"Wait for me at home!"

The call ended. As Georgia Thorne shopped, she figured he must have cooled off a bit.

To the employees in the meeting room, Elliot Sheridan’s return was like an instant leap from the dead of winter to a breezy spring day.

Anyone could tell Elliot Sheridan was in a good mood, and the employees under him relaxed as well.

Georgia Thorne bought quite a few things. As she walked toward Elliot Sheridan’s private apartment, she saw a car being stopped at the entrance.

A security guard was standing in front of the car, bent over and seemingly negotiating with the driver.

This residential complex had strict access control. Without an invitation, you weren’t allowed in or out as you pleased.

An angry Joanne Donovan got out of the car, jutting out her impressive chest. "Take a good look! I’m Elliot Sheridan’s fiancée, and I’ve been in here before!"

From ten meters away, Georgia Thorne recognized her at a glance and instinctively ducked behind a tree, groceries in hand.

The security guard knew who Joanne Donovan was, but rules were rules.

Without an invitation from Mr. Sheridan, he couldn’t let her in. His job was on the line.

The guard stood firm. As a public figure, Joanne Donovan couldn’t afford to lose face, so she had no choice but to call Elliot Sheridan.

Unexpectedly, the line was busy.

Joanne Donovan glanced at the guard beside her and hung up.

She tried to reason with the guard again. "I really am Elliot Sheridan’s fiancée!"

"I’m sorry, but you can’t enter without an invitation. Those are the rules here!"

Joanne Donovan was about to die from anger at this security guard. She stomped back to her car in her high heels and got in.

"You just wait! I’ll make you pay for this sooner or later!" Joanne Donovan roared at the guard, resentfully backing her car up.

The guard was unfazed. Wasn’t everyone who came here a big shot?

Georgia Thorne waited behind the tree until the car was out of sight before heading to the gate with her things.

She had bought a lot of things, and they were heavy. Her hands were tired from carrying them.

When the guard saw her, he approached with a wide smile. "Miss Thorne, shall I help you carry those up?"

Georgia Thorne looked at the guard and thought for a moment. It seemed that in all this time, no security guard had ever stopped her.

"Um, why didn’t you stop me?" She didn’t have an invitation from Elliot Sheridan either.

The higher-ups had long since given instructions about Georgia Thorne; how would the guard dare to stop her? "Miss Thorne, Mr. Sheridan gave specific instructions about you. You don’t need an invitation to enter."

Georgia Thorne gave an awkward smile. "No, that’s alright. I can manage on my own!"

As soon as Georgia Thorne got back to the apartment, she headed straight for the kitchen to cook.

She heard the front door open and glanced at the time. It was just after four.

Wearing an apron, she was busy shredding potatoes.

After a few moments of chopping, the hair tie she was wearing loosened. A curtain of long hair fell from behind her ear, obscuring her vision.

Hearing the kitchen door open, she assumed it was the cleaning lady and said softly without turning around, "Ma’am, could you help me tie up my hair?"

There was no answer, but she felt someone approaching from behind.

Georgia Thorne deliberately angled her back, making it easier for the cleaning lady to tie her hair.

Her long, fine strands of hair were gently gathered and held in a palm, but not tied up.

Just as Georgia Thorne was getting suspicious, the person behind her spoke. "Why did you cut your hair back then?"

’Elliot Sheridan’s voice?’

’Shouldn’t he be at work at this hour?’

Georgia Thorne turned her head. It really was Elliot Sheridan.

"I just wanted a change of style back then. Does it not look good?"

"It looks good. You look good no matter what!" Elliot Sheridan hugged her from behind, leaning in to whisper in her ear, "But you look best when you’re not wearing anything at all!"

"You pervert!" Georgia Thorne struggled slightly. "Don’t hold me so tight, my hands are dirty!"

Afraid of getting potato starch on his expensive, exquisite suit, she turned on the tap to rinse her hands. "You should go out first. I’ll be quick with the cooking!"

"I want to eat something meaty," Elliot Sheridan said, still holding her, refusing to let go.

"I want to eat food!"

Elliot Sheridan took care of her needs, then pulled on his pants. "I’ll cook."

"You know how?" Georgia Thorne looked at him, astonished. Elliot Sheridan simply offered her a view of his proud back as he left.

She had known Elliot Sheridan for so long but had never seen him cook. She had no idea he even knew how.

Georgia Thorne waited expectantly, but an hour passed, and still nothing.

’Is he trying to make a ten-course meal or something?’

Unable to contain her curiosity, Georgia Thorne put on one of his shirts and ran out.

The kitchen door was ajar. Georgia Thorne saw a plume of white smoke drifting out, and the air was filled with a burnt smell.

She rushed in. "Is something on fire?"

Elliot Sheridan stood before the stove, frowning at the burnt bottom of the pot. Everything inside was a black, mushy mess.

"What are you doing in here? Get out!" Elliot Sheridan reprimanded her coldly.

Georgia Thorne wasn’t scared at all. Instead, she moved closer to him and discovered something incredible.

’The tips of Elliot Sheridan’s ears were a little red. Was he embarrassed?’

Georgia Thorne couldn’t help but burst out laughing. "And here I thought you knew how to cook! If you don’t, you should have just said so!"

The kitchen was now full of smoke and foul smells.

This was a challenge to his capabilities. Elliot Sheridan shot her a cold glance and walked out with his hands behind his back.

Leaving Georgia Thorne standing there, laughing so hard she could barely stand up straight.

’The almighty CEO finally had one thing he couldn’t do, and she had found it.’

Elliot Sheridan had made a complete mess of the kitchen, and it was too much to clean up at the moment. She figured she’d just wait for the cleaning lady to come tomorrow morning.

