Chapter 108: Gentle Female
Ayra was panicking as she approached, all eyes fell on her as she arrived.
"It’s the female..."
"She must be so worried..."
"Poor female..."
Ayra struggled to keep her calm as she approached Lord Ash. "Ally.." she looked around. "Where is Ally..?"
Lord Ash sighed as he said, placing a hand over her shoulder to calm her down. "Don’t worry, we’ve already set off to look for her.. she’ll be found soon," he assured.
But Ayra didn’t think she could be calm and rest when her cub was missing.
"What happened? How did it all happen?" Lord Zark inquired.
Rai felt guilty as he stepped out and explained everything that happened.
And after he was done, he said, "I’m sorry.... I didn’t know it would be like this. I didn’t know she’d be gone... Because.. she can’t walk so how did she even do it..?"
At this moment, the people around panicked a bit. They wondered what the female’s reaction would be. They wondered if she’d snap and cast all the blame on Rai and yell at him in fury.
Even Rai was scared to get snapped at by the female he had adored.
But Ayra smiled gently as she patted Rai by the wolf ears. She could see how bad and guilty he felt and calmed him down. "Don’t worry too much about it, okay? Let’s just focus on finding her.. everything will be fine."
Rai stared up at her. Shocked. All beastmen gathered around were also shocked on how warm and kind the female was with Rai.
She didn’t snap or yell at him at all.
"Are you sure...?" Rai asked.
Ayra smiled. "You didn’t throw her away, did you? So don’t blame yourself constantly.. now we should be wondering how she ran off when she can’t walk yet and not bothered with who slept."
"..."
The people stared at themselves, impressed.
"The female is so kind..." The beastmen around commented, moved.
"Yes. She’s so gentle and warm.. I thought she would snap and yell at him for it... But the female was so gentle and warm with her words..."
A teen shook his head as he smiled. "The female is so nice. She’s the best..." His peers around nodded in agreement.
One of them pointed out, "And did you also notice how the female’s eyes have gotten so much prettier? Look at how they’re sparkling."
"Yes I saw it too. Her sparkling brown eyes are blending so well with her glowing skin. How could anyone have called her an ugly F-rank female? She is so beautiful in my eyes..."
"I know right? The female is not only kind and gentle but also prettier day by day... Our tribe sure is blessed."
The youths shook their heads as they stood there admiring the female.
Rai also smiled broadly while staring into the female’s gentle sparkling eyes. "Thank you for not blaming me!" He expressed as he rushed towards her and immediately wrapped his arms around her in a hug.
Rai was emotional at the moment while hugging the female tightly. Ayra was surprised at how the hug came, her eyes were wide in shock but she didn’t push him back.
Rai had begun sobbing at the moment while hugging her firmly. "Thank you for not blaming me..." He sobbed gently while everyone watched.
Ayra smiled. "What’s wrong...? Why are you sobbing...?"
"You didn’t blame me. Everyone always blames me... While growing up, I was blamed for a lot and punished hard for the tiniest mistakes I’ve made. No one would want to believe me and always blamed me for everything then.. so I always get scared when I make a mistake..."
He sobbed as he continued. "So I was also scared that you’d get mad at me like Mama and Papa did when they abandoned me and brother. I thought you’d get mad at my mistake and also treat me badly like that.. but you didn’t."
"You didn’t get mad and understood me. Thanks for not getting mad and abandoning me like the others..."
Silence filled the atmosphere as everyone stared at the emotionally weighed scene. Ayra couldn’t help but listen as her heart broke and melted.
At that moment, she gently patted him by the hair and ears while stroking him. "It’s okay.. I won’t abandon you.. and I won’t snap at you or punish you either... You’re safe with me.. you’re always safe with me..."
She gently stroked him while thinking about his situation. Ayra couldn’t help but realize that Rai might have just said a bit but had actually exposed a lot from his trauma. And she understood that at least from her little studies.
She could interpret his trauma. The trauma of this youth who had always walked on eggshells because of his past.
Growing up, Rai had always been the one who always got blamed and yelled at. The kid who didn’t get that much love from people around him—parents. Only his brother had cared.
He was always punished and blamed for the little things he did. Cursed at by all and ridiculed in all ways even by his parents. Only his brother had been with him.
Even though Rai was a bubbly and bright one, Ayra couldn’t help but notice that he was the one who walked on eggshells.
One who was always careful not to make mistakes because he was scared of getting judged and abandoned. She didn’t know what exactly happened, but it was obvious that everyone around him had abandoned him and his brother. And he blamed it on himself, believing that they abandoned them because of his mistakes.
And now when he made a mistake around Ayra, he was scared she would also snap at him, punish him and abandon him. From day one, he had gotten so comfortable around Ayra that he didn’t want that to happen.
And Ayra understood his feelings. His fragile feelings that had come bare and vulnerable at this moment. And so she held him warmly in a hug, gently stroking his hair while comforting him.
