Logan was still walking around after making the call. He needed something he could use as proof.

He needed to think. Maybe if he asked the AI to investigate for some proof, that would be better.

But even that failed to actually get him anything reasonable.

Logan kept pacing around as he thought things out over and over again when all of a sudden a brilliant idea crossed his mind.

What if he just looked for an AI that could actually just get him the proof straight up?

Logan immediately began typing fast on the keyboard, and just as he expected, there was really an AI.

Logan sat down and downloaded all the documents he asked for, together with the CCTV footage and a recording of Paul and Andrew admitting to actually setting her up—which on actual normal standards was not even meant to exist.

But it didn’t really matter.

He needed the backlash on those two to hit harder.

Obviously, as company issues worked, the CEO has a lot of power, but the board of directors can still remove you from that position if you do not take care.

So there was no trying to be calm here. Every single piece of proof on the case had to be put forward.

Just as Logan was thinking things through and organizing all the details, he heard a faint knock on his door.

He immediately knew exactly who it was. Instinctively, he adjusted his clothes a little and tried to clear the place a little before going to open the door.

"Hello, good evening. Good to see you again," Miss Stephanie said politely as Logan opened the door.

"Yeah, come in and make yourself comfortable," Logan said as he walked back inside to clear the chair and reading table he had for her to sit.

Miss Stephanie walked in calmly, looking around the apartment slightly but not in a way that could actually make one’s skin crawl.

"Umm, yeah, I really appreciate all your help, but this is a very sensitive matter and I truly don’t want to drag you into it.

Trust me, it’s not about the video going viral. It’s actually about an accusation of me stealing the company’s funds and some other things. But don’t get me wrong, I appreciate your—"

"I have all the proof we need. All I want you to do is listen to me closely. You cannot mess this up, else you lose your company," Logan said, adjusting on the bed where he was seated.

Catching Miss Stephanie totally off guard, but she managed to compose herself.

"Well, I’m all ears," she managed to say.

"Alright. For starters, after all this is over, I would like you to fire your assistant."

************

"Yes, I am very sure of what I’m saying. It’s in the recording," Paul said calmly on the call.

"Hmm, this is a real breach of company protocol," Steven said from the other line.

He was a very influential and charismatic figure in the board of directors. Paul knew that if he could convince him that Miss Stephanie was no good, then he would as much as have the job done.

So if Miss Stephanie eventually gets fired tomorrow, the company would be either forced to give him ownership of the company or at least give him the 200 million which she had signed on that paper.

Obviously, Paul hadn’t revealed to Steven the fact that he was the one that had allegedly bought the company. According to him, there was no need for that, as that would genuinely just cause a lot of things.

"So what is in it for you?" Steve spoke from the other line, pulling another drag from the cigarette in his mouth.

That question took Paul by surprise.

What was in it for him? He knew Steve was a smart and cunning businessman, and he couldn’t really afford to tell him something that didn’t even add up.

"You see, I didn’t want to say this, but I am her very close friend and I have seen her doing this for a long time and I do not like it," Paul said, thinking about the excuse on the spot.

"So tell me, why do you actually care this much? I need you to tell me. I need to know—are you to gain anything by defaming and ripping your friend off the company?" Steve spoke, his voice getting even bolder and bolder as he tried to get out information.

"You see, I am actually a renowned person and I would not stoop so low to doing anything for anything, with all due respect.

I have told her a lot of times to stop and she outrightly refused to listen to me, so I had no choice but to do what I am doing now. We can never support corruption in any way. Some people would keep complaining about the government, but the government starts from us," Paul spoke with more bravery this time, and by the time he had finished his speech he was almost one hundred percent sure that he had won over the man.

But all he got from the other side was silence.

"You see, I can always investigate who you are at any time, and if I find out you are trying to sabotage my company, I promise you prison would not be the end of you.

As for the information, I am very grateful for it. We would confirm with top investigators and the rest of the directing committee.

Tomorrow a decision shall be made regarding that, and also we shall also see if it would be totally necessary to relieve Miss Stephanie of her duties as the CEO.

Once again, I wish you a very good night, sir," Steven said, cutting the call immediately.

He walked up to the window of his mansion and looked straight into the sky.

Deep down he knew that Miss Stephanie was a good CEO—or at least that was what he believed—but with everything happening he was beginning to doubt his judgement.

Because of course he could not be blinded.

He had spent 15 years of his life in this company and tens of millions in investments. There was no way he was going to let this slide if indeed she was guilty.

And with the way things are going, it only seemed like she was going to be relieved of her duties as the CEO tomorrow.

After all, he was the only relatively calm one. The rest of the board were furious. He had been answering a flurry of calls for the last hour or two.

Steven finished the cigarette in his hands and threw it out of the window.

Whatever happens, he just hopes they were not about to make a bad decision.
