Chapter 1396: We Will Do Our Best
Alice Turner thought the call was from Anthony again, but after taking out the phone, she realized she was wrong. This call was from Anthony’s father, Frederick Taylor.
She didn’t dare hesitate at all and immediately answered the call, "Hello! Chairman!"
As she spoke, she unconsciously sat up straight.
"Has Jacob caused any trouble?" Frederick referred to Anthony by his Chinese name, and this was what he was most worried about.
The person on the other end did not ask about work progress at first but rather about Anthony’s situation. Alice was slightly surprised but soon understood, "No, Jacob has been very well-behaved."
That ancestor often caused trouble when they were in Italy. She originally didn’t want to bring that ancestor along, but she couldn’t resist that ancestor’s repeated ’pleas,’ so she finally agreed to bring the ancestor back to the country.
However, judging by the current situation, she felt that bringing the ancestor along this time seemed to be the right decision. Not only did that ancestor not cause any trouble, but he also was a great help to her.
"It’s good he hasn’t caused any trouble." Hearing Alice say that Anthony hadn’t caused any trouble made Frederick much more relieved. He no longer mentioned the issue of Anthony causing trouble and shifted the topic to work, "If there’s anything you need for work, you can directly assign it to Jacob. Jacob is there to assist you with your work just like Grace Young."
He spoke very directly and clearly, without any twists and turns.
"I understand, and I’ll definitely have Jacob involved in more work matters." Alice thought the same in her heart. Getting Anthony involved in work matters had always been her hope. Although that ancestor seemed somewhat unlearned and without skills in others’ eyes, she didn’t think so. From the first interaction with that ancestor, she never thought so.
The more time she spent with that ancestor, the more fond she became of him and felt that he was a genuinely good person. That ancestor was not at all like his outward appearance.
Frederick wasn’t blind. He noticed all of Alice’s kindness and care towards Anthony and silently remembered them. Precisely because of these situations, he felt completely assured letting her bring Anthony to Flame City.
"You two handle things over there as you see fit. If there’s anything you can’t resolve, call me anytime. My private line is open for you twenty-four hours." As a boss and a father, Frederick felt he should do this. Moreover, he had a heartfelt trust in Alice’s abilities, and with this task and Anthony in her hands, he felt particularly reassured.
"We will definitely do well."
Alice held great respect for Frederick as a boss. He was the second good boss she had encountered; the first was from the company she had previously worked at.
These two bosses shared one common trait, which was their trust in their employees. They both adhered to the principle of not doubting the ones they employ and not employing those they doubt.
"I won’t disturb your work, then. Goodbye." Frederick was straightforward, hanging up immediately after speaking without any hesitation.
Alice wasn’t surprised by this situation at all. She put away the phone and planned to continue working. As she inadvertently glanced up, she saw Thomas Fisher walking towards her.
As the man came closer, her heart began to tense up, and her hands unconsciously tightened around the laptop. Because she was gripping too hard, the veins on the back of her hands became visible.
