Chapter 692: The Inevitable Will Come
The instant noodles were cooked and placed in front of Iris Yates.
It was a simple bowl, with a fried egg, ham, and greens.
The chef’s control over the heat was just right; the dish was perfect in color, aroma, and taste.
Iris Yates stared blankly as the sight before her started to blur. She sniffled. She didn’t break down and wail; instead, she picked up her chopsticks and began to eat in small bites.
Only, tears would fall into the bowl from time to time.
William Quinn watched the scene, feeling as if an invisible hand had clenched around his heart. The sudden pain made him freeze.
She was so sad. She didn’t break down, just shed tears in silence.
A sudden rage welled up in William Quinn.
He spun around and stormed out of the dining room, moving like the wind. As he left, a dark, violent aura emanated from him.
The crew members and attendants who passed him didn’t dare to look up.
Iris Yates, however, paid no attention to any of that.
After she finished the noodles, the void in her heart seemed to have been filled, just a tiny bit.
She didn’t even leave a single drop of broth.
She grabbed a tissue to wipe her tears, then blew her nose and let out a sigh.
「Night fell.」
The moment she wanted to face least was about to arrive.
The room was large, and the round bed was spread with exceptionally fine, soft, and comfortable sheets.
After a shower, Iris Yates sat at the head of the bed, hugging her knees. Her small face was tense, radiating an extraordinary nervousness and resistance.
When the door opened, she squeezed her eyes shut. ’What’s coming will come.’
She lifted her gaze and saw William Quinn in a white shirt. The collar was slightly open, and for some reason, the hem was stained with blood.
A hint of a smile touched his handsome, refined face, his blue eyes as deep as the ocean.
"Baby, are you waiting for me?"
Iris Yates frowned slightly as she looked at him. "I thought you were having second thoughts."
"Never." William Quinn walked over and leaned in to get closer to her.
But Iris Yates pulled away. "You stink."
Hearing this, William Quinn froze. He stopped approaching, took two steps back, and stared at her with his deep blue eyes. "You know, I’m very much looking forward to tonight."
"Be good, baby. I’m going to take a shower. I’ll be out soon."
He turned and went into the bathroom.
The sound of rushing water filled the air as Iris Yates wrapped herself in the covers.
’Tonight is probably going to be difficult.’
When the bathroom door opened, the man emerged with only a bath towel wrapped around his waist. At six-foot-three, he had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and sharply defined muscles that radiated explosive power.
Water dripped from his short hair. He casually ran a towel through it, tossed it aside, and pounced onto the bed, pinning Iris Yates beneath him in a deep kiss.
"Mmph..."
His kiss had no technique or finesse; it was pure, primal instinct. He swept across her mouth, licking and exploring, not missing a single corner, lavishing attention on every soft part of her.
His very presence was a tsunami, crashing over and drowning her.
Iris Yates could never hold out against his kisses. She soon found it hard to breathe and pushed him forcefully.
"Baby, we’ve kissed so many times. Why haven’t you learned how to breathe yet?"
William Quinn was clearly pleased. He released her and watched her with an amused smile.
Panting, Iris Yates had no desire to talk. Instead, she suddenly flipped their positions, pinning him beneath her.
William Quinn went with her momentum, his blue eyes flaring with intense excitement as he looked up at the girl now straddling him. He was so thrilled that his muscles began to tense and harden.
As Iris Yates’s hands explored his body, all she could feel was taut, hard muscle.
And beneath her, the heat was staggering.
She took a deep breath and shifted backward.
