Chapter 112: The Wives’ Sorrow
"LISTEN, EVERYONE! KILL THESE DEMON BASTARDS AND SEIZE THE DEMON LORD RAZE’S HEART!"
His voice echoed throughout the battlefield.
"THE TRUE WAR HAS BEGUN!"

While Nova was about to witness and experience his first large-scale war, Asia, Rieka, and Bai Chen were teleported to the capital of the Aureth Kingdom, Vaunis. Bai Chen was still sitting in his original position on the driver’s seat of the carriage.
He wasn’t sure whether Nova’s plan would work or not. When Nova had explained everything directly into his mind after they were thrown hundreds of kilometers away by the Emperor’s pressure, Bai Chen had been shocked. Then he realized the truth.
Nova had sacrificed himself. He was against the plan. But....he had to agree..even if he was against it....his mother had raised him well.
She taught him since childhood....when you call someone your brother, you stand by him no matter what.
And Nova was his junior brother—the one who had helped him so much when he had no money. Alas, the heavens truly seemed to hate good people. Bai Chen’s heart trembled with grief and guilt for Nova.
But he also understood that Nova had no other choice. It was the last gamble he could make to save his wives. Whatever Nova had done, it had worked. They had safely arrived in the capital, right in front of his house, along with the carriage.
Rieka and Asia slowly felt the strength returning to their bodies. The crushing pressure vanished, and the sounds of war—the roars, howls, and battle cries coming from outside the carriage—had completely disappeared.
The last thing they had heard from their husband was that he was about to make a gamble, and he had strictly ordered them not to come out of the carriage. But seeing everything return to normal, they thought whatever Nova had planned had succeeded.
The two of them looked at each other before hurriedly stepping out of the carriage to see their husband.
When they stepped out of the carriage, they froze in place.
To their utter surprise, the scenery had completely changed. The vast, barren wasteland that resembled a land of death was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, they found themselves in a quiet area surrounded by small buildings, and right in front of them stood a modest little house.
But...Nova was nowhere to be found.
Their hearts suddenly clenched. A suffocating sense of dread filled their minds as though something was stuck in their throats. They frantically looked around for their husband.
Asia immediately spread out her heightened Grandmaster senses, searching every corner of the surroundings, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t find him.
Only then did they notice Bai Chen.
He had already stepped down from the carriage and was standing there with his head lowered. He couldn’t bring himself to meet his sisters-in-law’s eyes, yet he knew he had to tell them what had happened.
Rieka hurried over to him.
"Big Brother Bai Chen... where is my darling? Didn’t he come with us?" she asked, her voice trembling as she realized they had been teleported. Nova had already told her about the Spatial Teleportation Crystal.
Asia could no longer hold herself back. "Please, Big Brother Chen... say something. Where is my husband?" Bai Chen slowly raised his head, his heart feeling unbearably heavy.
"H-He..."
His voice trembled as he explained everything that had happened—from the moment they were pulled into the battlefield to the desperate situation they had found themselves in.
He told them how Nova had wanted to escape together with them, but everything had changed at the last moment. To create even the slightest chance for their survival, Nova had stayed behind, shielding them and sacrificing himself so they could escape.
As they listened to Bai Chen’s explanation, it felt as though the ground beneath their feet had collapsed. Despair completely filled their hearts.
Rieka couldn’t hold herself back anymore. Her beautiful golden wolf eyes filled with tears—a sight so rare since the day she and Nova had been together. She looked at Bai Chen and shouted, "Why did you do that?!"
Bai Chen couldn’t say anything.
He could only lower his head.
What kind of senior brother leaves his junior brother behind... even if he had no choice?
But Bai Chen believed he had no other choice. At the very least, Nova’s wives could be saved, so he followed the plan. Even so, he couldn’t bring himself to say those words to his sisters-in-law, who were suffering the most at this moment.
Rieka could no longer bring herself to shout at Bai Chen. Deep down, she understood what Nova must have told him. She knew Nova better than anyone other than Nova’s parents.
Her hands trembled uncontrollably as an overwhelming killing intent began leaking from her body.
Asia was in no better condition. Both of her hands covered her mouth. Although the veil hid most of her expression, it couldn’t hide the tears continuously flowing from her eyes.
Soft sobs escaped her lips as she felt her heart being torn apart again and again every time she remembered her husband’s face.
Rieka couldn’t take it anymore. She clenched her fists beneath the veil and gritted her teeth. Without another word, she turned and started walking toward the road.
She didn’t even know where she was, but she had to find a way back to her husband. She believed in him.
Even when they had met in that dungeon and were both in terrible condition, Nova had still managed to come back alive.
But deep down, she also understood...This time was different.
The danger he was facing wasn’t something that could be compared to the dungeon. Even with Nova’s skills and strength, he would be powerless before enemies like those.
Still...even if there was the slightest chance, she had to go. "Sister-in-law! Where are you going?" Bai Chen shouted.
Rieka didn’t reply.
Asia, who was still sobbing, noticed Rieka leaving. She instantly disappeared from her spot and appeared in front of her, blocking her path.
"S-Sob... wait... snif... Sister Rieka... don’t go..." Asia pleaded through her tears.
She had always considered Rieka her elder sister, and Rieka had always treated Asia like her own little sister. Rieka had become much calmer over the past three years. Seeing her lose control like this only made Asia’s heart ache even more.
Rieka looked at Asia and said in a trembling voice, "Don’t stop me, Asia... I’m going to our husband."
Asia wiped the tears from her eyes and forced herself to calm down enough to speak clearly. She still believed their husband could be alive, but if they rushed back now, they wouldn’t be able to save him unless they found someone strong enough to help.
"How are you going to do that?" Asia asked, her voice trembling. "It’s so far from here... and even if you somehow get there... what will you be able to do?"
Bai Chen could only watch the scene from a distance, unable to say a single word.
"What do you want me to do then? Sit here quietly while my darling struggles for his life?" Rieka cried. "I can’t... I can’t bear to watch him throw his life again... just like last time..."
She broke down into heavy sobs as the memories of the dungeon flooded back. Back then, Nova had thrown away his own chance to survive just to save her.
And now...The same thing had happened again. If anything happened to him this time...She didn’t know if she could keep living.
Seeing Rieka break down once again, Asia’s tears began falling as well. She knew about the ordeal Nova and Rieka had gone through in the dungeon when they first met, so she could understand the pain her sister was feeling.
Thanks to the new bloodline she had awakened, Asia had become much calmer. Even in the midst of such overwhelming grief, she forced herself to think rationally. She stepped forward and gently hugged Rieka, who cried in her embrace.
Asia knew there was only one option left. They had to go to the Frosthall Hunters Guild.
As her father had told them, his friend, Guild Leader Dorain, might be able to help. She had met Uncle Dorain several times during her childhood, as he frequently visited Forstholme.
She had also accompanied her father to the Vaunis Branch on a few occasions, where she met him again.
Holding Rieka gently, Asia said, "Let’s go to the Frosthall Hunters Guild. We can get their help." Rieka calmed down a little. She pulled back and nodded.