Luckily, on a whim, she had bought some instant noodles while shopping for snacks. Otherwise, they would have gone hungry tonight.

Georgia Thorne boiled some water, prepared the instant noodles, and brought them to Elliot Sheridan.

Elliot Sheridan frowned, seemingly hesitating on whether to eat them or not.

Georgia Thorne, on the other hand, dug in cheerfully. She was just too hungry.

After placating Elliot Sheridan, Georgia Thorne was ready to just up and leave.

"You’re just going to go back like this?" Elliot Sheridan said through gritted teeth. ’What’s so bad about living here?’

"Nancy Hughes will definitely be scared living alone. I’m going back to keep her company." Georgia Thorne used Nancy as an excuse yet again.

Elliot Sheridan had always wanted her to live here, but she was afraid that if she did, she’d have no self-control and wouldn’t be able to focus on preparing her work for the competition.

Elliot Sheridan drove her back to her apartment. "I really don’t know any married couple that still lives separately!"

Georgia Thorne treated it as just him complaining and pretended not to hear.

She said goodbye, got out of the car, and went inside.

The more Elliot Sheridan thought about it, the more annoyed he felt. He decisively opened his car door and headed into the apartment building.

When Georgia Thorne opened her door, she found Nancy Hughes and Blue, one person and one cat, sitting on the sofa watching TV.

"Well, well, look who’s here! Blue, your mommy has finally decided to grace us with her presence!" Nancy Hughes said with a raised eyebrow, waving Blue’s paw. "Aren’t you going to give your mommy a warm welcome?"

Blue seemed to be angry. It forcefully retracted its paw, let out a low meow, and turned its head away, refusing to pay Georgia Thorne any attention.

"You know," Nancy Hughes offered, "since you’re married to Elliot Sheridan, you should just move in with him! You’re spending the night there every other day anyway!"

It was practically the same as living there.

"I can’t do that! How could I abandon you!"

Nancy Hughes pouted. "How kind of you to still have me in your thoughts! You’re already head over heels for Elliot Sheridan. The moment he crooks his finger, you disappear without a trace. How could you possibly care about poor lonely me!"

Georgia Thorne gave an awkward smile. "It won’t happen again!"

The words had barely left her mouth when the doorbell rang.

Nancy Hughes made a prophetic guess. "Don’t tell me Elliot Sheridan couldn’t bear to part with you and followed you here!"

"No way!" Georgia Thorne denied it as she walked over to open the door.

It really was Elliot Sheridan.

"You didn’t leave?"

"Did you want me to leave?" Elliot Sheridan bypassed her, walked straight in, and swapped his shoes for a pair of cotton slippers.

Nancy Hughes, who had just been acting upset, immediately sat up perfectly straight, her back ramrod stiff. She put on a standard, polite smile and said respectfully, "Good evening, President!"

Elliot Sheridan grunted in acknowledgment, sat down on the sofa, and turned to look at Georgia Thorne, gesturing for her to come over.

Georgia Thorne remained rooted to the spot. Elliot Sheridan frowned.

As an observer, Nancy Hughes read the room. They were in the middle of a lover’s quarrel; this had nothing to do with her. Her best bet was to escape.

"President, I just remembered I have something to do. I’ll let you and Georgia talk."

Nancy Hughes went into her room, leaving the two of them alone in the living room.

Georgia Thorne was speechless. Just moments ago, Nancy Hughes had been complaining about Elliot Sheridan, yet now she’d vanished faster than anyone. Clearly, she was the type to be afraid of trouble.

"I thought you left!"

Elliot Sheridan cleared his throat. "I’ve thought it over. Since you’re unwilling to move in with me, I’ll move in with you!"

’After getting used to holding her soft, warm body in his arms, was he supposed to go back to being alone?’

’He was a married man. Was he supposed to toss and turn, sleeping alone every night?!’

"My bed is too small. It’s not comfortable to sleep in."

"What’s not comfortable about it? We’ve slept in it before, haven’t we!"

Elliot Sheridan actually quite liked Georgia Thorne’s small bed. This way, even in her sleep, she would subconsciously press against him.

It was fine for Georgia Thorne, but didn’t he have to go to work?

Sleeping with Elliot Sheridan, honestly, was very stressful for Georgia Thorne.

Her main fear was that he would take advantage of her as she slept, since she was always a heavy sleeper.

No matter how Georgia Thorne tried to persuade him, Elliot Sheridan was determined to stay, unless she agreed to go back with him.

Suddenly, there was a man living with two women. Georgia Thorne was already used to Elliot Sheridan, but that didn’t mean Nancy Hughes was.

Seeing Elliot Sheridan at the company was one thing, but having to see the President at home too? She was on the verge of a breakdown.

She was afraid of running into the President on the way to the bathroom. She was afraid of seeing the President being intimate with her friend when she came out for a glass of water. After a few days of this, Nancy Hughes found a chance to have a serious talk with Georgia Thorne.

"Georgia, you have to go live with our President. If he stays here any longer, I’m really going to lose my mind!" Nancy Hughes looked like she was about to burst into tears.

Georgia Thorne laughed awkwardly. "But..."

"No buts! Just hurry up and move in with him. I can handle things on my own!" Nancy Hughes said quickly.

Georgia Thorne, "..."

Georgia Thorne discussed it with Elliot Sheridan, and they finally agreed that she would move in with him this weekend.

Elliot Sheridan was naturally delighted, but his expression turned cold again when he heard Georgia Thorne’s next sentence. "What did you say?"

"It’s just for these next few days. Nancy and I have lived together for years, you know? We have a lot to talk about. You can tough it out alone for a bit, can’t you?"
