Chapter 991: Nightmare

As the nighttime passed, the movement of the beasts increased in this area.
Jeremy was totally new to this place. He was seeing and fighting against the insect parasite for the first time.
He was visiting the wet swamp for the first time, so he could not rest properly. He opened his eyes and began to observe the surroundings.
He saw four-legged beasts taking a walk casually, but they were maintaining a gap from other corrupted beasts.
Screech!
He also heard the sound of flying beasts—it could be a bat or bird species. This cry also alerted him. He decided to remain active during the nighttime.
He couldn’t afford to take a risk. He continued to observe the surroundings. He saw a leopard coming outside.
A flicker of doubt appeared in his eyes.
He knew the corrupted beasts preyed on other corrupted beasts. He could get trapped between their fights.
He didn’t make any movement. He silently watched them walk past.
Rustle!
Just then, he heard the same rustling sound again. It reminded him of the insect parasite beasts from earlier.
But he had walked away from that place; there were a few miles of distance between them. He calmed his heart down and tried to find out what was going on.
It didn’t take long for him to witness the shocking scene. Four-legged corrupted beasts, snakes, spiders, and centipedes were running in panic.
He used his eye power to zoom in. Then, he saw something shocking. These beasts had black-colored snakes on their backs. He recognized the black-colored snakes.
Because they were not black snakes—they were actually insect parasite beasts. Goosebumps broke out all over his body.
The beasts that were escaping were Tier-5 and Tier-6 beasts. But the insect parasite latched to them was a Tier-5 beast. Yet, it was making the Tier-6 beasts run for their lives.
Boom!
The beasts were running past, but some of them were dangerously close to him. His gaze swept across them and stopped on one beast.
It was a three-horned rhino, a Tier-6 beast. The size of the beast was over 4 meters.
Two Black Insect Parasite Beasts latched onto it. He saw with his eye power that the insect parasites were sucking the blood from the beast’s body.
If this went on, the rhino would die for sure. The insect parasite beast was terrifying.
Grunt!
Just as he was waiting, the rhino beast changed its course and started running toward him.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night was taken aback. The beast was going to collide with the tree. His expression changed drastically.
The next second, he exited the tree hole at high speed.
Boom!
A couple of seconds later, the massive beast collided with the shade tree. The shade tree exploded into pieces.
The shock force struck him, forcing him backward.
Grunt!
The rhino grunted. It was trying to force them off its body, but the insect parasite beasts were firmly latched. Their hold was unyielding.
The rhino beast was suffering. Its gaze then fell on the human nearby, enraging the beast further.
Boom!
It charged at the human Beast Tamer.
Jeremy was taken aback. He didn’t expect the beast to turn against him. He unsheathed his blade, ready to strike.
Boom!
The Tier-6 Triple-Horned Rhino took only a few steps before closing the distance. Jeremy gripped the blade tightly and added starlight power to the edge.
Swoosh!
When the beast got close to him, he sidestepped at the last moment. The rhino tried to knock him down with its triple horns, but he narrowly escaped.
Pfff!
Right then, his blade swept across its flank. The blade came into contact with its skin, and the starlight power cut through the hide.
The flesh was cleaved. A torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound. He didn’t stop there; he used an advanced blade move.
Pfff!
The blade moved in a blur. In the blink of an eye, the blade created a wider gash. The body of the beast was riddled with wounds.
Grunt!
The Tier-6 rhino grunted in pain. It was already injured because of the insect parasite beasts; now it suffered a massive open wound.
Pfff!
At the same time, Jeremy Night attacked the insect parasite beast. The blade sliced through the body of the insect beast, its length coming into contact with internal organs.
The starlight power destroyed its insides. Right then, the beast’s body fell to the ground. But one more insect parasite beast was still latched onto the rhino’s body.
Jeremy saw that the rhino beast was struggling and decided to use this opportunity to move closer to the triple-horned rhino.
Pfff!
He attacked the parasite. The blade moved in a blur before cutting down the beast as his advanced blade move came into play.
The insect parasite beast suffered a gruesome injury and died a few seconds later.
Pfff!
Both parasite bodies dropped dead onto the ground. The Tier-6 Triple-Horned Rhino lost all its strength and fell to the ground.
Thud!
The heavy landing made a loud sound. Jeremy saw the beast was on the verge of dying. Most of the blood in its body had been sucked out by the two insect parasite beasts.
He watched the beast die. He didn’t end its life with the blade; the beast died right in front of his eyes.
Relief flashed in his eyes. He then looked around. All the other beasts had fled from the area, but he could still hear a rustling sound.
He used his eye power to scan the place. He saw many insect parasite beasts on the ground—alive and crawling across the dirt.
His eyes flashed with a cold glint. The insect parasite beasts had given him a scare, and he wanted to kill the rest.
Swoosh!
He moved toward the remaining beasts. Some were lying on the ground in random places. He arrived in front of a beast and plunged his blade into its body.
Pfff!
He didn’t give the beasts a chance, leaving huge holes in their bodies. The blood splattered across the ground, dyeing it blood-red.
