Chapter 626: Drive Them All Away

Caden Lockwood’s hands hung listlessly at his sides, and everywhere his eyes could see was filled with sorrow.

Enough!

At the very least, he needed to ensure she safely left the hospital and confirmed there were no abnormalities in her body before he could let her go!

During the time she was injured, even though she met him with coldness and endured suffering, he selfishly hoped that her injuries were tended to by him.

When Caden returned to the ward, he had already restored his indifferent and icy demeanor.

Yet, between his brows, there was a gentleness reserved only for Evelyn Morgan.

Caden glanced at Logan Shaw, relieved to see that there was no extra interaction between him and Evelyn, but still found Logan’s presence rather irksome.

"I’ll stay here. That’s enough," Caden ordered coldly. "You all should go back first!"

"You can’t handle it alone," Logan Shaw showed no intention of leaving. "I can stay and help out."

"I’m fine," Evelyn Morgan said softly, "You all should go back. Aunt May will take care of me, Yvette is here too!"

At this moment, Evelyn Morgan didn’t want to face Caden Lockwood, nor did she want to face Logan Shaw.

All she wanted was to quietly be alone for a while.

Caden’s expression took on a deeper gloom—although Evelyn sent Logan away, she was also sending him away.

"I’ll leave when Aunt May arrives," Caden said softly, "Logan, I only asked Aunt May to make food that my wife loves. Please see to it that Miss Sutton is well fed."

"Let’s go!" Ashley Sutton urged Logan Shaw, "I am really hungry! Being a doctor is a tough job! If you keep treating me like this, I might not help out the next time something happens!"

"There won’t be a next time!" Caden Lockwood suddenly roared.

The surrounding air turned icy, chilling everyone to the bone.

With a dark expression, Caden Lockwood, having already experienced it once, was baffled at the thought of it happening again.

Facing Caden, who seemed like he had triggered a bomb, Ashley Sutton’s hair stood on end.

She tugged at Logan Shaw, said "Bye-bye" to Evelyn, and quickly left the ward.

Evelyn Morgan looked at Caden Lockwood, feeling quite helpless against his anger.

Why couldn’t he just talk properly?

The pain in her body was intense; she could barely move properly. It felt like getting hit by the car had shattered her bones.

"Where does it hurt?" Caden asked immediately, "Does it hurt?"

Perhaps, being a patient made her mood even more pessimistic. Hearing Caden’s concerned words, Evelyn’s nose tingled with sourness.

It’s all his fault!

He had to throw the coin onto the road!

Even if he felt anger or displeasure in his heart, did he have to handle it in such a resolute manner?

"Nothing’s wrong with me," Evelyn said in an unfriendly tone, "I just want to rest properly. Don’t talk to me! Leave when Aunt May gets here!"

Saying this, Evelyn closed her eyes and no longer looked at Caden.

Caden stood there, unsure whether to advance or retreat.

Looking at Evelyn’s still pale and haggard face, the image of her lying in a pool of blood surged in Caden’s mind.

It felt like a vicious curse; the moment he closed his eyes, the bloody and terrifying scene would leap out, tormenting him to the point of agony.

Evelyn peeked through a small slit in her eyes at Caden. Seeing that he was still watching her, her heart suddenly started racing faster.
