone she could finally pour all her worries to.
It made her cry even more.
