Star Gate

Time had dissipated from Li Hao and his body was heavily injured. All that floated in front of him was that fake star of time that was meant to be used as the origin of life. Supernatural characters were scattered throughout the western region.

This might be the weakest he’d been thus far in this conflict.

The destruction of Heaven’s Stratagem had further wounded his mind.

The young man was in a very dangerous state.

Long Zhan persisted in wanting to kill Li Hao because he could see this as well. This was a perfect opportunity. The ninth ranks panicked as they registered the dragon’s determination.

“Do you really want the extinction of your race, you bastard??” exhorted the dao master of darkness. The three of them were fighting for all their worth.

Long Zhan trembled all over, his great dao collapsing. However, he grit his teeth and continued pouncing on Li Hao!

Extinction?

If I don’t kill Li Hao today, I might die at his hands before you guys make good on that threat! Your threats are hot air!

He didn’t fear these people at all.

Send your primary bodies back right now if you have the ability to! Exterminate my race right now! Otherwise... it doesn’t matter who comes today.

The dragon tail flicked through the air like a blade, crashing toward the young man and wanting to nail him into the void.

Li Hao continuously backed away. Without order, time, or large numbers of worlds, he was so weak that he could only retreat.

The void flickered beneath his feet, enabling him to barely avoid Long Zhan’s tremendous attack. He sighed at the trio hot on the dragon’s heels.

“He’s consumed a lot of resources and the three of you are ninth ranks. Can’t you stop him for a bit, even if you can’t kill him? Must I die to him and make Disorder the new master of time and disorder?”

Fuck you, kid!

The three flushed beet red with indignation.

Why would we be in this situation if it wasn’t for you giving time to Disorder?! How strong can replicas hastily sent back be??

We weren’t prepared beforehand and lack sufficient spirit. How are we supposed to fight a premier powerhouse of body dao?!

Fuck this shit! It’s easy for you to say when you’re not the one trying to stop him!

The trio cursed up an internal storm.

We’re not your servants. We’re protecting you only because we want to preserve time after Disorder dies. We don’t really want you to live!

“Long Zhan, you can grievously injure him, but you cannot kill him,” intoned the dao master of shadows. “If you try, you’ll force our primary bodies to descend. Do you really think that you can stand against ninth ranks?”

The three couldn’t stop Long Zhan, so they had to resort to threat after threat.

Long Zhan turned a deaf ear to their yapping!

Li Hao flashed a meaningful grin as well. “Long Zhan is very strong. His body dao is unparalleled! But the chaos beasts are nearly all attached to chaos dao, which is why they’re in the circumstances that they find themselves in.

“As ninth ranks in residence at the center of the chaos, Long Zhan restricts you guys. But you also do the same to him. If you actually want to protect me... why don’t your primary bodies shake up chaos dao for a bit?”

“ROAR!!” Long Zhan’s roar shook the heavens! “Do you think everyone is stupid?! Shaking chaos dao will hurt me, but also put an end to their hopes for immediate return. If chaos dao is unsettled and he establishes his chaos, then nothing can threaten him again.

“Your primary bodies won’t be able to return and your replicas will be destroyed in this battlefield. You will be completely shut out from anything else that happens in this event!”

Li Hao’s plan would work, but it would entail that both sides were gravely injured!

If the ninth ranks upset chaos dao and sent it into a rampage, Long Zhan would suffer immensely, but so would their primary bodies be unable to return before chaos dao settled down again.

That would mean that the ninth ranks needed to fully give up on the notion to return.

How long would it take the disturbance to quiet down?

Perhaps a year, perhaps a month. It wouldn’t be that quick and wouldn’t be complete in the blink of an eye.

Li Hao suddenly spat out blood, he couldn’t really move anymore. His body was falling apart after suffering another blow. The young man flew backward in a battered state, all of his bones breaking and part of his flesh pulverized to dust.

The extremely fragile Li Hao murmured with regret as Long Zhan came for him once more, “It seems that everyone is very wise at the end of the day. You know that I pose the greatest threat, so it seems like I am certain to die today...

