Chapter 1375: We’re All One Family
Lily Turner and her brother William Turner were chatting in the room when Easton Holmes arrived unexpectedly at the Turner Family home. Seeing him suddenly appear, Christopher Turner assumed he was there to take Lily home. Without waiting for him to ask, Christopher spoke up, "Lily is upstairs chatting with William. Do you want to go up there to find her now, or would you like to sit here for a bit before going up?"
Christopher pointed to a spot not far from him, and although he spoke like that, what he really intended was for Easton to go over and sit down.
"I’ll just wait for her to come down here."
Christopher’s intention was so obvious that Easton found it hard to ignore. Originally, he came with the important charge given by his granddad, uncle, and aunt. He walked over and sat down without a moment’s hesitation.
Seeing Easton sit down on the sofa, Sophia Wood leaned over to pour him a glass of water, then got up and pushed it in front of him. "Have some water first."
After pushing the glass of water to him, she returned to the seat she had originally been sitting in.
"Okay." Easton responded politely with a nod, reached out, and picked up the glass of water Sophia handed to him. After drinking two sips, he spoke again, "Is William okay?"
With such a sudden incident, would that kid not have some shadow in his heart?
"What could happen to him? How’s Athena?" Before Sophia could respond, Christopher spoke up first. Right now, he wasn’t worried about his son at all; he always believed his son was a man and that it was only the girl who would suffer from such incidents.
This question was a bit tricky for Easton to answer. From the moment he entered, he noticed that Sophia’s expression didn’t look quite right. Whether he spoke the truth or made up an excuse, it wouldn’t sit well with his mother-in-law.
The little brother was the most innocent in this matter. It came upon him so suddenly that Easton himself didn’t expect this kind of situation to occur.
When he first found out, he simply couldn’t believe it.
"Dad! Mom!" Easton called out to Christopher and Sophia, and then, straightening his expression, he continued seriously, "Today, I came here entrusted by my granddad and uncle and aunt. They asked me to apologize to the two of you and to apologize on Athena’s behalf to William, and change..."
"Why apologize amongst family, and no need to apologize to William. He’s a boy, and he’s fine." As Easton spoke so earnestly, Christopher couldn’t hold back and interrupted him, "We’re all family, no need to be so formal, being so formal makes it seem too distant."
That girl was the cousin of his son-in-law, and there might be a chance for a change in their relationship in the future. He didn’t want to complicate matters.
Sophia actually felt quite uncomfortable with this matter, but hearing Easton express himself this way, she was deeply touched, yet for a moment, she didn’t know what to say.
Easton looked at both Sophia and Christopher, continuing from where he left off, "Another day, my uncle and aunt will bring Athena to come and apologize personally. Today they..."
"No need, for such a minor matter it’s not necessary." Christopher interrupted Easton once more, and his emotions seemed to become a bit agitated, though he himself didn’t seem to notice.
This time, Sophia didn’t remain silent. Although she didn’t quite agree with Christopher’s attitude toward this matter, she found his words made sense, "Tell your uncle and aunt there’s no need to come and apologize specifically, I..."
