As soon as everyone left, Lu Tao grabbed his sister-in-law and dragged her towards the exit as well.

He hadn’t forgotten that the reason he came back was to convince her to furnish the underground apartments.

However, before he could take two steps, the hand he was holding disappeared.

He looked down at his own hand, then raised his head and was met with piercing cold eyes that promised pain if he dared to touch his sister-in-law againin his excitement, he had forgotten about his overly possessive brother who treated his wife like his life.

"Mhmm!...." He started, but was intimidated by the look in his brother’s eyes.

He had no choice but to keep quiet.

Leng Pan looked at the two brothers and couldn’t take it anymore.

"What do you want, Little brother?" Leng Pan asked curiously.

What was so urgent that this boy forgot about his brother’s character?

Seeing that his sister-in-law had spoken, Lu Tao knew that Lu Zhen wouldn’t say anything.

"I wanted to bring you to arrange furniture in the apartments below. We aren’t sure what time the disaster will strike. It is better if we are prepared earlier so that the things in our house won’t be ruined in case of accidents." He explained.

Truthfully, he was like a little kid who moved to a new neighborhood and was eager to move in.

However, what he said made sense to both Lu Zhen and Leng Pan, albeit for different reasons.

So, they both agreed to go take a look without much thought.

Leng Pan had a lot of furniture in her space bangle they had collected over time.

So, they weren’t short of furniture. However, she wasn’t a wasteful person, so, she wouldn’t leave the current furniture to get ruined.

They started packing and after a couple hours, they all headed to the entrance of the underground city.

The entrance had been build in the garage of the building they lived in.

First, it was because that way, they could control who entered the city, and second, it was more accessible to them.

Moreover, their building had been reinforced by that strange stone and become the sturdiesdt building in town.

So, there was no risk of it collapsing and sealing off the underground city in case of emergencies.

The entrance to the underground city was a wide downward slope with a gate that opened upward.

When locked, it lay flat on the ground and one couldn’t distinguish it from the surroundings. It was very well coumoflaged.

On the sides of the slope, there were stairs leading downwards until they came to a halt where the land became flat ground.

The slope continued as a road after reaching the flat ground.

There were houses on both sides of the street and more behind those visible to the naked eye.

It was built like a normal city with a market place at the end of the street where people could sell and buy whatever they need.

Because it was underground and no sun could break through, above their heads, bulbs shaped like little suns were embedded on to the roof.

Leng Pan wasn’t very involved in the construction, so she didn’t know what materials were used to make the bulbs since their light didn’t resemble the light produced by electricity but real sunlight.

It even had the warmth of sun rays.

She realized that humans had advanced a lot since the apocalypse began. Even though they couldn’t catch up with ancient earth, it was still better than before the apocalypse.

It seemed that desperate situations force human potential to its limit.

The family walked towards their assigned apartments and we’re surprised to find that even though it was said to be apartments, it was indeed almost like a courtyard.

Two of them faced one direction and the other faced the two. However, there was a wall surrounding the three houses and at the middle, a small yard was left empty.

It seemed that whoever designed it didn’t know what they would want in the yard, so they left it untouched.

There was even a small gate at the entrance made purely of shining metal.

Leng Pan thought that it must have been made by a metal ability users with their powers.

"It’s not bad." Leng Pan commented, looking around their surroundings.

"Mhmm....not bad." Lu Zhen agreed with a smile.

He liked that their apartment was separated from the others, even those in the same courtyard.

Don’t ask how he knew that the separate apartment was theirs. If he said it was then it was.

Leng Pan first went to her mother-in-law’s house to arrange the furniture together with the bedroom for her brothers-in-law.

Once it was well-arranged, she went to their uncle’s house and did the same before going to her house with Lu Zhen.

She was shocked to find that, not only was the house standard according to construction regulations, it was also well-insulated and soundproof.

It was so soundproof that even if someone screamed themselves hoarse inside, no one would hear them outside the door.

Lu Zhen nodded his head repeatedly, seemingly very pleased with the house.

He, more than anyone appreciated how soundproof the house was.

No one knows how constricting it was to want to hear his wife scream his name out loud during their highs, yet they had to be mindful of their voice, so that others wouldn’t hear her voice.

After all, he was very possessive and didn’t want anyone else hearing how alluring his wife’s voice sounded when she was in the throes of passion.

Now, he could go as wild as he liked without worry.

In fact, he couldn’t wait to try out the new house.

So, he urged his wife to hurriedly take the furniture out of the space bangle and even helped in making the bed while Leng Pan arranged clothes in the built-in wardrobe.

Once they were done, he couldn’t wait any longer and Leng Pan was carried off to bed.