“Good luck, Disorder.” He smiled in a certain direction. “You will fully wield time once I die. You just need a split second to consolidate your grasp... so avenge me!”

Disorder was fighting for his life in the distance. He couldn’t help but swear profusely when he heard this. Fuck off, man! Just die already! Where do you get the energy to run your mouth like this??

Skyward’s replica could also sense Li Hao’s weakness and how his life flickered like a dying flame. He knew that the young man was forcing everyone’s hand.

And yet...

“You must have more tricks up your sleeve, Li Hao!” he shouted angrily. “Long Zhan won’t kill you that easily. Don’t threaten everyone with this!”

The brat was using his own life as leverage, that bastard!

Blood covered Li Hao’s face, but he gave up struggling.

“How do I have anything else?” he sighed. “I’m not the Human King, able to blow up Silver Moon to strengthen myself... This is it, if you guys don’t save me!”

“......”

Bam!

Long Zhan didn’t want to let the young man keep talking. Unexpected developments might occur if this continued. His dragon tail transformed into a massive sword and swung for Li Hao’s head!

Skyward’s replica raged to see that three ninth ranks couldn’t stop one chaos beast. Surely Li Hao had more plans to utilize!

But perhaps he really didn’t.

Everyone knew what Li Hao was scheming after. Disturbing chaos dao would gravely wound Long Zhan and also prevent the ninth ranks from descending in the short term.

This was a conspiracy out in the open!

It was the textbook demonstration of one. Everyone knew, both friend and foe. Li Hao just about had it written across his face!

“Disturb chaos dao!” yelled the Skyward master’s replica. Fucking hell, Li Hao was going to be the death of him!

The other ninth ranks were immensely aggrieved and resigned. They couldn’t actually let Li Hao die. And so, their primary bodies summoned their great daos in the depths of the chaos, calling upon its spirit to disturb chaos dao!

This would be a pyrrhic victory!

Chaos dao seemed ready to break. Heaven and earth wanted to split apart. The entire chaos shook.

Chaos beasts suddenly emitted cries of pain elsewhere in the universe. They were too deeply tied to chaos dao!

But so were the ninth ranks.

All of their daos were part of chaos dao as well.

So while the violent shaking of chaos dao injured the chaos beasts and cultivators that were part of it, such as Li Hao and the queen, the brunt of the impact was inflicted on Long Zhan. He wielded the spirit of chaos dao!

This was also why Long Zhan grasped so many great daos. Chaos beasts found it very difficult to learn anything beyond body dao. Even if they succeeded, they could practice very few. However, Long Zhan truly wielded almost eight thousand daos.

The dragon shuddered as cracks appeared on his body. He was breaking apart, just like chaos dao!

Long Zhan keened with agony. Fury and helplessness dawned in his eyes!

Such was the human heart and human nature.

He looked hopelessly at Li Hao close by. There really... would be no killing the young man today. Li Hao had already calculated everything and was ready for it all.

Chaos dao continued to shake. The death cries of chaos beasts could be heard from far away.

That was the work of New Martial and Silver Moon making use of the upheaval to kill chaos beast powerhouses.

Long Zhan could sense it too. He might be able to withstand the disturbance from chaos dao, but those of his race could not. Today might really spell the end of the chaos race if this continued!

“Given the state of affairs now, if you die today, then the chaos race will no longer have a place in the chaos universe.” Li Hao’s voice echoed in his ears. “Have you ever considered entering the false chaos for development? Biding your time might be how you secure greater opportunities!

“I am lacking many things for the establishment of my chaos, particularly life force. I also lack an immense body dao to support the foundational dao of cultivators when they first set out. If body dao is not strong enough, that will make it hard for dao rules to develop...

“Everything is starting from scratch in the false chaos. This could be a chance for your chaos race, but also possibly not!

Li Hao finally revealed his true goal. It was never to kill Long Zhan. It’d always been to establish his chaos, but that was so hard. He needed others to invest resources in it, others such as Long Zhan!
