Thomas Fisher didn’t transfer Athena Linton to the customer service department without a reason; it was due to a cause related to a shocking piece of news he received in a call from Easton Holmes a few days ago.
His older brother told him over the phone that the girl he always considered as a little sister had developed feelings for him.
Initially, upon hearing this, he thought his brother was playing a prank on him. But upon reflecting, he realized that his brother rarely joked, let alone played pranks.
Thomas Fisher didn’t ask Easton Holmes how he knew this because it held no significance for him. What mattered was knowing that Athena Linton liked him.
He also didn’t question his big brother’s reasons for calling him about this matter, as he was already very clear about his brother’s intentions and purpose. Even without Easton saying it, Thomas understood it all.
Easton Holmes didn’t want Athena Linton to be hurt by this, nor did he want Thomas Fisher to be troubled by it. One was his good friend, and the other was his sister; he hoped both would be happy like they were before.
Thomas Fisher understood all of this. In his heart, he always considered Athena Linton as a sister, never entertaining any other thoughts.
Previously, unaware, he could keep her by his side as a secretary. But now that he knew, he could no longer be so casual; he had to maintain absolute distance from her.
Athena Linton was completely unaware of Easton’s call to Thomas. Being suddenly transferred to the customer service department by Thomas, she truly believed, as he said, that he didn’t want to waste her talents.
Although they were in the same company, Athena Linton found it extremely difficult to see Thomas Fisher. During work hours, she couldn’t even catch a glimpse of him.
After work, she had thought she would be able to see him, yet she still couldn’t spot his figure, giving her the illusion that he didn’t come to the office at all.
Athena Linton decided to change her strategy. Instead of waiting for Thomas Fisher along the path he usually left the company, she would wait for him directly in the underground parking lot.
She originally thought this way she could see him, but despite searching the parking lot, she couldn’t find his car.
Not finding his car was one thing, but unexpectedly, she was mistaken for a thief and expelled by the parking lot security. After one mishap, she didn’t dare go a second time.
Being mistaken for a thief was inconsequential, but if Thomas found out about her actions, that wouldn’t be ideal. She simply wanted a chance encounter with him.
Athena Linton didn’t realize that Thomas Fisher was purposely avoiding her. Her being driven away by the parking lot security was actually orchestrated by him in the background.
Because of Thomas Fisher’s deliberate avoidance, Athena Linton didn’t see him for several consecutive days. She felt intensely frustrated yet couldn’t think of any effective way to meet him.
At this moment, she suddenly thought of her brother Easton Holmes. Since her brother was his good friend, she decided to take a risk to meet him.
As soon as she thought of this, she immediately put the plan into action after returning home from work the same day. After everyone finished dinner, she called out to her brother, "Brother!"
She only called him "brother" once, without saying anything else.
Upon hearing his sister’s call, Easton Holmes instinctively stopped his steps, turned his head, and looked at his sister, "What’s up?"
