Chapter 569 - 568: I’m Leaving
Annabelle Linton was furious, but there was nothing she could do.
...
The next morning, Leona Grant was still asleep when Annabelle Linton came to his side and nudged him anxiously. "Leona Grant, Leona Grant, wake up. I need to tell you something."
Leona Grant’s eyes remained lazily shut. The morning light cast across his chiseled face, highlighting his perfect profile. He was handsome and utterly captivating.
Where the silk comforter had slipped away, his firm muscles were exposed. He exuded an air of sated satisfaction, his innate sex appeal on full display.
Even for someone as naturally aloof and indifferent to physical beauty as Annabelle Linton, the sight made her heart skip a beat in stunned admiration.
Having exerted himself all night, Leona Grant was a little tired. He reached out, pulled her domineeringly into his arms, and rolled over to pin her beneath him. "What is it?" he asked, his voice husky. "Tell me..."
His unique, clean scent washed over her in an instant, and Leona Grant couldn’t resist planting a soft kiss on the side of her face.
"Let go of me first..."
He was only holding her, yet he had her pinned so completely she couldn’t budge. Annabelle Linton frowned and pushed against him, but he only held her tighter.
Trapped in his embrace, she said helplessly, "I have to leave. I just wanted to let you know."
Hearing this, Leona Grant didn’t think much of it. With his eyes still closed, he cupped her breast, a wicked smirk playing on his lips. "Where are you going? Inside me? Spread your legs, I’ll do all the work..."
’...This lecher.’
Annabelle Linton smacked him hard. She was tempted to just get up and leave without another word.
But there was something more important to discuss. "Stop messing around. I’m serious."
He really was exhausted.
Leona Grant caught her hand and began to rub it with his own. He frowned, his eyes still closed, and mumbled groggily, "Don’t hit so hard. Won’t your hand hurt...?"
"Mhm, mhm, mhm," Annabelle Linton hummed distractedly. While he was busy rubbing her hand, she quickly scrambled out of bed.
Then, she said again, her tone serious and firm, "I’m leaving. I came to tell you."
"Running around so early in the morning..." Leona Grant tried to pull her back into his arms. "Be good. Stay and sleep with me for a little longer. If you need something bought, just let Madam King handle it..."
Glancing at her watch, she saw she was running out of time. "No, it’s not that," Annabelle Linton said urgently. "I have to make a trip to Serenvale."
Those words jolted him awake.
Leona Grant’s eyes flew open. He shot up into a sitting position and stared at her.
Annabelle Linton’s face was exquisitely made up. She had on fiery red lipstick, and her eye makeup had clearly taken a long time to apply.
She wore a form-fitting black dress that perfectly outlined her stunning, curvaceous figure. Her hair had been curled, cascading down in large, alluring waves that made her look both bewitching and sensual.
She wore four-inch high heels, and the clean, elegant scent of her perfume wafted toward him.
Annabelle Linton was one of those women who were naturally, breathtakingly beautiful without a hint of makeup. With it, the effect was simply sublime, making her impossibly gorgeous.
She exuded a cool, stunning beauty that was on a whole other level.
Only then did Leona Grant realize what she really meant by "leaving."
His first reaction was, ’Did I do something to upset her?’
’...Or was she unhappy because I was too demanding last night?’
’But if she were angry, she wouldn’t be talking to me.’
Leona Grant started to panic a little.
But seeing her all dressed to go out first thing in the morning, his tone soured. "Where do you think you’re going?"
’All dressed up like that.’
Annabelle Linton smoothed out her dress, a rare look of excitement on her face. "My senior is holding the ribbon-cutting ceremony for his new rehabilitation center in Serenvale today. It’s a huge event, and a lot of influential figures from the medical community will be there."
