Chapter 387 - 385: Brother-in-law Has Good Taste
Just then, they all turned to look in their direction.
One of them spoke with a laugh.
"Haha, brother-in-law, great taste!"
"That’s right, that’s right!"
"My, my... what lovely weather we’re having today."
"Daisy, you’re on a date here. You two carry on, we didn’t see a thing. Just pretend we don’t exist."
"Right, right, brother-in-law, Daisy, you two keep going. We’re just passing by."
’Brother-in-law?’
Hearing this, Gideon Forrest’s face flushed red all the way to his neck. He stammered, "I... I’m not... yet."
"They’re all my brothers from the Bloodfury Hall. They don’t mean any harm," Daisy Grant said, giving Gideon Forrest a reassuring smile before striding over with a fierce expression. Her footsteps made the ground tremble as she grabbed them one by one and tossed them right out the door. "You want a show? Get the hell out of here!"
One after another.
She tossed them right out.
"I’ll be back!"
"Daisy, we’re brothers in arms, aaaahhh...!"
She dusted off her hands.
’Finally, some peace and quiet.’
Gideon Forrest’s jaw dropped in shock. He looked at the men who had been thrown out. "Are they going to be okay?"
Daisy Grant replied, "They’re fine. Now that no one’s bothering us, let’s continue."
Hearing "let’s continue," Gideon Forrest’s ears turned red. He nodded slightly. "Okay." He stood up, poured a cup of tea from the tea set, and placed it in front of her. "Have some tea, Sister. Don’t be angry."
"Mm."
Seeing that she hadn’t scared him off, Daisy Grant blushed.
’He called me Sister... and he’s not even afraid of me.’
At that moment, in Daisy’s heart, a little bear was thumping its chest and roaring.
The two of them drank their tea.
Gideon Forrest glanced at her and said, "Sister, you must be very familiar with Bloodfiend City. I just arrived not long ago, so I don’t know my way around yet. Could you show me around? We could go for a walk."
Daisy Grant didn’t think much of it and nodded readily. "Sure, let’s go! This is the Bloodfiend Den’s territory, so I know it like the back of my hand. Where do you want to go?"
Gideon Forrest said, "Anywhere is fine."
"Alright, let’s go."
Gideon Forrest took out a few Spirit Stones and placed them on the table, then followed her out.
After they left, Celeste Grant and Nerida, who were sitting at a nearby table, leaned in to talk to each other.
"See that? I have a feeling those two are going to work out."
"Hahaha, the way that male cultivator, Gideon Forrest, looks at Daisy reminds me of how Rowan Forrest used to look at Rook."
"Speaking of which, Rook and Wanda haven’t had their wedding yet either. If this works out for these two, the siblings could hold a joint cultivation ceremony. That would be lively."
"You’re right, My Lady."
"Let’s head back."
"Yes, My Lady."
「Meanwhile.」
Daisy Grant and Gideon Forrest were also getting along wonderfully, their conversation flowing with ease. To outsiders, their vastly different physiques might have seemed mismatched and strange, but in each other’s eyes, they were perfect.
Before they knew it, evening had fallen.
"Where do you live? I’ll walk you home."
"Sister, it’s late. I’ll walk you home."
They spoke at the same time and couldn’t help but laugh.
The two walked side-by-side through the city.
Bloodfiend City was crowded with people.
They hadn’t walked far when Gideon Forrest suddenly stopped her. "Sister, wait for me a moment." He then disappeared into the crowd. Although she didn’t know what he was doing, she stood there quietly and waited.
A short while later, Gideon Forrest was standing before her again.
"Daisy, this is for you."
He held out his hand.
In it was a hairpin.
It was a Mid Grade Spiritual Artifact.
He had just gone to buy it.
Seeing the hairpin he was offering, Daisy Grant froze for a moment, and a blush shot all the way to her ears. "This is for me?"
Gideon Forrest nodded. "I think it suits you, Sister. You’ll definitely look beautiful wearing it. I didn’t know I’d be meeting you today, so I didn’t prepare anything. Please forgive me."
Hearing this, Daisy Grant’s heart fluttered even more.
She hadn’t expected him to be so thoughtful on their very first meeting. ’So, does this mean he wants to see me again?’
With this in mind, she asked aloud, "Do you want to see me again?"
Gideon Forrest nodded. "May I, Daisy?"
This time, Daisy’s face turned as red as a baboon’s bottom. Without thinking, she blurted out, "Let’s become Taoist Companions!" The moment she said it, she regretted it. "No... that’s not what I meant." ’Aaaahhh, oh heavens, that’s so embarrassing!’
’How could I say something like that?’
’We only just met today!’
Gideon Forrest froze for a second, then immediately reached out and grabbed her hand. He had heard her clearly: *Let’s become Taoist Companions*. Anxious, he quickly pressed, "Daisy, were you serious? Do you really want to become my Taoist Companion?" He didn’t want to miss this chance; if he could settle this in one go, all the better.
’He’s this excited?’
"I... I guess so."
Her mind felt like it was buzzing.
"It’s too noisy here, let’s go over there." He took her hand, turned, and led her away until they reached a less crowded area, arriving at a small bridge. Below them, the water gurgled, and in the distance, the city lights shone brightly.
He stood on the steps leading up to the bridge.
’It’s finally quiet.’
He personally inserted the hairpin into her hair. "Daisy, I’m taking what you said just now seriously." He held her hand and said with a red face, "I’ll be good to you."
Daisy Grant was stunned.
’So fast?’
’I have a Taoist Companion.’
She reached out and pinched her own arm.
"It hurts. I have a Taoist Companion!"
Gideon Forrest blushed and nodded.
He also felt like he was in a dream.
"Daisy, I like you. I never knew what it was like to meet a female cultivator I liked. But after seeing you today, now I know. There’s no reason for it, I just feel like my heart is going to leap out of my chest when I see you. Will you be my Taoist Companion?"
’What is there to even ask?’
’Of course I’m willing, absolutely willing!’
’He’s exactly her favorite type—the kind she likes no matter how she looks at him.’
’And if she happens to be exactly his type, then they’re a match made in heaven.’
"I’m willing! I’m willing!"
She thumped her chest in excitement.
Not only was Daisy tall, but she was also brawny.
"I’m going home right now to tell my big brother." As she said this, she turned to run home but stopped after just two steps. She spun back around, bent down, and hoisted the stationary Gideon Forrest onto her shoulder.
"And you... we’re going home together."
Gideon Forrest blushed. "Daisy, you can put me down. I can walk on my own."
"It’s fine, I’m strong." As she spoke, she noticed how light he was and gave his butt a slap. "You need to eat more in the future, look how skinny you are. Your health isn’t great either. I have lots of Spiritual Medicine; I’ll definitely nurse you back to health. Once you’re all better, you can give me a big, chubby daughter."
Gideon Forrest’s ears turned red.
Then he realized something was wrong with what she’d said.
He couldn’t help but correct her.
"Sister, I’m a man. I can’t give birth." If they were to have children, it would be Daisy who gave birth. The thought of becoming Taoist Companions with her made him blush again.
"Oh, right, you can’t. It’s fine, it’s the same if I give birth."
As she walked through the city, the pair attracted countless stares.
’This feels so strange, like I’m being carried home by a Demoness.’ And yet, he was ashamed to admit it felt amazing. He never expected that his blind date, which he hadn’t had high hopes for, would lead him to his ideal Taoist Companion. It was love at first sight for him.
「The next day.」
When Celeste Grant heard from Nerida that the two were already inseparable, she nearly choked and couldn’t help but exclaim, "That was incredibly fast."
