Chapter 110: Little Ally
Little Ally was laying close to the little pond of water, comfortably covered by the bushes. She lay there sleeping peacefully by the fresh water and under the shade of little bushes.
The little one seemed happy and comfortable in her rest. Her little fox ears twitching along with her tail as she lay peacefully. Even though the whole tribe was losing it and looking for her, she was happy in her little safe zone.
And as Rai leaned closer to get some water, she slowly opened her eyes. Her big sparkling eyes that met with Rai. She said nothing but lay there and stared at him for a while.
Rai panicked in shock as he stared at her. "You.. little cub.. what are you doing here...?"
"..." Little Ally stared at him. She slowly tilted her head to the side while blinking at him.
Immediately, Rai dropped the container in the water and slowly pulled back. He was shocked and excited to have found the cub. And now he didn’t know what to do.
Get the cub or run and tell the others? His brain was in a mess! He didn’t know which to do first. But he instantly decided to catch the little cub and take her to the others as a pleasant surprise!
He couldn’t wait to see the smile on Ayra’s face.
Rai stared at her, slowly stretching out his hands and approaching slowly to catch her. "Okay Ally.. don’t be scared.. okay? It’s Uncle Rai.. and I’m here to take you back safely.. okay? So don’t worry at all..."
He said, slowly reaching out to the cub.
Ally laid there quietly, staring up at the person before her coming. But interestingly enough, the little cub wasn’t really staring at Rai who was coming at all!
Rather, Ally had seen a butterfly flying ahead. A pretty butterfly that was flying around the air close to Rai. And her attention was caught.
And while Rai leaned closer to grab her gently, she was fixated on this butterfly.
And immediately as Rai finally leaned in to capture the little one, Ally immediately got up to her feet and ran off.
The cub was running. On her two little feet. Running like a little baby who had just learned how to run.. moving with almost unsteady steps and a big fat smile on her face.
"..."
Rai was shocked. As a matter of fact, he was beyond shocked as he slowly turned to stare at the little one running happily with both legs, her small fluffy tail wagging and ears twitching happily as she ran after the butterfly.
"What the..." Rai blinked as he rubbed his hand against his eyes. He paused and stared again, rubbed it again and stared.
The little cub was still running on both legs. She was able to walk on both legs! And this left Rai beyond shocked.
"How’s this... how’s that possible?!" He questioned, recalling how this little one couldn’t walk like a while back!
How did she start running, and not even standing or walking?!
Immediately, he slowly began following her behind. Walking and running at the same time to catch up with the cub.
"Hey.. Ally! Come back.. hey.. don’t run too far!" He tried urging her to slow down while running after her. But then he realized that the more he ran faster, the more the butterfly ran faster to escape. And then in turn, the cub would increase her pace.
And Ally ran with her little legs like one who would fall down anytime soon. And that was the last thing Rai wanted to see—the cub falling down!
So he moderated his pace while running after the cub. "Hey! Stop....! How are you even... How can your two legs carry you that much?!" He asked, shocked while moving after her.
He had gotten to a spot where he turned towards where Ayra and the rest were sitting around and comforting her.
The beastmen were too busy comforting the worried mother that they didn’t notice the little cub run past.
But Rai called their attention. "Hey! Over here! The cub is running off!"
Immediately, everyone slowly turned to that direction. They were rather confused about what they heard.
The cub was running off?! How was that possible when the cub couldn’t even stand?!
But as they turned and saw little Ally actually running with her two tiny legs, running after a butterfly, they all paused in instant shock.
At first, they blinked while gently rubbing their hands against their eyes and staring again to make sure they weren’t seeing things.
But indeed, they weren’t seeing things and the little cub was indeed running with her two tiny legs!
Ayra gasped in disbelief. "What the..."
One of the beastmen shook his head. "How’s this even possible..?"
"Look at her run with those legs.."
"Quickly, after her..." Lord Ash immediately instructed as the beastmen all turned and headed off to go after the cub, with the hope of catching her immediately even though they were still shocked at the fact that she was running!
Ayra also got up to run but Lord Vale and Zark who were behind her immediately held her firmly.
She stared at them, confused. "What? I have to go after her?"
"You shouldn’t run, it’s not good for your body at all," Lord Vale said as he stared down at her stomach.
Ayra stared at her stomach. She was too worried about her cub that she had almost forgotten about that.
"Instead, let me carry you," Lord Zark offered.
And before Ayra could turn down his offer, he had already swept her off her feet and held her firmly in his arms.
Ayra gasped, wrapping both arms around his broad neck while staring into his eyes. Their faces were close as she felt the dragon’s hot breath against her face. At the moment, her heart skipped a beat.
"I’ll carry you so you don’t stress yourself," he insisted in his cold dominant, almost emotionless tone while holding her firmly.
Lord Vale on the other hand stood staring at them, shocked. He folded his arms with a scoff. "What a showoff." He was jealous he didn’t act fast.
