Chapter 92: Soothing The Wild Cat II
The dragon groaned on the floor, struggling through the pain while also struggling to keep sane as he stared at the female. The two of them laid there on the floor, him still holding firmly onto her, arms wrapped around her waist as their eyes locked.
Ayra met those crimson eyes that were filled with fierce urge to protect. "Are you okay..?" She didn’t know why she was asking the obvious!
"Are you okay...?" Zark asked instead, his hands slowly running through her hair as though she was the one who had gotten the cat’s claws scratched hard against her body.
Ayra didn’t hesitate. She ran her hand through Zark’s forehead, soothing and healing him from the intensity of the backlash he was getting.
He needed it temporarily at least to keep sane for the meantime.
[Ding]
[Dragon’s injuries healing...]
[Berserk level dropping from 80% to 75%]
While Ayra healed and soothed him temporarily, Lord Ash and Commander Lynn arrived at the scene.
"Are you two okay?" Lord Ash asked worried as Ayra tried her best to heal the dragon. They simply stood there staring to know how things were going while the rest fought to hold down the wild cat.
[Ding!]
[Host - duration remaining 5 minutes only!]
[Wild cat berserk level increased back to 99%]
[Host should hurry up and soothe wild cat before he loses it!]
Ayra gasped as she stared at the wild cat. Watching as the snake tried holding it even as the cat violently beat it up. And the beastmen all got beaten up by the cat while trying their ropes around it.
"You’ve got to be kidding me..." She stared at the system. "That damn thing almost had me killed..."
[Host - There was a glitch in soothing. The Wild cat recognized the Villainess and all her acts]
[Host should try a more direct and immediate soothing method to avoid such interruption and aid a faster result now!]
[Host should touch the wild cat to initiate the immediate soothing]
[Immediate soothing mode activated]
Ayra gasped as she stared at the system. "You..." She shook her head as she stared at the wild cat. "I can’t believe I’m risking my damn life for some skincare makeup kit I can afford in the real world."
She sighed. She guessed she was doing this to save the wild cat now. She could sense the fear in his eyes. The wild cat had been through a lot, and she guessed she couldn’t give up on saving him.
"Ash..." Ayra called as soon as she was done healing Zark to a subsequent level.
Commander Lynn and Lord Ash stared at her, eager to hear what she had to say.
"Toss me towards the cat. Toss me high enough to land on the cat’s back."
"...?!"
"Huh?!" Ash was speechless. "Why would you want to do that? Do you want to die?"
Ayra stared at him. "Trust me. I have to try a more immediate and direct method, so trust me and just do it."
"But.." Lord Ash was worried.
"Trust me.." Ayra held onto his arms with a nod. "Don’t you want to save Nyx and everyone else...?"
A quick silence as Lord Ash nodded. Commander Lynn nodded as he got up to his feet and positioned his hands.
Ayra didn’t hesitate. She approached Commander Lynn who was brave enough to trust her. And then walked into his grip. "Ask everyone to back out."
Commander Lynn held Ayra and tossed her into the sky.
"Back out!" Lord Ash ordered aloud. He had no choice but to be brave and trust her while working along with the instructions.
Lord Vale pulled back in his snake form, rolling in the bruises while the other beastmen let go of their ropes and stepped aside as well, watching as Ayra flew across the air and towards the cat.
Eyes in the air, watching as Ayra immediately landed at the back of the cat.
"Oh God..." Ayra prayed in her mind as she landed on its furry back, both hands immediately pressing against its neck, leaning closer while holding the cat firmly.
Ayra closed her eyes, concentrating her energy into soothing the cat.
[Ding]
[Physical touch soothing activated - In motion]
With her hands pressing against the cat’s skin, it paused. The cat that wanted to protest against the person on its back without permission had suddenly stopped. Standing there and staring into the distance like someone who was under some spell.
Following the system’s instructions, Ayra gently rubbed her hands against its skin, letting her soothing energy spread throughout its body.
Slowly, the cat closed its eyes, feeling the soothing energy run through its veins.
"It’s okay..." Ayra spoke gently to the cat through its ears, spilling gentle words to make it feel at ease. "You’re safe now.. you’re safe..."
"No one is coming to hurt you...." She said in the most calming tone ever. "I’m here... Calm down..."
She kept repeating such calming words while running her hands through its skin. Spreading the calmness all through his body as the cat slowly calmed each nerve.
The wild cat let out a low growl which slowly grew into a comfortable purr.
"..."
"..."
The beastmen around stared in shock. Did they hear it right? Did the cat just purr in a comfortable manner?
This meant that the wild cat was comfortable with Ayra. And that strangely Ayra had actually done some work to get this wild cat under control.
This had all the warriors around shocked.
"The female has done it again...." One of the warriors said as they shook their heads.
"An F-rank female, right...?"
Another nodded. "Yes..."
"She is a goddess..." Another added as they watched Ayra sit on the cat, uttering soothing words as the cat slowly closed its eyes, calming down while standing there.
[Ding]
[Congratulations Host, Wild Cat’s berserk level dropped from 99% to 78%]
[Wild Cat is now at temporarily safe zone to be controlled before further detailed soothing is needed]
At that moment, Ayra sighed as she closed her eyes. She inhaled and exhaled as she muttered, "Finally..."
