Chapter 44: Evelyn might lose her TikTok account again
It didn’t really actually take her much time to finally be face to face with Logan.
And as smart as she was, she did the real thing anyone in his or her right senses would have actually done. She definitely dropped the camera far away from her, zoomed into their table, so in actual sense they would just not know what exactly hit them.
You see, that was what made this more remarkable.
Miss Stephanie was the first to see her, nudging Logan’s hands slightly to look in her direction.
And from the very look of things, it was almost one hundred and one percent certain that Miss Stephanie wasn’t having it. Her face already looked morbid.
She couldn’t even wait to give her a piece of her mind.
But she managed to keep her calm.
Evelyn just stood beside their table for a while.
The only thing Logan did was to actually raise his head slightly to look at Evelyn and then immediately continued talking happily with Miss Stephanie like nothing ever did happen.
And Stephanie immediately followed suit, her heart fluttering at his actions.
After all, he was her man alone, and she wasn’t ready to begin fighting over him with an overpriced college student.
When Evelyn saw that they were not making any moves to address her or even acknowledge her presence, she immediately got angry.
How dare they behave like they could not see her? That was definitely not how she was treated. She was the heir to the Rose Foundation, for crying out loud. She usually commanded respect everywhere she went.
But knowing what was at stake, she couldn’t help but do anything stupid—at least not at the time being.
She just decided to go through with the plan as she had already arranged, because at the moment it already strongly looked like they were not going to give her any attention.
So without wasting any time, Evelyn finally began her act.
"Logan and Stephanie, I want to tell you guys something. I hope you can hear me out," Evelyn said as she moved closer to their table, already having grabbed their attention.
Now only two things could actually happen. Firstly, either they would not take her apology lightly and kick her out, getting massive hate from the internet. After all, she already had about 10 million viewers on her stream.
And given that her dad was already working hard to actually sabotage her business, the hate would actually increase by the internet, and it would be very, very obvious that there was no way on earth she would be able to get back her status as the hyped CEO she was in the past.
But given that the second case scenario actually happens, she would immediately thank them and move to sit with them for the rest of the night. And obviously when her business crashes by tomorrow morning, it would never be tracked down to her because they had made up before anything even happened.
In actual sense, it was a win-win for both parties involved.
Thinking about it immediately made Evelyn’s blood run faster and faster. The thrill of being a genius was immense.
Without wasting any time, she finally continued her speech.
"Well, Logan and Stephanie—I mean, Miss Stephanie—these past few days have been genuinely bad, and I know why. I am the one at fault. I have been causing a lot of problems for a very long time now, and I wanted to formally..." Evelyn said, her face bowed.
But it was already very much obvious to both Logan and Stephanie. There was obviously a catch. Although Miss Stephanie might not know Evelyn well enough, Logan knew her too well.
She was obviously not one to back down that easily.
Evelyn could easily see the doubt in their faces, but she didn’t care.
She had finally brought them into a position where no matter what they did, it would end up as a bad move.
So she didn’t relent, continuing with her antics, begging and begging even more.
Logan, disgusted, finally raised his head with a smile.
"You see, Evelyn, we really don’t have anything against you, so there is really no need to cause a scene here," Logan immediately said without even breaking a sweat.
"..."
Evelyn was speechless. There was almost nothing she could say to show her genuine shock.
But she immediately composed herself in less than 10 seconds, faking genuine happiness.
"Well, that’s really good news. I mean, since we are now friends, let’s have a dinner together. You know, bring back the old times.
I missed this friendship so much. It’s really, really nice to finally have you back after all this while. There is really nothing I could hope for. Don’t worry, bills on me," Evelyn said, immediately trying to go grab a chair and move to their table.
Stephanie, looking at everything unfolding, had already lost her composure.
"Evelyn, no. You cannot stay here, please," she said, unable to hold her restraint.
Immediately Evelyn stopped in her tracks.
"But why? I mean, I thought you said there is no need to apologize and that we are good," she said, already pretending to be sad.
But deep down she was very, very satisfied that she had finally got into Miss Stephanie’s head.
But deep down it actually still hurt her so much that Logan had actually left her for someone better.
"Well, what she actually really meant was that we are not really comfortable being on camera," Logan said, looking at Evelyn dead in the eye.
"Emm, how do you know I’m recording?" Evelyn said in shock.
"Well, firstly because the camera was not really hidden, and secondly, did you also record the part in which you harassed and slapped me in this restaurant earlier?" Logan probed.
One thing he hated the most was being disturbed for some stupid drama.
At first Evelyn decided to play dumb like she was not actually aware of what was actually going on, trying to play the guilty card.
"Logan, this is really hurtful and uncalled for. Why are you blaming me for what I didn’t do? I mean, I get it—you don’t like me to stay with you guys for dinner and you also don’t like the idea of me recording you on camera—but blaming and trying to frame me up for what I didn’t do is off the chart and disgusting."
Evelyn said, trying to walk out on Logan, but at this point Logan had already seen through her acts and he wasn’t buying it.
"I’m so sorry you feel that way. I sincerely apologize for making you feel like I framed you, but the video of you slapping me isn’t going to be hard to get, do you think?
I mean, a restaurant like this should have a lot of CCTV cameras," Logan said casually, putting Evelyn right where he wants her.
Evelyn, fearing that her account might be at risk again, did the most unimaginable thing ever—and maybe just maybe she might have saved herself yet again.
