Chapter 732: Looking for Trouble
It sounded like the wind was blowing on the other end of the line, carrying William Quinn’s voice and his vaguely mocking laughter.
Walker Grant curled his fingers, his knuckles tapping a steady rhythm on the desk. His expression was unreadable as he said coolly, "Quite concerned about me, aren’t you? Have you finished all your own business?"
"My business is nothing compared to your eyes. I’m actually curious—what’s a world of darkness like? Are you completely useless now, like a piece of trash that can’t do a single thing?" William Quinn was exceptionally arrogant, his words unbelievably cruel.
"Heh..." Walker Grant chuckled softly. "It seems you’ve had it easy for far too long. Since you have no intention of having a civil conversation, let’s just end it here."
He then gestured for Dylan Finch to hang up the phone.
Then, he said in a low voice, "Pass on the order. Make some trouble for William Quinn. Preferably something that’ll have him laid up in bed for a couple of weeks."
Dylan Finch’s expression immediately turned solemn. "Yes, sir. I’ll notify Ethan Finch at once."

Dylan Finch went into the study and remained there for the better part of the day.
Judith Pierce was quite worried, but she knew it wasn’t a good time to disturb him. Noticing Chloe Reed sitting not far away, she said, "You should take something to Walker. Make sure he doesn’t overwork himself."
Chloe Reed looked up at her, blinked placidly, and shook her head.
’I’m not going.’
’He’ll come out when he’s hungry and rest when he’s tired.’
"You..."
Judith Pierce hadn’t expected her to refuse so bluntly, and her brows immediately knitted together.
The old lady of the house stepped out just then, asking, "What’s all this?"
Judith Pierce looked at her, her expression smoothing out as she forced a smile. "I was just about to ask Chloe to see if Walker is done with his work. It’s easier for the young couple to talk amongst themselves. It’s best if I, his mother, don’t interfere."
The old lady chuckled. "Exactly, exactly. I feel the same way. At my age, I never interfere with the younger generation’s decisions. All that matters is that they are comfortable and happy."
Judith Pierce’s smile froze on her face; she had a feeling the old lady was taking a veiled jab at her.
She could only nod in feigned agreement before turning and walking away.
Arthur Grant wanted to bring Noah to the old family residence, so Judith Pierce brought it up with the boy. He looked up with wide eyes and asked, "Who’s Grandpa?"
For a moment, Judith Pierce was speechless.
Noah had never met Arthur Grant in his life. He knew he had a grandfather, but since he’d never seen the man, he was no different from a complete stranger.
Under the circumstances, how could he possibly accept going back to the old family residence with Arthur Grant so calmly?
And yet, they couldn’t avoid meeting.
Arthur Grant had been abroad for years. It was about time he started fulfilling his duties as a grandfather.
Judith Pierce took a moment to compose herself before saying softly, "He’s someone who will be very, very good to you. Grandma will go with you, too. We’ll go back to the old residence to stay for a few days so you can get to know your grandpa. How about making friends with him, okay?"
Noah shook his head. "But I don’t want to go. I want to stay with Little Uncle and Little Aunt."
Judith Pierce stroked his head. "But Little Uncle and Little Aunt are both sick right now. Little Uncle can’t play with you, and Little Aunt can’t tell you stories. Let’s go to the old residence for now. When they’ve recovered, you can come back, all right?"
Noah hesitated. After a moment, he asked, "Then can I spend the New Year with Little Uncle and Little Aunt?"
"Of course. We’re a family, so we’ll naturally spend it together," Judith Pierce said with a nod.
"Okay, then," Noah finally relented.
Judith Pierce let out an immediate sigh of relief and told a maid to go pack the child’s things.
