Chapter 578: He is My Husband 2
"Hmph. As if you’d dare!"
"Heh... right..."
"What’s the rush?"
Annabelle Linton was just about to speak when Leona Grant’s voice sounded out. He pulled her into an intimate embrace, his voice gentle.
But only Annabelle Linton knew how much force he was using as his hand gripped her waist.
...They were both the same, using force behind the scenes.
Just after getting out of the car, Annabelle Linton had seen the lively crowd and walked over. Leona Grant had run into an acquaintance and exchanged a few words, which was why he was late...
As Leona Grant pulled Annabelle Linton into his arms, Quentin Holland’s hand, which had been on her arm, suddenly found itself holding nothing but air. It froze awkwardly in place.
However, Quentin Holland didn’t look embarrassed at all.
He calmly retracted his hand, slid it into his pocket, and glanced at the couple’s posture, raising an eyebrow imperceptibly.
"Junior Sister, and this is...?"
Annabelle Linton smiled, glanced at Leona Grant, and said, "Senior, this is my husband."
A sense of satisfaction instantly swelled in Leona Grant’s chest.
It seemed to be the first time Annabelle Linton had ever introduced him to one of her friends. The feeling was strangely wonderful.
In the past, he would have disdained speaking to anyone, but this was different. Now, his identity was "Annabelle Linton’s husband."
’She can only have one husband.’
"Hello. Quentin Holland." Quentin Holland’s lips curved into an inscrutable smile as he extended a hand toward Leona Grant.
Leona Grant looked at the hand for a few seconds before extending his own to shake it. The corner of his mouth twitched into a similar smile. "Leona Grant."
Hearing the name, Quentin Holland nodded thoughtfully and said coolly, "So you’re Mr. Grant. I’ve heard so much about you."
Leona Grant keenly sensed the ill will coming from the other man, and a harsh frost spread in the depths of his eyes.
He was the second man, after Aaron Wyatt, that Leona Grant had taken an instant dislike to.
Leona Grant said with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, "Professor Holland is quite famous himself."
As soon as the words were out, they released their hands in perfect, unspoken agreement.
Although Annabelle Linton was just standing to the side, she was sharp enough to feel the... subtle atmosphere between the two men.
’Ugh, heh... Neither of these two is easy to deal with.’ Annabelle decided to take Leona Grant for a walk around first; at the very least, she couldn’t let them stay together.
’If they stay together any longer... I have a bad feeling something’s going to happen...’
’Don’t ask me what they’d fight about, what would happen, or why I have this feeling.’
’I don’t know either!’
Annabelle Linton was just about to suggest taking Leona Grant for a walk when Quentin Holland beat her to it. "When did you get married, Junior Sister? What’s wrong, has your dear senior lost his memory or something? How come I don’t remember our little Annabelle getting married?"
Annabelle Linton looked at Quentin Holland and found him staring at her intently. Although he was smiling, there wasn’t a trace of mirth in his eyes.
In truth, Annabelle Linton had known Aaron Wyatt for seven years, ever since her freshman year of college, and she had known Quentin Holland for five.
It was just that Aaron Wyatt was more approachable, and because they were roommates, they had more opportunities to spend time together, so their relationship was better.
Her relationship with Quentin Holland was also very good, just not as good as with Aaron Wyatt.
Being with Aaron Wyatt felt relaxed. As for being with Quentin Holland... it was similar to being with Leona Grant. Both of them had a domineering air about them.
Annabelle Linton and Leona Grant exchanged a look of perfect understanding.
Back then... when she got married, she was afraid Leona Grant wouldn’t play along, so she hadn’t invited a single classmate or friend.
No one knew that she had actually been married for two and a half years...
Just like Aaron Wyatt back then, who also hadn’t known she was already married.
