Chapter 2096: The End of the Road (II)
Spring Autumn looked around blankly. Only now did she come back to her senses and look at Li Hao, then at Chaos Sky.
“He’s... truly vicious,” she said after a moment. “And... really brave.”
She didn’t know how to describe Li Hao anymore.
There were simply too many accidental factors involved with establishing his chaos now. The ninth ranks, Chaos Sky, Disorder, Long Zhan...
All of them were unstable elements that might take action anytime!
But all of them were now part of the battlefield.
The ninth ranks had sent their replicas in a hurry, which would make it hard for their primary bodies to ever return to the chaos. There wasn’t enough spirit left. Even if they managed the feat, they might not be any stronger than their replicas.
That would further deter them from descending then!
All of the unpredictable factors had become part of the battlefield. There would be no more unexpected developments in this conflict.
An eighth rank had used the dao of time as bait and a very unique method to pull everyone into the conflict. Ultimately, this was still part of his plot to establish his own chaos.
Li Hao was... insane!
He never seemed to leave his fate up to chance or who might help him. He might have contingencies in place even for the withdrawal of the Human King and Spring Autumn!
No, there would indeed be someone who stepped up if Spring Autumn retreated now. Chaos Sky still wouldn’t be able to reach Li Hao.
The young man... seemed to have always relied on only himself. He didn’t even have expectations for the Human King. Li Hao probably didn’t think twice about people in the field that were here to help him.
The Human King understood this point by now. Apart from having no choice when he left Silver Moon, Li Hao had never borrowed strength again. The kid always had his own arrangements in mind and rarely took action when he wasn’t confident enough.
Whether it was today or in the past, Li Hao might not have lost even without aid from the Human King or anyone else. That included the formation of Allheaven Hall. If it wasn’t for Fang Ping obstructing the eighth ranks in the east, would Li Hao... have been able to resolve the dangers posed by Reincarnation?
Perhaps... so.
What a lone wolf of a guy.
The Human King could finally see it now. The only person that Li Hao had ever trusted from beginning to end... was probably the master that he’d forced to death.
Indeed, only now did Fang Ping fully realize this fact.
Li Hao had opted to force his master to die because that was likely the only person who would willingly die at a moment like that. The young man didn’t trust anyone.
And because of that, the Human King rather pitied the kid. Li Hao had never seemed to trust anyone, ever.
There were so many Silver Moon martial masters, but he didn’t seem to have deep relationships with any of them. He didn’t trust them all that much either—or rather, he didn’t believe that any of them would truly be willing to die for him.
In contrast, the Human King’s New Martial didn’t just belong to him alone. It was everyone’s New Martial. Only Silver Moon belonged solely to Li Hao.
No, Silver Moon was Silver Moon, Li Hao was just Li Hao. Only Li Hao continuously traveled alone and never left any part of himself behind.
......
Bam!
The dragon tail pierced through the void. Li Hao was extremely weak at the moment, but a wary look appeared in Long Zhan’s eyes.
He was scared.
Indeed, he was scared of Li Hao now.
The dragon was afraid that the young man would once more recover to peak condition and successfully establish his chaos. He was also concerned that time would return to Li Hao upon Disorder’s death. That would make the young man an unkillable monster again.
Perhaps this was the only moment, the only chance he had to put an end to the horrifying youngster.
Long Zhan didn’t want to kill Li Hao, to be frank, but he’d been growing increasingly cautious of the young man. There was even a mark inflicted on the innermost depths of his heart.
Li Hao... could not be matched.
The youngster might not be strong in battle, but he was too willing to relinquish things, too ruthless, and too separate!
He was willing to give everything up!
Li Hao could forsake even time... and his master. Long Zhan felt that there were some who could give up their masters, but the dao of time?
Even that was beyond his abilities to forgo.
The three shadows to the rear grew urgent and someone bellowed, “How dare you! Cease your attacks, Long Zhan! We will exterminate your race if you kill him!”
Disorder would fully control time if Li Hao died. And the key was, they wouldn’t dare kill Disorder that easily once the young man was dead. They would have to consider if the newly inherited time would continue to be passed on, or if this would spell its end.
Would they have to wait for another million years?
Time would certainly repair itself one day. But they’d already waited one million years the first time around. How many more million years did they have to spare?
No more!
Even though they were eighth ranks, they would die of old age all the same in the absence of sufficient spirit.
