Evelyn pulled Yvette to her room and hastily said, "Let me see your wound! I’ll have Caden find the best doctor to look at it for you!"

"I wasn’t punished," Yvette responded softly.

Evelyn was taken aback and instinctively asked, "Not punished? But... didn’t Caden say that your sect’s rules..."

"The rules are indeed set that way," Yvette replied, "but things are a bit complicated."

Evelyn couldn’t help but ask, "What happened?"

"It was Liam Shaw who saved me," Yvette explained, her brows furrowing unintentionally.

Yvette shook her head.

The intersection between her and Liam Shaw was only on the day Evelyn went missing; it was the first time they met.

But when she returned to Aegis Gate to willingly accept punishment, Liam Shaw suddenly appeared.

Liam Shaw negotiated with the Sect Leader of Aegis Gate for a long time, using both hard and soft tactics, and in the end, Yvette didn’t really understand why her sentence was pardoned.
