Chapter 1157 - 1153: True Form State
Igor swung the meteor hammer in his hand and grinned. "I’ve been waiting for you to take on this form!"
This reply took Stanley and the others by surprise. In their heads they were thinking, this furry brat really doesn’t know how high the sky is. In our true-body state we’re all immortal, what are you going to use to fight us with!
"You boastful brat, take this!" Stanley struck first. He’d always been an Animal Trainer, so naturally his offensive point was commanding beasts to attack.
This time, the one he was directing to attack was that python—the one with glowing eyes.
It was just that this python’s current state was also an Undead Soldier...
Igor could see clearly that the light in the python’s eyes was where Energy was gathering. He guessed this python’s way of attacking was also an Energy Wave.
Igor wasn’t that afraid of Energy Attacks. That was the result of his battles in the Border Realm. The reason he’d just put on an invincible act in front of Stanley and the others was because he had completely neutralized all the Energy they’d attacked with. For that, he needed to thank the Puppet Master; it was that guy’s performance in battle back in Gaga County that had made him realize this method.
He’d already had experience absorbing Energy back in the Border Realm. This time he tried it again a bit—and actually managed to master it completely.
That truly was something remarkable. Igor’s capacity for self-exploration was ridiculously strong.
Using this method to deal with Soul Devourers had always worked like a charm. The Energy Attacks of those low-level grunts were very weak; he could wipe them out without much effort.
So Igor figured this python’s attack wouldn’t be much different either—most likely an Energy Ball...
The python rolled a few times on the ground, then suddenly straightened its entire body up. Igor felt that at this moment the python was about to launch an Energy Ball, so he adopted a defensive stance.
But what happened next went completely against his expectations—the python opened its bloody maw and hissed, spewing out several blasts of poisonous gas...
Igor was dumbfounded. So the attack form had changed?
"Hahahaha, brat, you’re out of options now, aren’t you? You really thought that after we switched back to our true bodies to fight you, we’d still use that collected Energy? Too naive. A true body is a true body. However we attacked in the past is how we attack now!"
Landing a successful hit, Stanley was naturally smug as hell. He now felt this youth would go down before long.
The effect of the poisonous gas was very obvious. Igor felt dizzy and light-headed, but he had no time to adjust, because the python lunged at him again!
Igor raised his sword to block. This was a very bad state for him to be in, and of course he had only himself to blame for being too careless, for not thinking everything through to the end.
Learn from a setback and get smarter—Igor wouldn’t make the same mistake twice. He immediately formed a Spirit Power Defense Circle around himself, then released the Energy in his body to neutralize the toxins.
To Adventurers with Class, poison was just a form of interference and couldn’t really form a lethal threat. So ever since Adventurers with Class had appeared in this world, toxin-type attacks had all become auxiliary methods...
Once Igor’s Spirit Defense formed, Stanley’s beast attack couldn’t break through.
Stanley chuckled darkly, the rotten flesh on his face looking like it was about to fall off, making him extremely unpleasant to look at.
"Your wall of defense is pretty thick, I’ll give you that—but can it withstand all of our attacks at once?"
Heh heh heh, hahaha—mocking laughter spread around. Clearly, everyone from the Star Circus now thought Igor was a bird in a cage, just waiting around to die.
"Our true-body form is our original appearance. We used to be illustrious Adventurers with Class. We were thieves, we were Alchemists, we were Wizards, we were Fighters—and all of us were High Rank!" Stanley went on.
Igor listened quietly. He knew he was at a disadvantage at the moment. Of course, he also knew he was absolutely capable of taking on this many people. But right now he wanted to solve this problem with the least amount of effort, which meant he needed to gather more intel.
All these enemies shared one trait: they were full of themselves. Maybe it was because they believed they couldn’t die that they were so arrogant.
These people loved to croak on and on about their past glory, about how powerful they had been, completely unaware that in the middle of all that bragging they were exposing all of their weaknesses.
Igor chose not to take the initiative right now because he wanted to test out where these guys’ true weak points lay. Their greatest enemy right now wasn’t this Circus, but that big brute Quinn.
Igor knew Kadi should be able to pin Quinn down, but Quinn was, after all, the enforcer of the entire Circus organization. His power had to far exceed that of the Circus itself.
The reason he hadn’t chosen to chase after Quinn himself and instead left that to Kadi was because he believed Kadi could hold Quinn back, whereas if Igor went after Quinn, Kadi might get bogged down by this bunch of Circus people.
Once Kadi started fighting, he never overthought things, he just charged forward without hesitation, using maximum force to solve problems, with no concept of saving his strength.
If Kadi had stayed here, the place would already be a battlefield in utter chaos with heaven and earth turned upside down.
Whereas with Igor here instead, the environment was relatively quieter. Most of these Circus guys were busy jeering, because in their eyes Igor already had nowhere to run.
Igor’s lips curled up. "Whatever tricks you’ve got, use them all."
This shout of provocation felt like an enormous insult to the Circus members. They figured if they didn’t teach this youngster a painful lesson, he’d think he could go to heaven.
"Lain Brothers, show him some color!" Stanley barked loudly.
The skeletal Lain Brothers twisted their bodies and moved up, and those few assistants with a bit of flesh still clinging to their faces followed along.
Smitt, Arras, Kurtu... Igor vaguely remembered that these guys were called that. He was watching them closely to see what exactly their roles were and how they would launch their attack.
The true-body state Flying Trapeze group began their assault. The one named Smitt drew a huge circle on the ground, then the other two, Kurtu and Arras, each stepped into the circle. They were all sketching circles and lines on the ground, seemingly working some sort of spell.
"That’s an Alchemy Array, you idiot!" Stanley once again broke into wild laughter, directly revealing the supposedly mysterious ritual to Igor!
Igor shook his head. You lot really talk too much. At this rate, it won’t be long before I figure out all the details of your true-body states!
The Flying Trapeze’s attack unfolded in an instant. The skeletal Lain Brothers suddenly grew taller than the giant Amoon and drifted up into the air, looking like they were about to launch an air raid on Igor...
