But Chloe Reed couldn’t relax.

It was only a matter of time before Grandma found out.

She didn’t even dare to imagine how sad and heartbroken Grandma would be when she learned the truth.

She closed her eyes and lay back down.

Hearing her moving, Walker Grant turned in her direction and said in a low voice, "Let’s deal with this after we get back. For now, just rest, okay?"

"Mm."

Chloe Reed replied.

She turned onto her side, her back to him, but she couldn’t quiet her mind at all.

Just then, a rustling sound came from behind her. A moment later, the man’s large, warm hand rested on her shoulder, patting her gently.

"I’ll help you get to sleep."

Chloe Reed’s long eyelashes fluttered.

Then she heard him say, "I used to hold you and tell you stories until you fell asleep. Chloe, do you want me to tell you a story now?"

Chloe Reed closed her eyes, offering no response.

Walker Grant simply continued to pat her gently, lulling her to sleep.

Perhaps his actions truly had some effect. Chloe Reed quickly calmed down and, before long, drifted off to sleep.

But Walker Grant didn’t stop. He shifted over, inch by inch, moving closer and closer to her. He only stopped moving once his chest was pressed against her back.

A peaceful night’s sleep.

The next day, as Fiona Linton was taking Chloe Reed’s pulse, her brows suddenly furrowed, and she stroked her chin.

"Tsk..."

"What is it?"

Walker Grant immediately asked, his voice tense.

After checking the pulses on both wrists, Fiona Linton finally looked at Chloe Reed and asked, "Chloe, dear, did you take some miracle pill last night? It feels like the chaotic energy in your system has calmed down significantly."

Chloe Reed blinked, looking completely baffled.

’But I didn’t.’

Fiona Linton gave her a skeptical look. "You’re sure?"

Chloe Reed shook her head.

At that moment, Walker Grant suddenly asked, "Can a healthy sex life between a married couple help regulate their bodies?"

Upon hearing that, Fiona Linton’s eyes widened in astonishment. "Ah... so that’s it! I knew you two were secretly up to something."

Walker Grant, however, replied with a very serious expression, "First, we weren’t being secretive. We’re a married couple, protected by law. Second, it’s not ’something bad,’ it’s something good that’s beneficial for both mind and body."

"Hmph!" Fiona Linton snorted. "A man who’s about to be dumped by Chloe, yet still clinging to her. If that’s not a bad thing, what is?"

Walker Grant’s expression darkened.

"However..." Fiona’s tone shifted. "Proper... vigorous exercise can indeed regulate one’s hormones. I have no objections to that."

The tension in Walker Grant’s expression eased a bit, and he said, "Check me, please."

Fiona Linton checked them both, gave each of them acupuncture, and then went to see if the herbal medicine was done brewing.

Only the two of them remained in the hospital room.

Walker Grant spoke up. "Chloe, you heard that, right?"

Chloe Reed blinked in confusion, then typed on her phone, [What?]

Walker Grant said, "A healthy sex life can regulate the body. Should we continue tonight?"

Chloe Reed: "..."

"Chloe?"

When she didn’t respond, Walker Grant started calling her name, as if he would keep repeating it until she answered.

Chloe Reed simply shut her eyes, feigning complete speechlessness.

After a few seconds of silence, Walker Grant suddenly said in a low, trailing voice, "If Grandma were to call you again..."

A cold, electronic female voice rang out: [Dream on.]

A corner of Walker Grant’s lips curled up, and he let out a low chuckle.
