Chapter 705: Complete Envelopment
Walker Grant paid her no mind at all.
His large palm enveloped Chloe Reed’s small hand. He aggressively threaded his long fingers between hers, then curled them, enclosing her hand completely.
Chloe Reed: "..."
’This man always resorts to little tricks like this. But right now, I can’t struggle or move rashly. What if I disrupt the acupressure points? I’d be the one to suffer then.’
Chloe Reed simply closed her eyes, ignoring his little movements.
In Walker Grant’s eyes, this was tacit approval.
He grew bolder, his fingers occasionally caressing the back of her hand. Feeling the soft, cool warmth in his palm, his heart felt as if it had been filled to the brim.
Fiona Linton stood to the side, watching for a moment before she suddenly understood what was happening. Her expression instantly darkened.
This time, she applied more force, actually making Walker Grant feel a twinge of pain.
But Walker Grant’s expression didn’t change; he didn’t even furrow his brow. He just squeezed Chloe’s hand tighter and continued to play pitiful. "Chloe, it hurts."
Fiona Linton: "..."
’This is ridiculous!’
’So by doing this, I’m just giving him what he wants, aren’t I?’
’I’m speechless!’
"..."
「Two days later, he was discharged from the hospital.」
The wounds on Walker Grant’s body were more or less healed. The biggest problem now was his eyes.
Dylan Finch brought over some clothes, placed them by his hand, and asked, "Mr. Grant, should I help you change?"
"No need."
Walker Grant refused coldly, then asked, "Where’s Chloe?"
Dylan Finch said, "Ms. Reed went to speak with the doctor."
Walker Grant sat down and said, "When she gets back, have her help me."
Dylan Finch replied, "Understood."
Chloe Reed returned shortly. Dylan Finch said to her, "Ms. Reed, I have something to take care of. Mr. Grant is changing. Could you go in and see if he needs any help?"
With that, he hurried away.
Chloe Reed pushed open the door to the hospital room and went inside. She saw Walker Grant bent over, fumbling with the clothes, looking as if he couldn’t find the collar or the sleeves at all.
The sight was inexplicably heart-wrenching.
She walked over, took his hand, and wrote in his palm—[I’ll help you.]
But Walker Grant’s fingers curled slightly as he said, "No, it’s fine. I can do it myself."
Then, he turned his head and continued to fumble.
"If I can’t even handle a simple thing like this, wouldn’t that make me useless?" Walker Grant muttered as he fumbled, his tone betraying no particular emotion.
But Chloe Reed’s heart ached.
She watched as he fumbled his way to the collar and picked up the shirt, but he just couldn’t figure out how to get his arms into the sleeves.
She reached out and snatched the shirt from him, then took out her phone and typed, "Are you planning to leave the hospital in your patient gown?"
He hadn’t taken off his patient gown yet.
Walker Grant froze for a moment, then it dawned on him. "I forgot."
Then, he reached out and started unbuttoning his patient gown. He undid them one by one. His skin had grown a bit paler during his hospital stay, and while his muscle definition was still clear, his skin was covered in scars, both old and new.
Chloe Reed’s bright eyes widened in a daze. She subconsciously reached out to touch the scars.
’He never had scars like these on his body before, did he?’
The next second, her wrist was caught. The man’s slightly hoarse voice sounded out.
"Chloe, what are you doing?"
Chloe Reed snapped back to reality, startled by her own actions. She frantically lowered her gaze, but then she remembered—he couldn’t see, and she couldn’t speak.
She simply chose to remain silent, pulling her hand back and not moving any closer to him.
Walker Grant waited for a moment. Seeing no reaction from her, he gave a casual smile and said, "It doesn’t hurt."
