Chapter 1416: Please Control Your Emotions
Ever since unexpectedly seeing Alice Turner at the hotel yesterday, Benjamin Shaw’s emotions have been in turmoil. Remembering how things had become so tense between him and Alice five years ago, he had no idea how to face her.
It took him a day to calm his emotions. After adjusting his mindset, he came to find her with anticipation.
Who knew, he would see such a situation—Thomas Fisher with Anthony and Alice Turner together, and the trio seemed so harmonious on the surface.
Benjamin could have guessed that Thomas would come here to find Alice, but what surprised him was how calmly Thomas faced his rival. He was really taken aback by this.
"Ex-hubby!"
While Benjamin was still puzzled and surprised, Anthony stepped out of the car and waved to him as soon as he got out.
Hearing Anthony call him "ex-hubby" again, Benjamin’s emotions weren’t as tumultuous as they were yesterday morning. Although he felt uncomfortable inside, he managed to remain calm on the surface.
"Hello!"
Since he was her ex-husband anyway, whether he liked or accepted it, he was still her ex-husband. Thinking this, he felt much more at ease, raising his hand to greet the person who greeted him.
Benjamin’s response took Anthony by surprise, but he didn’t dwell on it too much. He walked toward Benjamin, standing at the hotel entrance, without checking if Alice and Thomas were following.
"Did you come today to take my wife out to dinner, ex-hubby, or to discuss matters with my wife and me?" When he came over, Anthony recalled what happened yesterday morning and couldn’t help but ask with a teasing tone.
Benjamin wasn’t deaf, nor was he stupid; he instantly caught on to Anthony’s underlying meaning. His expression darkened slightly, but anyone not observing closely might not notice.
"From the looks of it, it seems you’ve already had dinner." Benjamin looked coolly at Anthony, who had approached him, then looked past him toward Alice Turner and Thomas Fisher walking towards him, focusing his attention on Alice.
Following Benjamin’s gaze, Anthony’s eyes fell precisely on Alice Turner.
Although there was some distance, Alice clearly felt Benjamin’s gaze on her, causing her heart to become apprehensive. She tried to control her steps to appear natural and calm.
"Ex-hubby! She’s my wife now, please control your emotions." Anthony withdrew his gaze from Alice Turner and looked sideways at Benjamin, his face full of dissatisfaction, yet his lips curled playfully.
Hearing Anthony’s voice again, an awkward expression briefly appeared on Benjamin’s face. However, when he turned to Anthony, any trace of embarrassment vanished, replaced by calm and composure.
"I’m an ex-husband now, and that day will come for you too." Benjamin said, glancing at the approaching Thomas Fisher.
"Third brother! You’re here."
Thomas Fisher hadn’t heard what Anthony and Benjamin had just said, but judging by their expressions, he guessed that their conversation hadn’t been very pleasant.
Hearing Thomas Fisher call Benjamin "third brother," Anthony exclaimed in surprise, "Third brother?! Are you Mr. Fisher’s brother?"