Boom!
Three presences erupted as the three ninth rank replicas attacked the dragon at the same time. Formidable presences swept through the world. The three of them flared strength of only seven to eight thousand daos, making them weaker than Long Zhan.
However, they were so vibrant working in tandem that Long Zhan sensed unbounded danger from their attacks.
Rage and bitterness filled his eyes!
I have no one who can help me now because no one from my race has ever made it to ninth rank. If there was a single chaos beast at ninth rank, they might be able to help him and turn the tables!
But there were none.
“Piss off!” The dragon’s massive coiled body snaked around to strike back. He wanted to kill Li Hao, but the threat posed by the trio was not to be ignored.
BOOM!
A massive explosion rang through the void. The three shadows trembled slightly before taking a step back. Char marks appeared on Long Zhan’s tail.
The trio’s identities could be determined from the strength they deployed.
One person cultivated the dao of corrosion, making him the legendary dao master of corrosion.
Another cultivated the dao of shadows and was able to hide in the void. It was said that he’d once quarreled with the dao master of light and darkness, but that was a myth from many years ago.
One person utilized gale winds, making him the dao master of wind and gale forces. These weren’t particularly strong daos among the rest. It was a unique system since there weren’t that many cultivators specializing in them. It was harder to be initiated in these daos as the barrier to entry was higher.
The five elements, on the other hand, were much easier to perceive.
Although these three were just replicas, they were incredibly daunting. The dao master of corrosion wore a brooding look on his face. “It’s about time you came to your senses, Long Zhan! Li Hao can die, but not now. Survival is hard for your race. There’s no need to create more trouble than needed for yourself!”
“Are you guys blind??” Long Zhan responded equally frostily. “He’s a bigger threat than Disorder! Can’t you tell?! Everything happening today is part of his plans, we’re just his pawns! You guys speak of controlling heaven and earth, but look at yourselves now!
“All of you are subject to his whims. His battle strength may not be unparalleled, but he can easily pull everyone into the battlefield. And you guys hope that he’ll offer you light at the end of the tunnel?”
The dragon didn’t have the slightest bit of expectation when it came to Li Hao anymore. Was the young man going to fight the ninth ranks?
Forget about that!
Long Zhan would find his death at Li Hao’s hands first before the ninth ranks arrived!
Li Hao was not the sort to treasure a kindred soul just because he admired someone. He wouldn’t opt to spare someone or grant them their heart’s desire...
He wasn’t that sort of person!
Everyone was in the way of him creating his chaos today and his master was dead because of it. Although this was the young man’s own plans, he seemed ready to put everything on the line and fight with his back against the wall. Whoever stopped him would become his greatest enemy!
He would take revenge a hundred, a thousand times over!
That applied to Long Zhan, to Chaos Sky, and to the ninth ranks.
So could they permit Li Hao to still walk around existence?
Absolutely not!
“Cough cough cough...” Li Hao backed away, laughing shrilly. “Long Zhan, I simply killed one of your dao partners. You have a lot of them! Why continue to set yourself against me just for the sake of one of them?
“I actually think highly enough of you as a man. I would stay out of your way if you stayed out of mine. I’m not determined to kill you, so why be this way?”
Those words were extremely grating on Long Zhan’s ears!
Li Hao!
The dragon experienced immense regret in this moment, that he hadn’t relentlessly chased down Li Hao when the young man fled the four regions. He should’ve killed this brat then!
He said nothing else. Long Zhan narrowed his eyes at the three ninth ranks. They couldn’t be permitted to stand in his way either!
They were just replicas and there were only three of them. He stood a chance of killing them!
Chaos dao shook!
Spirit appeared in the surroundings and the shadow of a ferocious tiger appeared. It was like a myriad of beasts had descended upon them.
“Roar!!”
The howl shook the words. A phoenix cry and a dragon croon echoed in response.
All manner of beasts raised an uproar!
Long Zhan’s battle strength increased somewhat and an incredibly thick rule of great dao appeared overhead. It transformed into a massive dragon, like it possessed spirit, and snaked toward the three ninth ranks.
Not only that, but his primary body charged Li Hao once more.
The ninth ranks were incensed. We told you to stop, but you continue down this path! Do you actually think you’re a ninth rank??
Great daos churned madly when they took action at the same time.
Countless daos tangled with each other and madly broke apart.
