Chapter 111: Cub Chase.
The beastmen had caught up with Rai while running after the little cub. They were still as shocked as he was on seeing the cub running on both feet.
But as they pulled closer, Rai immediately urged them to move slower. "The cub might fall if we chase her faster..." He said, explaining how the butterfly was moving based on their pursuit.
They slowed down, following Rai closely as they moved after the cub that was still on the run after the butterfly.
Soon, the cub had gotten closer to the water side again. This time, the butterfly had flown higher while Ally stood there close to the water staring at it.
Rai and the other beastmen came to a stop, standing there at a distance and staring at the cub that was at the edge. Ally was only a few steps away from falling into the water!
They panicked while staring at Ally who didn’t seem to understand where she was at all. She was simply staring at the butterfly that was hovering around in the air.
"What’s happening...?" Ayra had asked while Lord Zark slowly brought her down to her feet. She stared at Rai. "Why is she.. running...?"
Rai shrugged while shaking his head. "I’m as shocked as you are. I didn’t know she was able to walk at all. Last night, she was still sleeping peacefully and now she’s suddenly running."
They turned and stared at the cub. They were scared of pulling closer before she fell right into the water.
Ayra blinked as she casually asked, "And is this normal...?" She didn’t have any explanation for it.
"Somehow... It is.." Lord Ash slowly nodded as she stared at him.
"It is..?" She asked.
Lord Vale slowly nodded as well. "Beast cubs of higher ranks are rather unpredictable. Especially at stages of development, so I’ve heard.."
He added, "They could abruptly begin walking like this or even talking at some point without much training..."
Ayra blinked as she stared at the cub still standing by the water and staring up at the butterfly. "Beast cubs with higher ranks....?" She repeated in a blink.
There was silence with the realization of what the implications of what was happening right before their eyes.
"She’s a high rank beast cub..." Rai said. "But how high are we talking about...?"
"His father is an S-rank.. so is it possible that...?" One beastman paused as they turned and stared at the cub again, speechless.
Ally let out a bright smile as the butterfly flew down level and proceeded into running off in another direction. Ally instantly ran after it to her right.
"Ha ha ha ha!" The cub laughed out loud while running off.
"..."
They all stood there for seconds, staring in shock as the cub ran off. It took a while to justify if they were just seeing things or did the cub really run off again.
"After her..." Rai reminded them as they all set off again, cautiously running after the cub while making sure she didn’t fall.
"How is she so fast?" Rai asked. "Do you think she’s an A-rank?"
"Or maybe an S-rank?" another beastman inquired.
"I won’t be surprised if that’s the case..." Another said while they kept moving.
Soon, more beastmen had joined them after seeing the shocking sight of a running cub. They joined their team in disbelief, meticulously running after the cub while staring in disbelief.
"What’s happening...?" One asked their neighbor in disbelief.
The other casually shrugged and said, "We met it this way..." And so they continued running.
The cub had set off into the wild bushes now. Chasing after the butterfly with all the strength she could as if there was no other way.
The cub wasn’t even aware that she had stepped into the wild woods and deeper forest while running. The beastmen running after her had gotten worried about where they were headed to.
"Isn’t this...?" At first, they were too concentrated on where the little one was going and following closely to make sure she was safe, that they didn’t grab the details of where they were.
But soon, they had actually stared at where they were. "... Isn’t this a contaminated zone?!"
At first, they kept walking after the cub while slowly looking around to slowly realize that it was actually true.
They had stepped into a contaminated zone while running after the cub!
Slowly, the beastmen slowed down while staring around to get a better look at where they were.
"This is bad..." Ayra said as she turned and stared at the cub ahead. Everyone came to an abrupt stop from the realization while staring at the running cub ahead.
But the cub had also come to a stop after bumping into something.
Ally had fallen on her butt with a soft thud after bumping into something. And she sat down there, slowly staring up to look at what she had bumped into.
Her big eyes glued to the figure she didn’t know what was at all.
And on the other end, Ayra and the others had also paused, standing at a distance while staring at the beast before the cub.
Their faces had gone pale in shock as they stared at the huge figure before them. A sharp gasp had escaped Ayra’s mouth as she said, "This is bad..."
Before Ally was a huge beast monster. A huge snake curled up on the floor there and elegantly relaxing at the corner there.
As Ally bumped into the wild monster and fell on her ass, the giant snake slowly raised its head from where it rested and slowly stared down at the cub before it.
It paused, staring down without doing anything.
Ayra and the others paused at where they were, worried about the cub while staring at the monster before it.
Ayra panicked the most as she grabbed onto Lord Ash’s hands. "What the hell is that...?" She asked. "What do we do...? How do we save Ally from that thing?"
She asked, urgent.
