Slowly Falling into His Love Trap

"In the Sutton Family, we’ve been brought up with strict education since childhood; it’s impossible for us to produce a traitor!" Ashley’s tone was already filled with barely restrained anger.

Evelyn was speechless.

Could it be that she was really going to miss a chance to save Caden Lockwood?

"I’m sorry." Evelyn apologized softly, "It wasn’t intentional, it’s just... I really wanted to save Caden from the pain of his headaches."

"I know." Ashley replied, "But... I..."

"It’s okay." Evelyn forced a smile on her lips, "It’s my request that’s too much, putting you in a tough spot."

"Don’t lose heart." Ashley comforted softly, "Actually, the doctor Caden found is surely very capable too; his poison is not something only people from the Sutton Family can cure, right?"

Evelyn nodded.

But she didn’t want to wait any longer.

Every time Caden’s head ached more, her heart hurt just as much.

How could she get Ashley to agree to treat Caden?

"Um... I’ve always wanted to ask you something!" Ashley hesitated, a troubled look on her face as if she wanted to ask, but didn’t want to ask.

Evelyn couldn’t help but ask: "What question?"

"Logan Shaw really likes you, you know that, right?" Ashley’s tone carried a hint of probing, "So... what do you think?"

Hearing Ashley’s question, Evelyn’s brow furrowed slightly.

She instinctively bit her thin lips, her expression unconsciously turning dejected.

"I might be meddling in other’s business a bit." Ashley shrugged, "It’s fine! You don’t have to answer me! I just think it’s so enviable that both Caden and Logan, these handsome men, treat you so well."

Then, Ashley leaned closer to Evelyn, gossiping as she spoke: "Did you know, when you were in that car accident and almost died, just to get me to operate on you, both Caden and Logan were willing to give me everything they had!"

Evelyn’s eyes widened as she murmured, repeating the words: "Everything?"

"Yes!" Ashley couldn’t hide her envy, "And, after you woke up, they never backed out! Caden even mentioned a couple of days ago that if I wanted anything of his, I could ask him anytime! So much money, and he didn’t hesitate at all for you!"

After a pause, Ashley added: "Blame it on me for not being a money-grubber; I didn’t want any of his things. I’d rather have him owe me a favor. Who knows, I might really need him for something in the future!"

"Lu... Caden Lockwood?" Evelyn spoke up in disbelief.

"Your own husband, and you still don’t believe it?" Ashley teased, "I’m really jealous of you, like you lack nothing and have everything! Unlike me..."

At this point, Ashley sighed deeply.

Evelyn was still in a daze.

According to Ashley, Caden treated her exceptionally well as his wife!

But if he was so reluctant for her to die, then why would he propose that they divorce once she recovered?

Could it be because he firmly believed she loved Logan?

Caden Lockwood, that man, why does he always like to overthink things?

Isn’t overthinking supposed to be something only women do?

With how busy he is, does he actually have the time to think about those things?

Evelyn rubbed her temples.

She felt that her life was truly becoming more and more complicated!
