Chapter 497: Successful Remarriage
The two of them arrived at the marriage registration area.
A staff member saw Annabelle Linton and immediately broke into a smile. Annabelle saw her grinning from a mile away.
When they walked up, the staff member was beaming, her manner incredibly warm and familiar. "You’re here!"
’What the hell?’
Annabelle Linton and Leona Grant exchanged a look of perfect understanding.
Annabelle was sure she didn’t know the woman.
The staff member said with a giggle, "Aren’t you the couple who got divorced a few months ago? I remember. Your surname is Linton, right? Haha, you’re a celebrity at our Civil Affairs Bureau now! Chase, Chase, go get Lina! Look who’s here!"
Annabelle Linton: "..."
The staff member busied herself with some paperwork, her smile widening. "Are you here to remarry? Haha, I knew you wouldn’t really stay divorced."
Leona Grant liked the last part of what she said.
He interpreted her words as, ’I knew you wouldn’t stay divorced. You two are perfect for each other.’
The corners of his lips lifted as he pulled Annabelle Linton into his arms dotingly. He said with a smile, "It was just a little tiff, her throwing a tantrum. We never planned to really stay apart."
Annabelle Linton shot him a cold glance but didn’t say anything.
"That’s good, that’s good."
Beaming, the staff member pulled a folder from the very top of a pile of documents, took it down, and handed it to them. "Just sign here. Once you sign, you can skip all the other procedures. You’ll be successfully remarried!"
It was so simple that Leona Grant felt uneasy. He frowned and asked, "That’s it?"
The staff member said brightly, "Remarrying usually isn’t this simple, but you two are different. I just knew you’d be back to get remarried, so I kept all your basic information right here. All you need to do is sign. Come on, come on, less talking, more signing!"
As soon as she finished, she turned to the window on the other side and shouted, gesturing wildly, "Lina! Lina! Haha, I won! The couple we bet on came back to remarry! Hurry up and hand over that thousand yuan! Hahaha!"
Annabelle Linton: "..."
Leona Grant: "..."
The legendary Lina was nowhere to be seen, but her powerful voice carried over. "Screw you! What about that other couple? Didn’t you say they’d be back to marry within a year? They haven’t shown up, so we’re even!"
Leona Grant: "..."
Annabelle Linton: "..."
"Well now, you bitch!"
"Who the fuck are you calling a bitch?"
"Yeah, you! Got a problem with it?"
"You say that one more time!"
"I’ll say it! You think I’m afraid of you?"
The two of them looked like they were about to start a fight, and a crowd of onlookers began to gather. Leona Grant shouted in a low voice, "Process our remarriage first!"
’Damn it, this Civil Affairs Bureau is full of weirdos. I’m never coming back here again!’
’Settle your grudges in private! Don’t hold us up!’
The staff member finally snapped out of it, shot a vicious glare across the room, and handed the documents to the couple. "Don’t mind her. She’s a psycho!"
"..." ’You’re no saint either, betting on other people’s marriages.’
But strangely enough, after all the chaos, Leona Grant actually felt more at ease.
After he signed his name, he stared at Annabelle Linton without blinking.
Annabelle Linton began to write her name, but she suddenly paused.
She thought of Aaron Wyatt.
’We could have gotten married, too. What will he do now that he knows the truth?’
’Either way, I’ve hurt him again...’
Giving herself no chance to back out, Annabelle Linton quickly scrawled the rest of her name.
The silver seal came down, and two little red booklets were placed in their hands again.
’We’re married again...’
Annabelle Linton didn’t know why, but in that moment, she felt particularly heavy-hearted.
Leona Grant sensed her sudden melancholy and said nothing.
The two of them had just walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau in silence, one after the other, when Annabelle Linton saw Aaron Wyatt’s car speeding toward them.
