Chapter 1397: Stop Insulting Me
Thomas Fisher keenly noticed Alice Turner’s tense, vein-popping hand. He clearly saw the tension emanating from within her. Sighing inaudibly, he strode over and sat down beside her.
"Alice! Why are you so tense?" He had heard the call she just answered and wanted to talk to her about their cooperation, not expecting her to misunderstand.
Seeing how tense she was, he suddenly lost the desire to discuss work. He leaned in closer to her, staring at her without blinking.
Alice Turner was already quite nervous, and with Thomas Fisher suddenly leaning closer, her anxiety intensified. She clutched her laptop and shuffled backward.
But when she shifted back, he moved forward. As she kept moving back, he continued to follow her, moving closer.
"Thomas Fisher! Don’t act recklessly, my husband will be back soon, you..."
"Do you think I’m afraid of him?"
Before Alice Turner could finish her words, Thomas couldn’t stand it anymore and interrupted her with a dark expression.
She kept mentioning her husband in front of him. She might not get tired of saying it, but he was tired of hearing it, it was irking him.
What’s so good about that feeble-looking man? How did her taste in men get so skewed? What on earth had she gone through these past few years? Why did she choose to marry someone like him?
She married someone else so easily. Did she never think about him all these years?
She must not have thought about him; otherwise, she wouldn’t have married so easily.
With this conclusion in mind, Thomas’s eyes surged with emotions. Suddenly, he leaned over and trapped Alice between his arms and the bed back. "Have you thought of me at all these years? When you agreed to marry that wimp, did you not hesitate even slightly?"
His eyes, swirling with emotion, were fixed intently on her, hoping to see something reflected there.
"Can’t you just talk without getting so close?" Alice tried to push away Thomas, who was trapping her, but despite her efforts, he remained unmoving, which placed a heavy pressure on both her body and mind.
Instead of straightening up as Alice wished, Thomas leaned even closer to her, "Look into my eyes and answer me, have you thought about me these past years?"
Her gaze intentionally avoided his, making it difficult for him to glimpse any information from her eyes.
"Do you want to hear me say that I missed you?" Suddenly, Alice turned her gaze to Thomas, and as she did, the panic in her eyes was replaced by coldness. "Since you want to hear it so much, I’ll fulfill your wish now. I missed you, these years I’ve been thinking about you every day, I want to..."
Thomas quickly lowered his head and kissed Alice’s incessant lips, swallowing the words she hadn’t finished saying. He had intended only to stop her from speaking heartlessly, but the moment he kissed her, he suddenly changed his mind.
Indeed, what Alice just said was the truth. Over the years, she had thought most about Thomas. Even though he was now right beside her, she still couldn’t suppress missing him.
She really wanted to lean in his arms and tell him about the longing of the past five years, but she couldn’t do that; the label of being his good brother’s ex-wife was something she couldn’t peel off of herself.
"Thomas Fisher! Stop insulting me."
While Thomas was in a daze, Alice mustered her strength and pushed him away.
