Chapter 393 - 391: Celeste, Your Flowers Have Bloomed So Beautifully

She glanced up again at the Water Mirror, at the Spirit Root growing from her head.

She reached up and touched the flowers blooming on it.

"Nine flowers have bloomed already."

"The Spirit Root looks like it’s grown a lot. If I keep on cultivating, am I going to end up with a literal potted plant on my head?" ’When the branches droop down, covered in all these blossoms, won’t I look just like a potted plant?’

At this thought, she reached up and gently touched the flowers on her head. She could feel the touch, just as if they were a part of her own body.

Celeste Grant was certain she was a true Cultivator, not some plant that had come to life.

At this thought, she gently poked one of the leaves and couldn’t help but murmur, "If I walk outside like this, I’d definitely turn a lot of heads."

Just then, a tall, slender figure appeared beside her. Reflected in the Water Mirror, a large hand reached out and settled on the flowers on her head. His fingers gently caressed a leaf, then lightly touched the small blossoms.

His voice drifted over slowly.

"These flowers of yours are blooming quite nicely."

The newcomer was Javier Sinclair. He was dressed in dark red robes today, his ink-black hair held half-up by a single hairpin. He had his head slightly bowed, leisurely examining the Spirit Root growing from her head, as if pondering why flowers were blooming on it.

A shiver ran through Celeste Grant as his fingers touched the flowers, and her face flushed red.

The flowers were a part of her body, so his touch felt as if he were caressing her directly. She reached out and lightly slapped his hand away. "Alright, that’s enough. It’s rude to keep touching."

Celeste Grant tilted her head, a little curious. He pointed to the flowers on her head and asked, "I’ve actually been meaning to ask... why do flowers bloom on your head? A Spirit Root growing out from the head is unheard of. Never mind the Cultivation World in the Lower Realm; even across the Immortal and Demonic Realms of the Upper Realm, I have never seen anyone whose Spirit Root could grow out of their head." He then added softly, "And not only does it grow out, it blooms."

He wasn’t the other Javier Sinclair, so he didn’t understand why flowers bloomed on Celeste Grant’s head.

He had sensed it after she began her seclusion. The number of flowers on her head had increased, and now nine of them were in bloom.

Celeste Grant shook her head slightly, then looked up at him and said, "I’m not really sure myself. My Spirit Root probably mutated. It’s grown like this ever since I first started my Cultivation, and it had a single flower back then. After that, a new one blooms every time I break through a major realm. I’m used to it by now. It isn’t harmful to me—in fact, my cultivation speed increases with every new bloom. Other than being a little strange, it’s actually pretty great. You get used to it after a while."

’When her Spirit Root first grew from her head, Javier Sinclair had been the first person to see it. It’s just that he no longer remembers.’

Javier Sinclair’s gaze rested on her head, his eyes filled with a probing curiosity. "These flowers look very delicate."

Celeste Grant was speechless. "..."

Hearing this, Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him. "I feel like you’re teasing me."

His fingers brushed against a red flower, then the next, and the next. He didn’t even spare the green leaves.

"Don’t touch them."

Blushing, Celeste Grant reached out and grabbed his hand. Javier Sinclair froze at her action, his gaze landing on her face. "So you can feel it when I touch these flowers." The moment he said it, he realized it was a pointless statement. ’The Spirit Root is part of her body. Isn’t it normal for her to feel it?’

"I see."

He narrowed his eyes slightly.

He gripped her hand in return.

With a gentle tug, he pulled Celeste Grant into his arms. He wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her tight, then lowered his head and pressed a kiss against one of the flowers.

Embarrassed, Celeste Grant retracted the Spirit Root.

"My lady is shy."

As he spoke, he raised a hand to gently stroke her pinned-up hair.

"Celeste."

He called out to her softly.

Tightening his embrace, Javier Sinclair lowered his head to rest it on her shoulder. "You were in seclusion for so long. I can finally hold you again."

’It was a little embarrassing.’

’But he really, truly missed her.’

Although he had visited her in The Sea of Transcendent Souls during her seclusion, he had always longed to hold the real her like this. He lifted his face slightly, pressing it against hers, and whispered, "My lady, I missed you."

Celeste Grant had been in seclusion for so long. Now, embraced in each other’s arms, their joy felt tangible. She had missed him just as much as he had missed her. But in the Cultivation World, a single moment of enlightenment could span many years, so to her, it didn’t feel as if they had been separated for very long.

She wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned into his embrace. She called out to him softly, "My love, I missed you too."

Javier Sinclair murmured.

"Did you miss me, or did you miss *him*?"

Celeste Grant: "..."

She gave a faint smile and gently caressed his back, tilting her head up to look at him.

"It’s you. The you who is right here in front of me." As she spoke, she raised her hands to cup his face. "Are you happy now?"

He didn’t speak, but simply lowered his head and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

Seeing how gentle Javier was being, she rose onto her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his.

As their emotions deepened, the two simply followed their hearts.

He held her and kissed her back.

"Celeste."

"Archfiend."

After the kiss ended.

He pulled back slightly and looked earnestly at her face.

"What are you staring at? Have flowers started growing on my face now?"

"I just feel that I can never look at you enough."

Celeste Grant smiled faintly.

He reached out and hugged her.

He waved his hand.

In the next moment.

The cave residence was suddenly decorated into a warm and inviting space.

Light gauze curtains began to flutter, and a large bed appeared not far from them. Before Celeste Grant could react, he had already swept her into his arms and started walking toward the bed.

Javier Sinclair placed her on the bed.

He knelt on one knee beside her, leaned in to kiss her cheek, and whispered, "My lady, you’ve made me wait for so long. I intend to collect on the debt you owe me."

"Alright."

She reached out, grabbed the front of his robes, and pulled him down.

The two embraced, kissing passionately...

Javier Sinclair and Celeste Grant remained in the cave residence for a very long time. By the time she emerged, three days had passed.

At that moment, she had a blade of grass dangling from her mouth, and she blew out a puff of Spiritual Energy.

Her mind was currently replaying some rather indecent scenes.

The Archfiend’s waist.

The Archfiend’s legs.

And that face of the Archfiend.

She gently rubbed her lower back.

"It’s just a little hard on my back."

But that wasn’t the main issue.

As Celeste Grant stared at the mountain-like pile of skulls before her, her jaw nearly hit the floor. "What... are all these?" She had already thought the skulls hanging all over the antechamber of the cave were a lot; she never expected there to be so many more outside.

As far as the eye could see, there were skulls of all sizes. Array runes floated above them, and dark-red flames burned within their crimson eye sockets.

’So while I was in seclusion, my dear husband got bored and went back to his old line of work.’

Footsteps approached from beside her. Celeste Grant glanced up at him and pointed at the skulls covering the ground. "Don’t tell me this is the kingdom you’ve conquered in my name."
