Observing the crowd in the courtyard drinking large bowls of alcohol, Sun Changfu felt his heart bleeding.

Li Yungui spoke beautifully, saying that today’s guests were all friends and family, and any neglect should be met with understanding.

Chaoyang looked at Jing Chu beside him, lowered his head, and whispered, "Why don’t you go back inside? It’s too cold outside, and we don’t need to toast anymore."

"Ask Dad’s opinion." Jing Chu indeed didn’t like being watched by so many people like a monkey. She had wanted to go back inside for a while, but it wasn’t appropriate to say so.

Guests who weren’t from Li Family Village were all stunned by Lv Jingchu’s beauty. This bride was too pretty; they’ve never seen such a beautiful girl before.

Li Yungui’s son Chaoyang was considered the most outstanding young man in the area. Finding a wife like this, everyone understood.

Those who weren’t happy at first were now convinced; their daughters couldn’t compete with her.

Before Chaoyang could ask, Li Yungui and Lv Beiguang spoke simultaneously, telling Jing Chu to go back inside.

Chaoyang even escorted Jing Chu back. This display of affection was making everyone envious.

Friends of Li Yungui called him over for a drink.

Li Yunqiang, Hong Lin, and Xiang Dong followed behind him, drinking on his behalf when possible, but even so, Li Yungui still drank too much.

Qu Xiaoli arranged meals for over a dozen women and children who were helping out.

The wedding banquet lasted until two in the afternoon. Li Yungui had drunk so much that he could barely walk.

Many hands made light work, and cleaning up was quick; borrowed items were returned. Every family would give five eggs, which was more of a gesture than anything.

"I’m exhausted. I certainly don’t want this for my own wedding," Changhe sighed. He would be next, and looking at today’s scene made him a bit apprehensive.

Hong Lin laughed out loud hearing his brother say this, "Changhe, do you have someone in mind?"

"Not yet, but could I avoid it?"

Even though no one was forcing Chaoyang to drink, with a sip from this person and a sip from that, he was still quite tipsy.

Jing Chu wanted to help with the chores but was rejected by Wang Menglin, who instead told her to play with the children.

They finally finished everything by around five in the afternoon.

Qu Xiaoli kept only a little of the remaining meat and vegetables, enough for the night, and distributed the rest among those who helped, which was, again, more of a gesture.

By this time, Chaoyang was awake and saw his wife sitting on the kang playing with his little brother and nephews, grinning so wide it could reach the back of his head.

He leaned sideways, propping his head with his hand, watching them play and imagining how wonderful it would be when they had their own children.

Wang Menglin, Yue Lanfeng, and Li Xue came in to pick up their kids.

Seeing the younger brother-in-law and nephews lying there smiling, they didn’t dare to tease him.

They all knew Jing Chu was thin-skinned, so they left with their children.

Jing Chen didn’t want to go, "Aunt, aren’t you going home? It’s time to eat."

Li Xue, holding her son’s hand, felt a bit helpless.

"Jing Chen, from now on, this will be your aunt’s home." Chaoyang said with a smile.

"No, it’s not. Aunt, let’s go home."

Chaoyang crawled over to hold his wife’s hand, "Yes, from now on, this will be your aunt’s home."

This made Jing Chen anxious, "Aunt, let’s go home."

Jing Chu felt a surge of warmth, "Jing Chen, Aunt will definitely go home tomorrow. Will you wait for Aunt at home?"

"Go home now."

At this moment, Guodong came in. His wife had gone to pick up their child; why was it taking so long? Everyone else had left.

"Jing Chen, let’s go home. Your little uncle and aunt have arrived home."

"Aunt should come home with us."

Chaoyang was about to say something when Jing Chu patted him, quieting him down.

Seeing his aunt hit his uncle, Jing Chen didn’t burst into tears.

Guodong took his son’s hand, "Quick, go home. Your little uncle is crying again, and you’re the only one who can comfort him."

The child, still young, was coaxed into leaving by his father.

Now it was just the two of them left. Chaoyang smiled and held Jing Chu’s hand.

"Wife, we’re finally together."

Jing Chu found Chaoyang’s playful side quite refreshing as he pulled her into an embrace.

"Behave, there are still people around."

"Wife, I’m not doing anything, just want to hold you."

"Even holding isn’t allowed, I need to go help."

Chaoyang had no choice but to get up. The couple went to Li Yungui’s room where the whole family was gathered.

They wanted to leave, but Qu Xiaoli wouldn’t let them, insisting they stay for dinner.

Li Yungui was still unconscious from drinking too much.

In the end, Li Yunqiao’s family didn’t stay for dinner; the Red Army drove them home.

"Red Army, don’t come back tonight. It’s better to wait until morning, it’s not safe on the roads," Qu Xiaoli advised, since there was no urgency to return now.

That night, only Li Yungui and Li Yunqiang’s families had dinner together, and Jing Chu still didn’t have to work.

Chaoyang was anxious; he just wanted dinner over with so they could go back to their room.

Everyone understood, so after dinner, they allowed the couple to retire to their room.

Chaoyang was truly excited; he fetched water for his wife, only to be shooed out by Jing Chu.

Chaoyang stood by the door, and hearing no sounds from inside, he entered to find his wife already tucked in bed. Overcome with excitement, he quickly freshened up and got into bed.

He squeezed into his wife’s bed, unable to contain his excitement.

Their first time was clumsy; Jing Chu found it painful and uncomfortable, but Chaoyang felt differently, though he too felt some discomfort.

Throughout the night, Jing Chu lost count of how many times it happened.

Even when she hit Chaoyang, it didn’t deter him.

"Wife, you must understand me. I really couldn’t hold back. Jing Chu, my Jing Chu."

The next morning, Jing Chu didn’t get up. Chaoyang hadn’t slept all night, and the contentment was beyond words.

They lay there naked, in each other’s arms, making Chaoyang wish this could last a lifetime.

It wasn’t until after ten that Jing Chu woke, groggy, reaching for her watch and doing a double-take. At first, she thought she’d misread it, and after rubbing her eyes, she checked again, pinching the man holding her several times in anger.

"It’s all your fault! How can I face anyone?"

Chaoyang obediently waited, even relaxing to make it easier for her, but he didn’t release the arm hugging her.

"Yes, it’s my fault. Don’t be mad."

Jing Chu listened to his cheeky words and gave him another couple of slaps before struggling to get up.

Chaoyang got excited again and Jing Chu, frightened, quickly warned him, which allowed her to finally get up and dress.

When the couple emerged from their room, the house was quiet. Only the faint sounds could be heard from the main hall.

Chaoyang made sure to prepare water for washing up, and Wang Menglin, glancing over, smiled and said, "Mom, Chaoyang really knows how to please Jing Chu."

"He must have been scolded." Qu Xiaoli laughed.
