Chapter 165: The Fate Of The World
He was ready in no time, the sunlight poured in through the window properly now. He smelled of lavender as he threw on his signature white Royal garment.
He picked up his luggage and took in the scents around him, he was finally leaving this place after almost a month. It had been a surreal experience and he was going to cherish every single moment of it.
When he stepped outside with his luggage, he found what seemed to be the entire family already waiting outside to send him away.
But there were two people missing. The Primarch and Heimdall. He understood why Heimdall would refrain from sending him off, but the Primarch was probably out of pride. Understandable.
They all turned around to watch Jacob walk out of the building. He towered above every single one of them easily. His hair flowed, white as snow.
His facial features were out of this world, he could see the maidens blushing on one side.
"Jacob! You didn’t think we weren’t going to give you a proper send off now did you?" Light said out loud. The young man’s voice was naturally loud but Jacob and the rest of Light’s family was used to it by now.
"Haha, this is too much." Jacob replied modestly.
"Nonsense my son! You are always welcome here." Cecilia, who had been speaking with Xenia, said as she moved towards Jacob, she placed both hands on his shoulders and smiled at him. Then she gave way for him to walk towards the carriage.
Jacob and Light shared a light hug, with Light whispering. "See you again soon my friend," in Jacob’s ear.
Jacob just nodded and responded. "Definitely, you should visit my home sometime."
"That I will."
The entire family waved goodbye to him as he stepped into the carriage right behind Xenia. He was off to explore the rest of the world he lived in.
He took a deep breath and Leon whipped the horses and with a single "Hyah!" The carriage took off.

They had been traveling for a few minutes in silence, it was so quiet that Leon even wondered if something had transpired between the two of them, but he didn’t want to interfere,
Jacob had been in his mind the entire time, thinking of where to go next. Xenia, on the other hand, was deliberately avoiding speaking to Jacob.
The young master had apologized to her so many times, but he refused to accept.
"So where to next, young master?" Leon asked through the hole in the front of the carriage for the first time.
"Hmm, where to next? Where to next?" Jacob pretended to ponder over the question as he used his photographic memory to pull up a copy of the map in his mind, glossing over the terrains that could be visited.
"How about Malkovia." Jacob started, "or Zethurne."
"Ohh I’ve heard it’s fantastic in any one of those places, the cities are beautiful and the people are—"
Leon’s voice faded away as Jacob instantly felt light headed, his eyesight faded immediately as he passed out.
He found himself drawn into a space filled with endless nothingness, it reminded him of something.
"Jacob Ironfell."
The voice was familiar, it called out to him. There was no other being capable of this, it was The Regulator.
"Long time no see Regulator, sir, why have you called me here in the middle of my journey?" Jacob asked, his body had gone limp in the real world.
He could hear the faint voices of Xenia and Leon shouting his name and trying to wake him up, but it was all to no avail.
"There is a matter that gravely concerns your livelihood and that if your entire family. I’m sure you felt it. A feeling that the balance of the world had been tipped and everyone was in impending danger."
Jacob recalled the sensation he felt this morning, he knew it was not unfounded, he floated around in the space like he had always done.
"Yes I felt it. What is the matter and how can I help."
"You will not be helping, the fate of your world rests in your hands. The demon king has a plan to infuse the World Tree, the source of all cultivation, with his essence. And use the power to free himself from Helmand, his eternal prison. If he succeeds, then the world as you know it, is in grave danger."
Jacob went silent, lost in his own thoughts, but the Regulator continued regardless.
"You have limited time, and if you do not act, then there is nothing I can do to help."
"Aren’t you The Regulator, can’t you just stop the demon king yourself or something?"
"I will tell you this only one time, I do not have the power to affect the happenings of the multiverse, I can only oversee. The only reason you exist is because I am given a charge to reincarnate one human every century." The Regulator said, his words were firm and unwavering. Jacob instantly knew the being was speaking in all seriousness.
"So what do I do? How do I stop it?" Jacob asked.
"That is up to you Jacob, my job is to provide you with information, if you want to go into Helmand yourself, or wait for when he attacks the world tree, it’s up to you."
The Regulator did not even wait for a response as Jacob’s consciousness was immediately whooshed back into his body.
He opened his eyes to see Xenia, almost teary eyed as she shook him violently, Leon was standing off to the side, also looking worried as they tried to wake him up.
"Young master! Young master!" Xenia called out as the young man opened his eyes.
When she saw that he had regained consciousness, she immediately hugged him, an action that brought shock to his face but he welcomed it.
The next thing she heard was laughter, Jacob was laughing as she hugged him, she pulled away to find the young man laughing hysterically.
He then looked at her and said a few words that sounded cocky but hit her in her core.
"Guess you can’t be angry with me for too long."
